Mage Wars Mafia

I had disregarded those post as they seemed like the ordinary KevinH fluff(poetry/spam) in the early parts of the game. However, after rereading them, I think I do see what you were trying to say. Still, if you are going to use it as a basis to filter out scum, you should have made it more obvious and especially less ambiguous. Before I will unvote, I would like to know why you more or less disregarded the advice given to you?

That being said, I am not too fond of this strategy. Yeah, it is a way to flush out some townies and perhaps a scum, but is this really in the spirit of the game? It is supposed to be about an uninformed majority versus an informed minority. If we are going to use the townie PM to our advantage, it will distrub the balance of the game without the scum being able to do anything about it.

What was the advice you gave to KevinH?

So you are against townie role claims with the protection of a Doc? Isn't the strategy of, I'm assuming, a cop role claiming early and letting the Doc know to protect him every night a viable strategy?

also, what's with the voting craze for today?? as soon as someone said the day will end today even though our mod hasn't posted yet and 2 players jumped on the waggon. or was it 3??

We need the lynch.

The end of the day without a majority would change that, hence people jumped on to prevent that.

What made you believe his claim of townieness? It could be WIFOM. If you could share what specific re-reading made you believe him, and why (maybe you have a different analysis)?

Yes it could be WIFOM. BUT I am a bit hesitant to lynch a pro-town power role. I think I know what KevinH is alluding to but I will not share it right now. Maybe on Monday when I have more time.

Weekend.

48hr absence notice.

CD.

i've had some time to consider the possible outcomes.

1.) we dont lynch kevinH and he turns out to be a power role, he helps us.

2.) we dont lynch KevinH and he turns out to be scum, and if the doc decides to help him the doc will end up dead and we'll be down 3 people before the 2nd day even starts.(lynch, doc, and the mafia target)

3.) we lynch him and he's a power role. doesnt cripple the town but does hurt none the less.

with that in mind

unvote

vote:KevinH

the chances of loosing more ppl than needed is to high to risk not lynching you.

The "I Love Modding" Votecount

KevinH - 6 (Electric Mango, molestargazer, Martino, Theophilos, angel of doom, Carl Vincent)

CanucksDynasty - 1 (junkahoolik)

Carl Vincent - 1 (Falzis)

junkahoolik - 1 (Kaziocore)

No Lynch - 1 (KevinH)

Not Voting - (CanucksDynasty, Sir Jesus)

There is a Strong Doc right? Weak Docs like in mole's game dies when they protect scum, but do Strong Docs die as well?

Anyway, I'm leaning towards voting KevinH now since you state those possible outcomes. But I want to wait for KevinH to post again and defend himself one last time. I'm thinking he should role claim already since I don't get why he hinted, and explicitly at that (not the poems but his post at page 7), he was a power role and yet he doesn't want to tell us everything anyway. I don't agree with him when he says to mole that only scum would force a townie to role claim, since it was Kevin himself who de facto roleclaimed.

But yeah. I need more information from KevinH to weigh the costs-benefits.

Also, can we prod Carl Vincent?

2.) we dont lynch KevinH and he turns out to be scum, and if the doc decides to help him the doc will end up dead and we'll be down 3 people before the 2nd day even starts.(lynch, doc, and the mafia target)

Ok I just thought about this but if the Doc dies during the night, would we know that the Doc died from protecting a scum or not? Because if yes, then at least even if 3 people die that before D2, we would know that KevinH is indeed scum and then proceed to quickly lynch him, and then use the discussion today to see who was defending KevinH or not voting for him.

Oh I also see that you say that 3 people will die before D2 but if we don't lynch KevinH, it doesn't necessarily mean we will lynch somebody else (unless there's a good case against somebody else). So we might only lose 2 people before D2, and lose only 1 if the Doc protected KevinH and didn't die.

I would like to know why you more or less disregarded the advice given to you?

Advice that I should for anyone? I followed it.

Advice that I shouldn't vote for somebody I didn't really want to lynch? I followed it.

Advice that I should role-claim? That doesn't make sense. Why not just ask everyone to role-claim?

I like the subtleties of the game. I like the uncertainties of the game. I only know what my role PM says and I don't know if the other role PM's match it. For all I know, the scum might have a better understanding of my hints than a regular townie.

To those that think I am probably townie but still want to lynch me, I ask you what the next step will be. When I am revealed as a dead townie, will you suspect those that voted for me? Do you suspect them now?

Hey guys, sorry for the long hiatus. I have been busy in rl and have finally settled down in my apartment at college.

After reviewing all the posts that I have missed, I understand now why a no lynch is not helpful. Therefore:

Unvote

Vote: KevinH

I am voting this way because he has the majority of the votes thus far and is most likely the only person able to be lynched.

also vote count please?

I don't know what's up with the irrationality going on here with people wanting to lynch anyone for the sake of lynching. But I'm thinking the stacks are against you.

Not everyone is asked to role claim because not everyone hinted they have a power role. You did. Through poems or whatnot, and then through a verbalization that those poems hinted at something. So you de facto role claimed.

So in essence, you brought it up against yourself. If we extend to the logical conclusion your implicit confession, why is it unfair to ask for an explicit one? You hinted you had a power role when your is on the line. Why can't you specifically say what that is? So we can verify or validate it later in context?

Well, in a way yes, but mainly I see KevinH as the only one capable of being lynched at the moment.

So why do you want a lynch just for the sake of it? I'm pro-lynch on D1 but at least have some reason other than "we need a lynch". Else, you're wagoning.

I was referring to the advice given in your role PM.

How would you know the advice given to him in his role PM? /BIG SCRATCH ON HEAD

@Carl

What was scary?

exactly what i was gonna ask now...

and, kevin, i don't get ya... again... you said "Advice that I should role-claim? That doesn't make sense. Why not just ask everyone to role-claim?" hate to break it to you but, you're up for lynching it seems. so why wouldn't you role claim??maybe not now, but in the last day of the day (sounds so wrong it's kinky :P). i admit, i haven't read your poem thingy cause i hate them things. but seems you roleclaimed in it already. so why wouldn't you be specific??

I'm not dead yet.

Those that want me dead should have suspicion on them.

I'm scratching my head, too, regarding advice in the role PM.

Whether I am a cop, a doc, or anything else shouldn't matter to other townies.

The scum would like the information for deciding whom to target at night.

well, if in the hours before the day ends you will still be in the position in which you will be lynched and you won't role claim (if you indeed have a role), it would be just a waist of time. my 2 cents. hell, my 1k bucks :P
We have 3 (4?) days til deadline. I hope you roleclaim Kevin if you still have at least 4 votes a day before the deadline. Like junk said, you'll die anyway so you might as well roleclaim and allow us to discuss.

Man the bandgwagon is piling up.

Now KevinH is L-1.

For the rest who haven't voted for KevinH...please don't.

All of it is happening so fast.

Let's use the remaining time to generate discussions.

KevinH will still get lynched tomorrow if nothing else changes.

I got to re-read the past couple of pages.

@KevinH - I suggest you roleclaim as nothing you have said changed anyones mind.

1. No you're not dead yet so you still have time to convince others to unvote.

2. I didn't get that either.

3. It does if the townies can prevent you being lynched and switch to a scum target.

4. If you lived past D1...they would proabably target you as you hinted at having a power role. What more information could they gain?

Sorry KevinH...you're not making it any easier for us townies to believe in you. But if you do die...then obviously I would suspect at least 2 mafia that have placed votes on you.
