Im about to hop into a meeting so I didn’t check the rules yet to see if it’s legal, but since the electoral college can only be passed to a random town player, is there any reason for the new electoral college not to role claim immediately? The new EC might be targeted at night like Rafay was but we can then at least “verify” that person as town for today and rule them out as a suspect.

Having the EC role claim every day moving forward should help us verify someone. If our remaining scum chooses to counterclaim the EC as well we will have a 50% chance of lynching correctly and winning the game on a given day.

I'm a touch perplexed, as TW hasn't explained himself yet....but am also in a conundrum regarding Kevin and WP.

 

If I had to weigh in now without TWs explanation I'd probably go towards Kevin, as his play hasn't been his norm....plus he needs extra punishment since my FFL team spanked his...again.

Game summary from my perspective

• The Warrior as Elector lynched 2 scum.  He could have made an excuse not to do that so I think he's town.
• Wolfpacks made a defense of Dontanian who we now know is scum so I think he is also scum.
• Lord MK, Lyner, and Finster Baby have not done anything particularly bad to put them on a scum list.

As far as “defending myself” regarding the idea I tossed out a couple days ago, I was not advocating that we HAVE to do anything. I was throwing out a strategy that came to mind and asking if anyone could poke any major holes in it. Knowing that the role of the EC cannot ever be taken away from town since it just passes to a new townie if the EC dies, I didn’t think it would be the worst idea to basically have a new “confirmed” townie every day so we didn’t waste time focusing on someone that we could basically guarantee was town. One of two things would happen:
1) Only the true EC would role claim and we’d have a guaranteed townie.
2) The last scum would counterclaim the EC and we’d have a 50% chance at worst of lynching the last scum on that day.

In any case, I never said “I think we should definitely do this”. I was throwing out an idea and asking if it was worth considering.

Pretty nifty backpedaling there, but given your body of work I suspect your motives were pure.

I'm going to go ahead and role claim because I think it guarantees town the victory if I do so at this point.

 

I am the Popular Candidate.

 

To remind you of my role:

Popular Candidate

• You are the popular candidate and a US citizen
• Abilities:
• If the Electorate determines that you lost your election (aka you are lynched), the people will demand a recount and you will win your election.  The Electorate will be arrested (killed) for corruption.  Once you publicly win your election, you cannot become the Electorate.
• If targeted by the deep state at night with their disinformation campaign (for the kill), you will not lose the election, but instead will uncover them and they will be arrested (killed)
• This is a one shot ability as you are only running for office once this year
• You win when all threats to democracy are eliminated

 

So I am essentially 1-shot Deathproof.

 

Here is why I'm role claiming now and what the plan should be moving forward:

 

Why role claim now?:

There should only be one mafia left which means that it is currently 5 town vs 1 mafia (and therefore not a LYLO situation at this time in case I am counter claimed).

 

What will happen moving forward from here?:

The last scum now has to decide whether to counter claim my role claim today or remain quiet and then the town will know that I am in fact the Popular Candidate. If I am counter claimed by the last member of the deep state then the town has a 50/50 choice to make about which one of us is telling the truth.

 

If you believe me (which you should because I am the PC) then we will lynch the last scum today and win. If you believe the person who counter claims me then you can try to lynch me today but since I am the Elector and I know that I am the Popular Candidate I will obviously not lynch myself and will instead lynch whoever counter claims me since I will know for sure that they our last scum and then town wins today.

 

Since I am role claiming now I will NOT BE ELIGIBLE to be the Elector moving forward. This means that our Electoral College will have to pick a new Elector for the rest of the game.

• If you are TOWN and chosen as the Elector in future days, you now know that I am the Popular Candidate so as long as you don't lynch me town will win.
• If you are SCUM and chosen as the Elector in future days, feel free to try to lynch me since it means that you will die instead and the town will win.

 

Endgame:

If we get all the way down to a point where it is just me and the last scum left, the town will win no matter what as long as no townie Elector chooses to try to kill me during a given day. Since I will not be able to be the elector anymore because I role claimed that means that the scum will be the elector on the last day if it's just me and him left. Their only two options at that point are:

 

1) Choose to lynch me. The SCUM will die instead and the TOWN wins due to my 1-shot deathproof status and the fact that it rebounds on them.

2) Don't do anything. This will result in the SCUM being modkilled for not submitting a kill and the TOWN wins.

 

 

BOTTOM LINE:

I am the Popular Candidate. As long as no future town Elector chooses to lynch me during the day, the TOWN is guaranteed a win.

 

 

 

Since Wolfpacks is currently leading the vote, hopefully he is our final scum and we can just end this today.

Also, if the current electoral college wants to verify that I’m the PC, he could try to name me as elector again for tomorrow and it should get rejected by Brewers somehow I’d imagine since I can’t be elector after role claiming. His second choice should become elector instead in that case.
