Mage Wars Mafia

It was quiet that night in Arcanus, as usual. It was around midnight, and most everyone was in bed asleep, or getting ready to go to sleep. Suddenly, powerful explosions rocked the town. The whole town shook as though it was an earthquake. Out of some windows, you could see colourful flashes of light. Then it stopped. Puzzled, afraid, and intrigued, the townsfolk got out of bed to investigate. They found the fields of Farmer Joe scorched badly, and here and there it looked as though there had been an explosion. Talking amongst themselves and putting tow and tow together, they soon realized that these were no ordinary explosions; they were caused by magic. Everyone headed back to their homes in fear and awe wondering what would happen next...

@KevinH - out of the 6 people that have voted for you...whom do you suspect the most? Please list in order of scummiest (ie. #1 = scum...#6 = scummy but probably townie...etc) and reasons why you think that.
The "I Love Modding" Votecount

KevinH - 6 (Electric Mango, molestargazer, Martino, Theophilos, angel of doom, Carl Vincent)

CanucksDynasty - 1 (junkahoolik)

Carl Vincent - 1 (Falzis)

junkahoolik - 1 (Kaziocore)

No Lynch - 1 (KevinH)

Not Voting - (CanucksDynasty, Sir Jesus)

#1 molestargazer - placed 2nd vote and pushed for role information

#2 Martino - 3rd vote with weak justification

#3 Electric Mango - 1st vote could have been random but didn't unvote

#4 Carl Vincent - Lynch minus 1 vote

#5 angel of doom - Lynch minus 2 vote

#6 Theophilos - 4th vote with misguided justification

you'll die anyway so you might as well roleclaim and allow us to discuss.

What's to discuss?

The scum want to lynch me regardless.

If a townie believes me, they should unvote now.

If a townie doesn't believe me, will they be inclined to unvote if I make a role-claim?

My role will be revealed upon my lynch. Discussion about it can occur a the beginning of the next day. (I predict it will be along the lines of "Gee, Kevin was telling the truth" "Oh well, I was just scum-hunting" )

If I get enough late unvotes, the scum will have to decide whether to risk targeting me for a night kill. I don't want to help them with that decision.

If you would have had a pro town role, you would have roleclaimed by now. I also believe that if you are the townie you implied to be, you would have been able to answer my question. So I am actually more certain that you are scum then I was when I voted.

That's the part I don't get. Since you've hinted at a power role...you will always be consideration for a night kill. So why not make it easier for the town who are confused at what alignment you are?

Unless you really are scum and hope that enough confused townies unvote.

Well...it's your call to roleclaim or not.

Well...it's your call to roleclaim or not.

If I said I was a doc, the scum would feel certain that a night kill would be successful.

If I said I was a cop, the scum would have to consider whether the doc would protect me or not.

Meanwhile, any true townie would want either a cop or a doc to survive; I see no point in role-claiming.

OK...I get your point.

IF you're townie...I hope you get a chance to live.

IF you're scum...well...it's best to lynch ya.

But it doesn't look like you will get to escape being lynched.

What are your thoughts about the rest who haven't voted for you?

(ie. place in order of scummiest and why...like the list you made for me before).

While I, obviously, play mafia to enjoy myself, I also play to win. Changing your opinion/actions competely each time someone disagrees with you is not getting us anywhere.

Am I convinced that you are scum? No, but your line of play simply did not feel right. I was actually debating putting a second vote on theophilos to see what you would do. But then you already unvoted after a little pressure from CD.

I posted this shortly after voting for you. So it is not like I pretended to be certain that you were scum until you said my reason was weak. Also, I disagree that my initial reason was weak. You were acting weird and it was not in the advantage of the town. Finally, if you were a doc, you would die anyway, so you should have made the mafia waste the NK instead of making us waste our lynch. If you are a cop, you should have relied on the doc to save you tonight.

Possibly scum but probably townie:

  • Junkahoolik
  • Kaziocore
  • CanucksDynasty

Most likely townie:

  • Sir Jesus
  • Falzis

Don't waste your lynch. I'm a townie. My role doesn't matter.

Well...if you don't want the town to waste our lynch...then come up with a vote on who you suspect the most.

You still have a No Lynch Vote and time's running out.

Unvote: No Lynch

Vote: Molestargazer

His whole line of demanding information strikes me wrong. I think he wants to know whether to attempt a night kill on me or not.

we still dont know if our doc is a normal doc or not. also i didnt know the doc in the last game was a weak doc. and kevinH you are making yourself look worse by the minute, first you say you hinted at a power role then you come out and say:

Don't waste your lynch. I'm a townie. My role doesn't matter.

that is contradictory to what you've claimed earlier

Vote: Carl Vincent

Blatant bandwagoning.

For some reason I get a good townie feeling from KevinH. I can't really point it out, just my intuition. I feel like lynching him may be a bad move. However, someone needs to get lynched.

Garrr.

Forgive me. I should say that I am townie-aligned.

If you said you're the doc and people unvote, scum would NK you. But then, we could lynch somebody else instead.

If you're the doc and you didn't say you're the doc, you die from lynch and scum would NK somebody else.

---

If you said you're the cop and people unvote, scum could NK you but would fail since the doc would surely protect you. We could lynch somebody else instead.

If you're the cop and people do not unvote, you die from lynch and scum would NK somebody else.

If you're the cop and you didn't say you're the cop, you die from lynch and scum would NK somebody else.

Costs (of not explicitly role claiming): We could have lynched somebody else - a scum (or of course, a townie). But instead, power goes to scum since they could NK someone else they are sure is not scum.

Benefits (of explicitly role claiming): Same as if you didn't explicitly do so. Since if you're a cop, scum would have to consider whether the doc would protect you or not.

But with added benefits, the doc would be more certain to protect you with the knowledge of your cop role. Plus, we could lynch somebody else instead today.

Good analysis Falzis.

@KevinH - You have nothing else to lose. It's time to role claim or die. When your back is to the wall you have to do what is best for you and the town. Falzis and the impending dead line has made it clear that it's time for you to role claim.

The "Day is almost Over" Votecount

KevinH - 6 (Electric Mango, molestargazer, Martino, Theophilos, angel of doom, Carl Vincent)

KevinH. I'm pushing for information because you are, most likely, going to die.

Don't you see?

If you're pro-town, you should not be afraid of giving away information and solidifying your position because that information can only help us when you are dead! That's the whole point of D1 lynches! INFORMATION!

I am townie-aligned. I have a role. That's all the information you need.

I will die. I will say "I told you so".

Your "I told you so" defence sucks. And it won't do anything to convince me.

I've given all of my reasons for asking you to reveal your role information. I'm not going to keep pushing you for it, it's your own decision. But you're not helping anyone. Not even yourself.

If you flip town, feel free to say I told you so (It'd be a waste of your time, but feel free to say it anyway). But I'm not so sure that's how you'll flip.

The only reason I can think of why you won't role claim despite the inevitability of your lynch is that if you survive D1, you will have to prove to us townie your role (ie. if you claim cop, we'll ask you who you investigated).

I'm not buying the "keep the scum in the dark until i die" argument as rebutted above.

finally... working net...

well, the way i see it kevin, you're at the end. and since you don't want to role claim something is off... as i said, i think you're either scum or a full (who wins if he gets lynched) or a mason. dunno why this setup makes me think there is something like that in the game. i mean, there are only 12 players here right??
