Both Rafay and Mazuurek haven't contributed much and stays that way even when warned

 

The differences are that Rafay is more experienced and might reveal more infos when lynched.

With today being a Monday, I would not expect to see a lot of posts by noon CN time when deadline hits. I think this is detrimental to us, because Lyner and KH have just brought Rafay to 5 votes while Mazuurek is at 3. Even if Rafay votes Maz now, it'll take two more in addition to him to overcome that, or require someone to switch from Rafay to Maz to shift the wagons. I'd like to at least give time for people to respond to the tie being broken before the day ends.

@TW: Can we get today's deadline moved back to update (midnight) CN time instead of noon? It would give people the evening hours to respond, in light of people being at work today.

We can't expect Wolfpacks to vote because they have claimed they will be away for a while. I know life happens, but it still strikes me what a devilishly good defense that would be to not be involved at the end of the day.

I could throw my vote onto Mazuurek and leave the door open for the wagons to shift if people choose to do so.... but between Rafay and Mazuurek I am not sure either is really scummy, just inactive. Even assuming both are town, I don't know who we could depend on LESS... and the fact that I am having to consider they could realistically both be town is frustrating.
Mazuurek seems to not be taking the game seriously; gone all of Day 2, and returns today with a pattern that seems random at best.
Rafay was away all of Day 2, suddenly returned at start of Day 3 to post a few times and then vanish again. Is he lurking now, or will he say anything now that he is the current lynch target?

A part of me still does not like/trust the way the Rafay wagon built up. KevinH voted Mazuurek and no one joined him; iSoc voted Rafay, and Kevin shifted to Rafay citing his #2 choice since his #1 choice Mazuurek was not going anywhere. And was quickly followed by Mazuurek bringing Rafay to 3 before anyone else got that far. But now we have wagons on both... if Kevin's #1 choice Mazuurek is now viable as a wagon over his #2 choice Rafay, why is his vote not there? Kevin's votes are increasingly worrying to me.

As for Mazuurek - he voted SM, then after Kevin changed his vote off of Mazuurek and onto Rafay, he voted Rafay. And then has not done much since.

So with EITHER of these wagons - what would they tell us? Particularly on the Rafay side I am not going to be inclined to let them shrug it off as "Oh we just went with an inactive" - there are scum votes in play too. I'd put good odds at both scum votes being on whichever wagon wins, which is currently looking like Rafay's.

Rafay Wagon: iSocialism I dont have a strong feel for, KevinH's too-impartial analysis and voting for #2 instead of #1 has a scummy feel to it, Maz I can't get a bead on, Lyner and KH just bandwagoned back-to-back at the end, but KH I had previously thought better of due to his D2 shift *FROM RAFAY* onto Lego.
Mazuurek Wagon: Finster remains a person of interest to me and an unresolved roleclaim. SM I have a good townie vibe from. Ali seems to be doing analysis to try and find scum, despite the earlier disagreement on Day 3 that really was a distraction.

The only 'known' townie is Samus, who is voting King Hitler - who is on the Rafay wagon. Samus suspects *both* KH's - Kevin and King. I am concerned about KevinH and Finster both, and they are on opposite wagons!

I can't spend much more time this morning waffling back and forth, so I will vote the one who is currently disturbing me the most...

Samus has voiced concern against KevinH as well, which is one sign - but also I keep getting a feeling of contradiction from him even if it is hard to put my finger on. He seems too impartial, even at Day 3.
I know this vote is unlikely to shift anything. It's possible a wagon will form if Samus joins me and others decide to jump on it as well, which would also reveal information. But moreover I am registering my thoughts and vote before the night, so that if I die Kevin and Finster will both be people of interest. If Rafay flips town, it will add more concern to Kevin. If Rafay flips Scum (and I survive) I will likely believe Kevin far more from here on out - but at this point I am not confident Rafay will flip scum.

I'm hoping TW will give us the extra hours tonight so people can actually have full use of the hours up to deadline, but we'll see. If nothing else, I am no longer on the sidelines with this vote.

I haven't claimed any role, so I haven't a clue what you're talking about. However, your accusations of me have me considering pointing a finger at you, my friend.

Also, I don't agree with extending the day. We've had a week, that's plenty long enough. Plus there's only 1 person not voting now, since you have, and he's had plenty of opportunity to do so.

I have said everything I want to, there's no point in me giving any more of my thoughts. Rafay is CLEARLY not scum after everything i've already mentioned numerous amounts of time people are still going against him, if he was scum he wouldn't have been on the lynch wagon on ONLY DAY 2, how can you people not see this?

 

King Hitler is scum and anyone else that can't see this are not really helping the town.

 

Also those who have kept their vote on Rafay are going straight on my scum list.

Difficult to type or quote on phone, but this is the line I have referred to Finster. This is a very strange thing to say if you'd simply didn't have a role at all, and it happened around the time samus teased their role too. I saw both as half claims to watch. I mentioned this as notable in previous posts, so it should not be a surprise to you at this point.

First of all what's wrong with this game - 3/4 of the day passes without much action and then at the end there's a storm...again

 

I'm now trying to wrap my head around what you've said Preston and I've read your post 5 times already. I know how you feel about Rafay / Mazuurek - I have similar feeling (though I always do - even when voting on someone who seem to be 100% scum I got that anxiety feeling "what if he's town?"), yet they put themselves in such negative light. Lurking is the easiest way to play and part of the scum team always do it (well, that means in two other games I've played so far).

We've made so shitty decision to wait, just talking in vain and doing no pressure (and I'm responsible for that too).

 

I'm not sure about Finster (though If I were forced to make my vote right now on who he's, I'd probably say "Town"), but I got some issues with KevinH (I don't like the way he's assembling his "reasoning machine" - as if he was trying to deny responsibility when it'll turn out he was wrong)...though not to they point I was going to vote on him (and I don't think there's time to get a wagon going anyway).

I think we were all waiting to see how things developed. I voted for mazuurek based on how he reacted to the accusations thrown his way, and some were substantial. He really didn't come up with anything.

Looks like he'll live another day unless a couple of votes change from Rafay (Tho its past 12:00pm CN time, so I don't see that happening)

I'm with you about that "What if...." nagging feeling Ali. I wish we had better answers.

After the Halloween commotion had died down and most of Gryffindor Tower was sound asleep, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and George sat in a semi-circle of armchairs staring into the fire. What had happened to Fred? Why hadn't he made it back to Gryffindor Tower? No one said a word for what seemed to be hours. 

 

An hour after midnight the silence in the room was broken by the creaking of the Fat Lady's portrait swinging open. In stepped Professor McGonagall with an exhausted but relieved look on her face. "Fred is okay" she said addressing the four of them. A sigh of relief emanated from George. "He is in the hospital wing recovering.He received a nasty blow to the head and was knocked out. Madame Pomfrey us tending to him. Hopefully you should be able to visit him soon but for now we have a Quidditch match to prepare for."

 

"That's right!" Ron exclaimed. "What will Gryffindor do against Slytherin without one of our Beaters?"

 

"Mr. Finnigan will be taking Mr. Weasley's place as Beater. Wood saw him smack a bludger pretty good the other day out on the pitch. It's not ideal but it's the best we can do on short notice."

 

The next morning Harry, Ron, and Seamus headed down to the Great Hall early for breakfast. Ron stuffed his face as usual but Harry just sat there quietly. "What's wrong?" Ron asked him. "Not hungry" Harry shrugged. Ron turned back to his plate and continued to gorge himself.

 

After breakfast they began their trek across the grounds to the pitch. Harry and Seamus parted ways with Ron when they reached the stadium and headed for the locker room. The rest of the team was already there watching Oliver Wood draw lines back and forth on a board with his wand. After a short team pep talk, Wood grabbed his broomstick and indicated that it was time to head out. He pulled Harry aside to talk to him briefly. Harry's nervousness was not eased though when hearing the story of Wood's first Quidditch game and how he had ended up in the Hospital Wing.

 

A couple minutes later Madame Hooch made her way to the center of the pitch and quickly addressed both teams and called for a clean game. The snitch was released and quickly darted into the sky and out of sight. She tossed the Quaffle into the air and the two teams zoomed off.

 

Harry soared high above everyone else searching for the slightest glint of gold while straining his ears to hear the call from Lee Jordan.

 

"...what an excellent chaser that girl is, and rather attractive, too --"
"JORDAN!"
"Sorry, Professor McGonagall."

 

Harry continued his search for the snitch. He flew from one end of the pitch to the other and circle the Gryffindor goal posts. And then, his heart began racing! At the far end he saw a glint of gold hovering mere feet above the ground. He zoomed in that direction darting toward the ground. The Slytherin Seeker had seen it too and took off after him. Midway through his dive, something went wrong. His Nimbus 2000 quickly darted upward and began thrashing in the air as if trying to buck Harry off. "What's the matter with Harry's broom?" Ron asked Hermione as he pointed at him thrashing in the air. As Harry darted upward, the Slytherin Seeker stayed on track chasing the Snitch. Witnessing this scene nearby Seamus Finnigan flew over and smashed a bludger straight at the Slytherin Seeker causing him to deviate from his course and lose track of the snitch.

 

Hermione glanced around at the crowd. Her gaze eventually fell on Snape. "Snape is cursing Harry's broom!" She squealed as she watched Snape stare intently at Harry, muttering under his breath. Hermione took off at a run until she reached the staff box. She stepped in behind the booth and drew her wand. Pointing it at Snape's cloak she muttered "Incendio". Sparks erupted from the tip of her wand and caught Snape's cloak. Professor Flitwick yelled "FIRE!" and everyone in the staff box scurried away. Snape leapt up to stomp out his cloak and knocked Professor Quirrell off of his seat.

 

Finally Harry was able to stabilize his broom and pull himself back onto it. Almost immediately he noticed another gold streak by the far goal posts and dove after the snitch. He closed in quickly and lunged. He hit the ground and slid along the turf. A moment later he stood up and nearly feel back over shakily. It appeared as though he was sick. Harry doubled over at coughed out the golden snitch into his hands. Realizing what had just happened he raised his hand into the air and the Gryffindor fans erupted.

 

"HARRY POTTER HAS CAUGHT THE SNITCH! GRYFFINDOR WINS!" came the call from Lee Jordan.

 

The rest of the Gryffindor team flew over and landed next to Harry to congratulate him. Harry did not wait for a congratulations though. He ran across the pitch and it was then that the rest of the team realized why. Seamus Finnigan was lying on the field lifelessly.

As Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall cleared the pitch and sent the rest of the school on their way, Ron, Harry, and Hermione slowly made their way back towards the castle.

 

"It was Snape." Hermione whispered to Harry. "He tried to jinx your broom. I've read all about jinxes. You have to maintain eye contact and Snape was not blinking. His curse must have shifted to Seamus and knocked him from his broom after I set his cloak on fire."

 

"Something is going on." Ron said.

 

"I need to tell you guys something." Harry replied. "The day that Hagrid and I were at Gringotts we stopped at a second vault. Hagrid said that it was for official Hogwarts business and that he couldn't tell me what he picked up. He just said that whatever was in that Vault was between Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel. I didn't know who Nicholas Flamel was so I left it at that. There was an article in the Daily Prophet last week about a break in at Gringotts. The Vault in question was Vault #713 which is the exact vault that Hagrid and I visited that day."

 

Ron looked puzzled. "Nicholas Flamel? I know I have heard that name somewhere before but I don't remember where."

 

"We need to figure out who Nicholas Flamel is then." Hermione muzed. "Let's start in the library!"

 

 

It is now day 4. The day will last until 12:00pm CST on Wednesday, July 20th.

Looks like either the scum were unsuccessful or didn't bother to lynch anyone last night.

Samus was correct in his assessment of Rafay. I'm also going to go out on a limb and state that he is 100% town.

We need to look at these people: Rafay (5): iSocialism, KevinH, Mazuurek, King Hitler, Lyner

as potential scum. After Samus stated Rafay was town, that's when this bandwagon seemed to start. I'm convinced that among these people are most of the scum.

I'm not convinced, as ths would paint a target on that roleblocker's back. We all ready know Samus has a role, and based on the night outcome I'm pretty sure he was protected. The scum had to go after him since his was the only claimed role.

I'm calling shenanigans. According to MafiaWiki:

A Commuter is considered Normal on mafiascum.net. If a Commuter is commuting, it is untargettable that night by any means, not even Strongman, Roleblocker or Ninja. Any role that attempts to target a commuting Commuter should be treated as though they are blocked (e.g. receive a "No Result" pm if they are investigative).

Emphasis mine.

I interpret this as meaning a Commuter basically can't be touched at night. Mod feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

That's right, I am Hermione Granger, a Town Cop.

I was expecting to be dead by now and left some pretty strong hints in my analysis postings, but since I'm alive and so are all my targets, it is now time to claim.

Night 1 I investigated Myrrdin Emrys (whom Preston replaced) and found that he was a Gryffindor Student.

Night 2 I investigated Ali bin Turban and found he was not a Gryffindor Student nor a Helpful Hogwarts Staff (cue the ominous music).

Night 3 I investigated iSocialism and found that he was a Gryffindor Student.

Vote: Ali bin Turban

My concern is that I might be an Insane Cop or that there may be a Framer in play, but I'll let the group debate that.
