If you like CN type politics however, a lot more interactive game, Eve online has free to play option to try the game out for as long as you like.

 

If you sign up through my referral, and later upgrade to free account, *I* get, ~1 bn isk (eve money), which i'll transfer to you. The worth of ~1bn$ is like ~$20, if you were to purchase it later. ~1bn isk takes a couple+ months to earn on your own, but by using referral, you get it for free. I dont get anything out of it, as I'll pass on the money (and I dont need it). 

 

The game has bit of a curve, but the community is very welcoming to new players and there are great alliances who focus on improving you as a new player.

FYI, 3 doesn't get any better, and I hear 4 is even worse. We hit that threshold Saturday.

They have made no changes to it since you left. Except for now there are citadels everywhere so you get the "honor" of destroying them.

i play eve alot...great game

my favorite memory was when my friend (who also happens to be in IRON, wont name names tho) fell asleep and lost his CNR which he had fitted with all faction modules, and then woke up, grabbed his cheetah, which he proclaimed he could never lose, and attempted to loot his wreck...and then lost his cheetah          

was this within a mission? Why not just use another ship to loot it while finishing the mission?

Yeah I have no idea haha I think he fell asleep with the cheetah too. It was a mission. He thought he perma tanked his Raven. He was wrong haha

I played EVE for a bit about a year ago, but didn't really get into it. Such a huge learning curve. I would definitely give it a try again if I had more connection to it like on here (and that 1 billion ISK sounds nice, so I would have to create a new account haha). Will have to wait until I get home in July though.

They've made the free-to-play even better now, so give it a go! if you need any help, plenty of us here to help you through!

My husband actually used to play EVE and got me into it for a bit. Honestly, the only way to win EVE is to not dedicate you entire life to it. Lol.
