  1. Judging by longstanding experience, it's really the latter with Lys.
  2. The fact that you typed this sentence is a testament to your complete lack of understanding international relations. It's like claiming Iran moved its nuclear program to the UK to circumvent sanctions - makes zero sense.
  3. As Blade said, you don't know that. until you have yourself tested for a. antibodies, b. T-cells. Both tests are available in private labs. Even then, you should still get the vaccine after you've had COVID, hell, it's the very first question on the list in the CDC's FAQ page. Although I suppose you don't trust the CDC, so this likely won't sway you one bit.
  4. I know some people like that too, makes zero sense to me.
  5. Well, at least you weren't deported to Gitmo! (I know - Washington Post! Fake News! )
  6. Yeah, the shots take a day or so to process for sure. I got the Sputnik V vaccine, and I felt pretty under the weather the next day, certainly couldn’t have gotten any work done. It was worse the first time though, the second shot wasn’t as bad. Luckily, it was scehuled for Friday, so I had the weekend to rest. My wife got the Moderna, she experienced a pretty unpleasant muscle pain, but that’s about it.
  7. That's what CTRL+F is for my friend.
  8. At this point, I wouldn't put it past the Chinese that not only it was a lab leak, but it was fucking 'Gain of Function' research. This shit will be the end of us all, if we don't put an end to it. If you have the time you might want to listen to this podcast to get a deep understanding of what we're dealing with: https://samharris.org/podcasts/special-episode-engineering-apocalypse/
  9. It's kind of insensitive to spam in this topic, you know.
  10. Damn, I'm so sorry HackSlash, you have my full empathy. We have an adorable cat, who is getting on in years as well (he's 12) although he's still completely healthy. Still, there are only so many years pets can live, and I dread the day when we have to make the same choice as you did.
  11. Now this, I'm happy to see! Welcome Back!
  12. Agreed! My position can be summed up like this: I'm an avid meat eater and would never consider becoming vegetarian or even reducing my meat consumption by much I am aware of the huge impact of the meat industry on both the environment and general antibiotic resistance I would immediately, 100% switch to cultivated (cell-grown) meat if they could accurately replicate the products I'm eating. For a fraction of my consumption, I would settle for slightly inferior products as well
  13. This would be so stupid if it were genuine, that I think she's actually trolling.
  14. It works well in Portugal apparently. I'm not against voter ID, but for it to be a requirement it should be the accepted norm to carry ID, and there should be cheap readily available government backed ID for those who can't carry a drivers licence but still able to vote and don't want to be lugging a passport around. I'm thinking something which can be issued in the $20 - £20 range. Essentially similar to a driving licence, name, pic, DOB and address. Would be great when you're newly 18 on a night out but not yet driving, or if you're disabled and unable to drive but need ID to do things like vote or open a bank account. I don't know what the system in Portugal is exactly, but in Hungary you have 3 options for identification - which is pretty much a requirement for any kind of administrative action from opening a bank account to voting. - Passport - Driver's license - Citizen ID Card It is mandatory for every citizen to have a Citizen ID Card, and you are obligated to carry one of the 3 on you at all times. They issue ID cards for a duration of about 5-10-15 years (depending on the age group), and it is completely free of charge. All one needs to do is to show up at a state administrative office and go through a 5 minute process. It's actually a system that works really well
  15. I think issuing every citizen an IDs is a very reasonable thing to do. BUT in this case, the process need to be free, accessible and mandatory.
  16. She can't be racist though, she's not white!
  17. Thanks for the info HackSlash! I think I'll give the game a go once I'm done with the games I'm playing now (which is Witcher 3: Blood&Wine and a Stellaris campaign)
  18. I've been eyeing this game, but I'm told some of the mechanics are very poorly implemented, and it's currently quite buggy. I might get it when they iron out the kinks in later updates.
  19. Hey, welcome back!
  20. OMG! Welcome back Planck!
  21. I seems nothing can be done about NK. As mentioned before, Trump (his general ineptitude aside) genuinely tried to make some sort of a deal with Kim, and that led nowhere. Really the best option is to keep the bastard isolated, sanctioned and his threats ignored.
