  1. On a side, but certainly related note, I you are a rational human being, and have no idea what the idiots that stormed Capitol Hill were thinking, here's a video by Jake Angeli, AKA QAnon Shaman (this guy: https://c.files.bbci.co.uk/E1C9/production/_116410875_angeli2-gettyimages-1294935359-1.jpg). It's worth a listen just to get a glimpse into far these people are gone: https://rumble.com/vc9k4z-history-from-dark-to-light.html . It's really like he's from some planet orbiting Proxima Centauri.
  2. And right here is the admission that it was never about facts for you (as you just ignored the inconvenient ones), but rather what you WANT to be true. Politics pandering to this kind of voter attitude would ruin human civilization, and the removal of Trump is a big step in the right direction, although we still have a very long way to go.
  3. To be sure, the US is in no position to lecture other countries about democracy after the presidency of Trump. Unfortunately this means that autocratic regimes now easily claim moral superiority and avoid scrutiny.
  4. It's fucking petty and pathetic, but did we expect anything different after this four years? The real danger comes from the fact that some very dangerous nutcases are willing to take extreme actions for him.
  5. Yes, it does. Congratulations. I knew how it would come out as soon as I saw DeKalb County holding back their count. Now everything will fall on the back of Joe Manchin of West Virginia... I wonder how much he wants to be in the history books? Heading into some very uncertain times. Tomorrow I dump my stocks, pay off my other house, buy two new guns, and I'm going dark for awhile. I will return when I know my family is safe. I'm not leaving the game, so you lose on that one. Good luck my friends. All right, we'll be here if you need us. See you on the other side!
  6. Do you even understand the ludricousness of this? Heck if you want to go down this path, please prove that Russia didn't interfere in the 2016 Election (hot tip, the GOP Senate agrees they did interfere!). It's the burden of proof rabbit hole. The reason why human society can function more or less is because the burden of proof almost always lies with the claimant (IMO that should ALWAYS be the case without exception, but that's wishful thinking). Had the reverse been true, society would immediately break down. In fact, disfunctions always arise arise when some demand proof of an accusation NOT being true, e.g. "NASA should prove that they DIDN'T fake the Moon landing", "prove that you are NOT racist", etc. In other news, it seems that the Republicans will lose the two senate seats. They can blame Trump for that.
  7. Well, trade policy is a big one, and it doesn't just effect Belgium, but the entire EU. Businesses on both sides are looking forward to finally being able to move past the Trumpian trade wars and a toxic customs policy.
  8. Agreed, signatures are a horrible was to identify someone. We had an issue at the company when the bank refused to accept the signature of an exec, because "it changed too much" compared to the originally submitted one. The helpful tip they gave in solving this debacle was that he should "try signing it more like the original" which they of course refused to show. In the end a rep had to come over and identify the guy face-to-face.
  9. The only upside to this story is that the new variant doesn't seem to cause more severe symptoms.
  10. Yep... that's the $2k club right there. Well, it was going to happen eventually
  11. Thanks for the input guys. It seems like a decent machine, but I probably won't buy because I'd like to transition to 4k gaming.
  12. What do you think of this rig: MoBo: Gigabyte B450M DS3H Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X Cooler: COOLERMASTER MasterLiquid ML240L RGB Memory: 24 GB - HyperX 3200 MHz DDR4 GPU: GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER OC 6G Power unit: Seasonic Focus SGX-450 SSD: SA400S37/240G HDD: 2TB HDD WD Blue WD20EZRZ Case: ZALMAN i3 series Edge I can get the whole chebang barely used for just under $1k. I fully trust that the seller is honest in the deal. So, what do you say? Should I go for it?

  14. For more context: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-55145989 If you want a comparison how big this story is here in Hungary, it’s like as if Mitch McConnel was caught in a similar situation
  15. Loosely related to the Coronavirus, but I would like to thank Belgian police for breaking up an unauthorized gangbang party. You have supplied us with many days of laughter good sir, and delivered a good kick in the crotch for our POS prime minister
  16. In the meantime, here's something that will shock you, because I guaran-fuckng-tee you weren't expecting this. Strong evidence now points to the possibility that China may have not been entirely forthcoming about the severity of the COVID situation. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/11/30/asia/wuhan-china-covid-intl/index.html
  17. Betsy, it seems that you’re radicalizing. I distinctly remember that up until about a month ago, you were only a Socialist What will you become next? Maoist? Stalinist?
  18. Biden took Pennsylvania and the Presidency. We knew it was going to happen for days now, but it's now official
  19. Classy statement. Very graceful. Agreed, I just wish more voters thought this way.
  20. Well, in their defense, it’s probably the nightmarish logistics of gathering, opening, authenticating and counting the mail-in votes, rather than laziness I have a couple of thoughts on the election, but I’ll share them when the result is in
  21. It's the incredibly convoluted voting system coupled with the fact - which always boggles my mind - that the US has no standardized national citizen ID system. - Some people have Passports, some do not. - Some people have Driver's Licenses, some do not - Some people have a Social Security numbers, some do not, etc, etc. I mean damn, just issue a number to your citizens at birth, and that's it. People who have an ID number are citizens and can identify themselves as such, and those that do not have one, are not citizens!
  22. Yeah, don't tell me about the boxes. We moved into the new apartment about a year ago, and sitll, half our things are in boxes.
