But after a few months of reflecting on events that have occurred over the past decade, I very much believe World War 3 has not only begun, but has been happening since 2001. September 11th began a new stage of warfare. A globalized conflict where nation states continue to engage in conventional military strategy, while their adversaries counter with evolving asymmetrical warfare. The modern terrorist has adopted the methods of Fourth Generation Warfare and is becoming more sophisticated in their targeting and ability to carry out attacks. Unfortunately the majority of free nations have had severe difficulty in successfully countering these strategies. Sometimes that is due to politics, lack of funding, misdirection of resources and personnel, poor training, or a combination of all these things. But one thing for certain is that this world has become a much scarier place. And it is the sad reality that the government and police cannot always be there to protect you. It is wise to learn to safeguard yourself and your loved ones from harm. Engaging in a proactive manner could very well one day save your life. Be ever vigilant, and be safe my friends.

Time to crack down on Islamism, hard. It has to be a joint effort of Muslims and non-Muslims.

From what we know so far, the bomber waited until the concert had almost ended and then detonated his explosive device at the building's foyer as the guests were leaving. I've been watching a few videos of the incident. Most of them are inside the theater and you can hear the bomb detonate. Definitely not a place you want to be near as everyone gets funneled into one area, and then a stampede runs away from it. I don't know what is worse, being killed instantly with a bomb, or being trampled to death by a human wave.

We're witnessing the "Pluralization of technology", by which pundits mean that fairly complex technological solutions have become accessible to anyone with a few $-s in their pockets. Unfortunately this also applies to destructive technology, like bombs. Today, simply anyone that wants to make a bomb, can. Materials are easy to acquire and the know-how is only a few clicks away on the Internet. Unfortunately as technology continues to progress, the "entry level" for more and more destructive technologies will also keep coming down. We've crossed so many lines I've lost count, yet action is happening at a painstakingly slow pace. I wouldn't hold my breath.

That particular part was from the Hungarian Press Service, so It wouldn't do any good if I linked it, and I can't find it in a foreign source yet. It's probably additional information to the sentence that you've cited about him being a security officer who covertly forth for another Islamist group.

In a way it's pretty unfair that Muslim communities get shit for not reporting extremist behavior when time and time again it turns out that several warnings went to the authorities, which they then ignored.
