May 26, 20179 yr comment_908353 I bet there's a standard procedure to investigate such calls and take suspects under observation. It's all due to our law. Police cannot arrest anyone just because someone said he's dangerous, or even because they believe / know he's dangerous. They need profs to act, otherwise they can just observe. Report

What did these idiots reckon was going to happen after making NATO act as Airforce of Al Qaeda and ISIS in Libyan Regime change? Think those uprisings were lad by Jeffersonion Democrats? Turns out they were extremists being kept in line by Gaddafi. Like it or not, Corbyn is right on point when he said this is connected to bad foreign policy. Too bad, most people won't be informed enough or be able to connect the dots. Report

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha oh jesus this is quite possibly my favourite post of yours on these boards, ever. The West's foreign policy is so utterly freaking stupid. If they'd just acknowledge that they were being dragged around by the nose by Saudi Arabia, I'd have more respect for them. Instead they keep couching everything in moral overtones. Pathetic. Report
May 27, 20179 yr comment_908399 Problem is, there is simply no way to know when the next attack it coming and you cannot simply "crack down" on an ideological insurgency without ridiculously violating basic human rights.Getting out of the middle east would be a good start. Not bombing Libya or Syria would be better start. Not trying to dictate the Muslim world might just be the best start. Report

Too bad, most people won't be informed enough or be able to connect the dots.Western foreign policy has been atrocious my entire life. Sometimes it literally makes me want to cry seeing how the only thing I've known is a constant state of war. The west is so backwards on this that it shouldn't be possible. But it is. And all because of places like Saudi Arabia and our dependence on their garbage. And our elite don't care at all."A bomb in NYC? Oh well. At least it didn't kill me or my investors" - every elite ever.In our western system, lives literally have monetary value and this crap will not end until we end their psychotic, greed fueled regime. I just don't see any other way. The downside to that is fracturing ourselves and out own society to make it happen, which could have equally bad results. Thanks, Bush and Cheney. You'll certainly have a special place in any history books that may remain. Report

Not bombing Libya or Syria would be better start. Not trying to dictate the Muslim world might just be the best start. Of course you can crack down on ideologies! Violently or not, Islamists ultimately strive to topple states and instill their ideologies as rule of the land. It's a clear cut threat to national security and should be dealt with accordingly. No need to throw everyone in jail right away, but maybe cutting state funding to Islamist-related organizations posing as "congregations" and "charities" would be a good start. Banning them would be even better. I will not argue that Western Foreign Policy in the Middle East is FUBAR, as it clearly is. This is another example. Report

May 30, 20179 yr comment_908680 Yes folks, the opposition party has found a new card to play. It's called, "The Deflection Card". The race card has been played out... same with the gender card, the poverty card, the gay card, and the rock star of all cards... the "it's for the children" card. Yes they are not working anymore. Democrats still can't win an election. They need a new card. Now this is what they do: Democrat: Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the election from HillaryRepublican: You don't know thatDemocrat: Trump should be impeachedRepublican: Why?Democrat: Because Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the election from HillaryRepublican: There is no evidence of thatDemocrat: Trump talked about Wikileaks during his campaignRepublican: So? Hillary talked about the pussy grab video... when there's something out there that can damage your opponent, you really want everyone to see it... there's nothing wrong with that.Democrat: But Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the election from HillaryRepublican: THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF THAT!... and even if he did, that is not a crime.Democrat: You're deflecting. See how it works? Now this is what Defense Secretary General James "Mad Dog" Mattis said about ISIS... there is no deflection. Our strategy right now is to accelerate the campaign against ISIS. It is a threat to all civilized nations. And the bottom line is, we are going to move in an accelerated and reinforced manner, throw them on their back foot. We have already shifted from attrition tactics, where we shove them from one position to another in Iraq and Syria, to annihilation tactics, where we surround them. Our intention is that the foreign fighters do not survive the fight to return home to North Africa, to Europe, to America, to Asia, to Africa. We are not going to allow them to do so. We are going to stop them there and take apart the caliphate. Report

June 6, 20179 yr comment_909603 Yea, this is just beyond ridiculous, one of the asshole was in a documentary, was reported more than once over a period of time by neighbours and freinds. Had his views openly stated on tv show, was kicked out of mosques, more than once etc. What more do they want people and the communities to do? Honestly, dont buy they dont have money to monitor people on 'the list'. They politicians can arrange the money if this was a bigger priority. Cant blame Police, people or anyone, but just the politicians and their priorities. I suppose terror and fear here and there helps them, keep people diverted from more crucial issues that affects thousands/millions in overall scheme of things. Report

I suppose terror and fear here and there helps them, keep people diverted from more crucial issues that affects thousands/millions in overall scheme of things. I am mostly looking at the void between old & new legislation aimed at combating terrorism and the lack of funds, manpower and material to actually do these things. One of the most glaring notions of that void is that wnenever certain govermental agency goes into "work-to-the-rule" strike and you suddenly have whatever they control come glaring to a halt due to it happening. Heck, even entertaining the idea of putting everyone on "the list" (and people beyond) on an island would be just another new legislation without funds, manpower or materials to actually do. Report
