Mage Wars Mafia

It was quiet that night in Arcanus, as usual. It was around midnight, and most everyone was in bed asleep, or getting ready to go to sleep. Suddenly, powerful explosions rocked the town. The whole town shook as though it was an earthquake. Out of some windows, you could see colourful flashes of light. Then it stopped. Puzzled, afraid, and intrigued, the townsfolk got out of bed to investigate. They found the fields of Farmer Joe scorched badly, and here and there it looked as though there had been an explosion. Talking amongst themselves and putting tow and tow together, they soon realized that these were no ordinary explosions; they were caused by magic. Everyone headed back to their homes in fear and awe wondering what would happen next...

I think EM was the first to suggest only 1 scum voted for KevinH.

This leads me to believe that 2 or quite possibly 3 voted for KevinH.

Especially considering that scum most likely smelled blood in terms of eliminating a pro-town power role.

Bad news is that KevinH was a townie after all, but judging by there being only 1 nk, it would appear that there are no sk's.

Martino was the one targeted, which is kind of odd in a way. Martino and Mole were the ones who did the most to lead the charge against KevinH. With Martino gone, it leaves Mole as the primary pusher of Kevin's death. This makes me think that scum wanted to set it up this way so we would go after Mole next. Also Martino was one of our most veteran players, taking him 1st is what I expect other veterans to do as well.

Something tells me that there were more scum that did not vote for KevinH then there was that voted for him.

CD is the first one that comes to my mind. His late unvote on KevinH seemed suspicious, as if he wanted to seperate himself from lynching a known townie. He's also smart enough to know that the scum stand a better chance of winning if the vets are taken out 1st. He may also be after revenge for being nightkilled so fast in the last game by Martino and SJ.

FOS CD

Yep...he was the first to post on D2.

Although I don't know how to view this since he was described as a SK.

And usually a SK wouldn't know the other mafia.

But if they don't know each other...we can reasonably assume that at least one other scum voted for KevinH.

6 people voted for KevinH: Electric Mango, molestargazer, Martino, Theophilos, angel of doom, Carl Vincent.

Only mole, theo, AOD, and CV/Aquinas are left.

I'm still upset about all the failures on Angel of Dooms part to provide a solid role claim.

It lacked:

1. All subtle details that would suggest he was paraphrasing from a PM (i.e. roleplaying, actual abilities)

2. An explaination and understanding of his actual role

3. Specific details that were made up post by post as he was further pressed

4. Consistency (We caught him in a lie when he claimed he could choose to save someone only to later learn he could actually make no such choice)

I hope our detective checked him out last night. For now I believe that he is the single best candidate to be scum.

Vote: Angel of Doom

If he has been investigated and turns out to be townie, I'll supply my own fork to eat those words.

Otherwise I'm not sure. The arguments against Theophilos aren't particularly convincing. It seems to me that he made a commitment and then had some complications getting back onto the forum. I don't know what your comment about how people don't often change their vote indicates. I for one, change my vote all the time. I don't think that is a very accurate statement. I don't know, I think people switch often enough that it isn't "normal", but...I don't have the statistics.

I'm more concerned with hearing what people think about Electric Mango calling out Sir Jesus. I think it would be a pretty amazing scum strategy if it turned out to be true. It would require that the scum lied about a lot of townie power role claims. Also, seeing as thus far we have no contradicting power role claims it seems unlikely.

All in all, so far I think Angel of Doom is by far the most likely. He seems to have stocked up quite a bit or scum tells. However, I am convinced of Sir Jesus' role claim to this point and if he was indeed investigated I will change my vote or unvote, as abnormal as that may be. I'm not yet sold of Theophilos' scumminess but am eager to see some posts from him.

It takes 5 to lynch. I hope all of you don't decide to make a quick lynch as we have plenty of time until deadline.

@Aquinas - AOD is still on top of my scummy list. Theo...I'm not so sure. He definitely needs to post some more. BTW...why did you give a possible explanation/defence for Theo? As for EM calling out SJ...it's a possibility that someone was indeed controlling EM as there was only one nk but I don't think it's SJ.

Weekend is approaching and posting my usual 48 (possible 72) hr notice.

I might not get a chance to post on Friday.

CD.

i don't really buy that "someone is controlling my actions" post from EM. in a 12 person game the usual number of scum is 3 right?? so if there is a scum faction made of 2 scum and a sk we have that number. but if someone is controlling the sk we can't really call that person townie. so it would mean 4 scum in this game. that's a lot... even if they don't know each other, that's really too much.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to excuse any of his actions. I just meant to point out that the evidence that may qualify him as scummy was inherently faulty. You could have cited anyone as scummy with that evidence and I would have posted something similar.

and as i've said before i had to do my role claim a little bit at a time

i know for a fact that if i came right out with "hi i'm a doctor that has no control of who i protect and cant protect anyone of my choice until the person controlling me dies" would have gotten me lynched on the spot.

if EM didnt reveal his control aspect i would have never said anything about mine

Electric Mango, Demon(Self-aligned "SK"), lynched Day 2.

We know that EM was a SK. We know that only one nk was done on N1. So...

1. What EM said is true that he was controlled thus only one nk.

2. EM is lying and purposely didn't nk during the night.

Based on that, I'm thinking EM was telling the truth.

So we have a confirmed SK (1 scum). Now I agree that number of scum for a 12 player game is most likely 3 (comprising of 2 mafia and 1 sk). However, I don't see how you would come up with 4. The 2 mafia could easily be the ones controlling EM thus it still remains as 3 scum.

It really depends on how the game was setup.

That bolded sentence is true.

We might have reached a majority lynch prior to SJ roleclaim with that.

Let's see. A proven scum has said he can't control his actions (EM). A doc role claim says he can't control his actions (AoD). A proven townie can control his actions (SJ) - proven townie because he was right in EM being scum and that he can control his actions because he was able to investigate EM on N1.

I know, I know...

I'm re-reading alot of posts right now.

4 pro-town roles (ie. vig, seer, doc, controller) seems alot for a 12 person game.

I thought about maybe an independent wizard that was able to either sk or doc protect (that would explain both EM and AOD claim of someone controlling them). That could explain only one nk (made by mafia) if EM wasn't used and the independant wizard protected themself during the first night. But that just seems so complicated.

I SWEAR TO GOD NOBODY LISTENS TO ME. I CANNOT CONTROL MY POWERS. GAHHHHHH.

Maybe if I make it bigger people will actually listen and stop classifying me as a "cop."

uum... EM didn't nk cause he got lynched... and why give so much power to the mafia?? if they are indeed the ones controlling EM, wouldn't that mean 2 kills/night?? the only explication i found for EM's post that someone is controlling him is that there are 2 sk and someone is controlling them both. and he has only 1 night action. that's it... other scenarios are just too complicated to be true.

but that could mean quite a few power roles like... maybe... trackers and watchers... or maybe not :P

frankly, i'm confused :P

This game is confusing.

Umm...you never stated that you cannot control your powers. You said that you could see into souls. Are you being controlled like AOD?

If that is truly the case then I will have to believe in AOD roleclaim then.

EM didn't nk for N2 cuz he was lynched. But who did the nk on N1? If EM (a sk) was of his own free will...why wouldn't there be 2 nk instead of 1 on N1?

I'm not sure what to make of anything right now since SJ said he can't control his powers either.

Huh? Really? Well sorry if the impression I got was otherwise. So how did you "investigate" EM?

Oh and who did you "investigate" on N2? By investigate I would mean accidentally see the soul (since you said you can't control your power). >.>

This is confusing.

For my purposes...

Who I think are townies

Sir Jesus - pro-town...convinced us to get rid of EM.

Kaziocore - 2nd vote on EM ... could be a possible distancing vote but at this point unlikely.

mole - requested deadline extension for D2 (I doubt scum would want deadline to be extended) but voted for KevinH and AOD

Aquinas - unvoted AOD to prevent a quick lynch and my gut feeling.

angel of doom - roleclaim doc with similar limitations as SJ.

Who I think have a higher % of being scum

Junkahoolik - switched his vote to EM...could be that he realized it was a lost cause and tries to fit in with the town.

Falzis - not sure

Theopolis - was the 5th vote on KevinH before I unvoted...hasn't weighed in on AOD or EM prior to SJ roleclaim...maybe trying to blend in.

Dead

Electric Mango - sk

KevinH - pro-town vig

Martino - townie

I will be voting either one of them (Junkahoolik, Falzis, or Theopolis).

Huh? Really? Well sorry if the impression I got was otherwise. So how did you "investigate" EM?

Dude, I'm sorry about that. I just read through the thread and did not find my post. I made a huge post explaining my entire situation, but apparently the forums didn't register it.

For me, everything is done through chance.

Can you repost it?

So do you have any leads/guesses/suspicions?

Weekend is here.

Posting my 48 hr absence notice.

I'll check in but proabably won't post much.

Please please no quick lynches.

It screwed us in the past games.

If you must...put forth a FOS instead of a vote listing your reasons.

Again...please no quick lynches.

I'm not sure what to make of anything right now since SJ said he can't control his powers either.

Because EM can't use his powers while he's controller is still alive. See Backup.

If we were unlucky and we lynched the controller first, maybe two players will die each night.

I'm guessing that if his controller survived the whole game, EM will win with the mafia

But if his controller died, his win condition will be to kill everyone.

Nice find.

Not sure if that is the case here but I don't really know as I've never played a game with these twists.

well, considering what Em, SJ and Aod said, now i do believe his role claim. i just don't know who is scum... CD does a really good job at following the cop... so i think he's protown. mole, haven't heard from him today... the rest i really don't know what to believe about them.
