thats not really a good reason.  The odds of him being scum are just as good as anyone else.  So just because he was scum in the past does not mean he is again.  If i flip a coin 5 times in a row and they are all heads, that does not make the odds of the 6th time more likely to be heads or tails.  thats a terrible reason to vote for someone

You're giving me hard time like I hammered him for no reason? I made it clear it was a joke in reply to a joke. I am not starting a lynch wagon on him. Let him respond, he has not yet posted anything relevant yet in D2. People had voted him for being perma scum many times, do you think those votes were anything but lulz? So why mine should be any different. You're reading too much into something that is not meant to be anything deep. Or are you sure he is not scum? But how would you know?

On a serious note, it usually stands to reason at least 1 scum is on the lynch wagon.

I agree with this, but the math can get twisted.

Reasonable facts/assumptions:

• 12 players are alive
• 3 players are scum
• 9 players are townies
• 4 players voted to lynch a townie on day 1

If only 1 scum voted to lynch, that's a 1/4 chance (25%) on each member of {The Warrior, Lachiton, legoboyvdlp, iSocialism} that they are scum.

But if the other 2 scum did not vote to lynch then from my perspective, it's 2/7 chance (28.6%) of being scum for each of the other players that did not vote to lynch.

(The denominator is 7 because I know that I am not scum and did not vote to lynch).

 

So the more I think about this, the more it stands out to me.  First off, Kevin took himself out of the equation right away, which sways the numbers to make it look like it is statistically more beneficial to lynch someone off the goldiron bandwagon, when in fact if it was 1 scum on and two off it would be an even chance, 25%.  I am starting to wonder if there is a reason for this.  I guess what I am trying to say is, there is no way to know the breakdown of where the scum voted, unless you are in fact scum.  so an attempt to  focus to one side over the other using statistics makes me think that person has inside knowledge of where the scum are, and wants to drive the votes to the side with the fewer scum.  If i was scum, and I knew there were 2 scum votes on GoldIron, I would for sure want to make sure the focus was on the people who did not vote for GoldIron, thus decreasing the odds of a scum lynch.  In my eyes, the only benefit of a post like this would be to protect your two scum partners that voted for goldiron and drive the focus away from the wagon, so I am starting to wonder if there might be two scum votes on goldiron.I am not saying that I believe Kevin to be scum or anything, I am just putting this out there, since I am struggling to think of a reason for his post other than to direct the focus of our votes away from the lynch wagon.  I could be way off on this, but to me, it is at least something to go off.  Im curious what the thoughts are on this.

Hmm... as I read this and looked back at Kevin's post I did start to share your suspicion but.. since I also did not vote to lynch and know I'm town the odds for me are 2/7, assuming only 1 scum on the wagon. Which is a bit of a dangerous assumption to hold firmly but it is probably true.

lachiton is most likely innocent/town
legoboy still holds a FOS from me on him, might upgrade to a vote next post if he hasnt said anything to change my mind.
im thinking that isoc seems to be someone who'd be a jailkeeper.
The warrior is difficult to get a read on, but my instincts tell me scum.
Idk hold all my observations with as grain of salt, im going to take a nap.

hammer vote on someone who is now known to be a town. Implying that I hammer voted a town is not fully true. Yes, scum are more likely to want a scum lynched, but if someone else does the dirty work they would prefer that much more. Just speculating there, but aren't we all.
