junkahoolik, Hospital Guard and COP, stabbed in the back N1. Narsis, Hospital Nurse and WEAK DOC, killed N2. Aquinas, inmate and TOWNIE, killed N4. Theophilos, COP, killed in endgame. I don't really like to toot my own horn, but my intuition was freakin' spot on this game. I had identified all three powerroles by the end of day 2 ... and Aquinas' position.

Falzis plays the role of "Logic Calirification Expert" whenever her plays mafia. When he acts as a townie, this works in the towns benefit as he moves the game along through analysis and literary simplification. It is really quite helpful and should not be assumed to be "scummy." If he is on the bad team, he will clarify things with an obvious bias. The trick is to analyz Falzis' bias, who he is defending more than others. Nobody here will be able to identify those trends on Day 1.

Narsis was chosen by my intuition. Sir jesus 16 06-29-2009 11:13 PM ET (US) So guys, what do you think? My gut reaction says to kill Narsis. Martino 17 06-30-2009 03:28 AM ET (US) I could agree with killing Narsis. EM 18 06-30-2009 11:42 AM ET (US) I'd be fine for killing Narsis as well. I was thinking him or Kevin, or even CD Sir jesus 19 06-30-2009 06:33 PM ET (US) I want to kill Kevin, but I feel like he has enough heat on him that the town may lynch him without our help. I feel like killing a replacement is less likely to take out a power role.I'm confirming the kill of Narsis with Mole now.

Martino 7 06-12-2009 02:32 AM ET (US) For me it is pretty much the opposite. I think this is the fourth or fifth game in a row that I am mafia. Anyway, about our target. I think you forgot about Narsis in the experienced player list; I believe he is a bigger threat than Falzis. With this few experienced players on the town’s side, it is actually a pretty hard choice If we eliminate Narsis and KevinH in the first two night, then we should be able to win. However if the town concludes that we were eliminating the experienced players, it will lead them straight to us. How about targeting Junkahoolik or Falzis? With this many inexperienced townies and because Sojourner is new, we may actually get them to believe he took one of his voters out himself. Of course, we have to be careful not to mention this theory ourselves. Electric Mango 8 06-12-2009 08:04 PM ET (US) I wouldn't mind targeting Junkahoolik and I agree with this strategy. I would rather have Falzis stay alive because he already gave me the pro town vote of confidence. Sir jesus 11 06-14-2009 03:04 PM ET (US) Sorry guys, been busy and poppin in and out really fast.I would agree with killing Junka, if you guys want to that can be our kill. As you can see, it was an highly analyzed decision.

Just read through the thread again, and noticed something particularly interesting. Watch the Vote Pattern of the second day: -KevinH FoS's Falzis -Martino + Theophilos vote Falzis -KevinH votes Falzis -EM votes KevinH -KevinH SFOS's EM -Narsis votes KevinH -Falzis votes KevinH -SJ votes KevinH -Narsis unvotes KevinH ->Nerau -Aquinas votes KevinH -EM unvotes KevinH with the following reasoning (extremely weak): This seems to me like a very well thought out plan by KevinH and EM. KevinH cast suspicion towards a vocal player, Falzis, but doesn't risk first vote. Once public begins to agree, he places his vote. There is now a strong case aganist a townie. EM begins his distancing move by placing an accusation against KevinH, and KevinH SFOS's back but does not return the vote. The public has noticed a playing style difference in KevinH and the day starts looking very bad for KevinH with a near lynch. EM then decides to change his vote to another candidate with one vote against them, and KevinH avoids being lynched on Day 2... I also think it's ironic that KevinH's accusation against me is "you voted to kill a townie in Day 2," when you specifically designed and carried out a hammer vote on Falzis. VOTE COUNT KevinH (1): Narsis II Sir Jesus (1): KevinH Not Voting (4): Theophilos, Sir Jesus, Martino, Kaziocore With 6 Alive, 4 is needed to lynch.

I'm thinking along the same line ... It seems like KevinH specifically wanted to place the hammer vote. Hmm... I must look through the thread again.

Also, my vote is bolstered by the sudden gamestyle change that Falzis has adopted. Everyone knows that a no-lynch is an awful strategy on D4 especially with the death of a doc and cop. Now that the heat is on him, his "pro-town" strategy is now to avoid a lynch and allow the scum to take us out one by one.

This is where all the evidence comes together, and I believe KevinH has presented that evidence much better than I could. Falzis, I think it is time for you to stop leading this town into the sad condition that is developing. I think the link between EM and Falzis has been pretty obvious, and the attempted distancing move EM carried out by voting for me followed by baseless assertions ("Next, that would mean that at least either Sir Jesus or Narsis is scum, and on D3, I couldn't imagine them to be scum. But of course, EM's death would more or less tell me that indeed at least one of them is scum.") that either Narsis or I are scum is an attempt to shift the town's attention from the mafia players. Now that the evidence has become more clear and concrete, I am fairly confident in my... Vote: Falzis So you could post this statement. WIFOM ftw!

"Damn, damn, damn, it really sucks that I was wrong." I'd have to imagine I'd say something like that. I feel like that is a relatively weak defense, any person in the game could respond with that question.

This statement really rubs me the wrong way... I mean really badly. You are correct, it is a bit random but we definitely shouldn't "just need to lynch someone and see where it goes from there." As Narsis said, our votes need to be based on educated decisions and not just try to move the game along. My vote is my only power and I treasure my ability to influence the game. I don't want to disregard any evidence, subtle or not." I really don't like that statement, and throughout this game I haven't had a good feeling about you... vote: KevinH

So do you believe that Kaziocore should be a lynch target? My gut tells me he's pro-town (he is pretty willing to sacrifice himself), and I never feel right about lynching someone not at the top of my scum-list. However, Kaziocore and others have concluded that he will not be that great of help to the town due to his newness. The real question is: is it more beneficial for the town to take him out, or to risk killing a more experienced player in hopes of him being scum? Right now I'm not so sure... I really don't think that is a viable reason to vote for someone. EM is not advocating that a power-role should reveal themself, he was just opening up the floor for potential strategies. FOS: Martino for attempting to stifle discussion by voting on those brave enough to speak. By the way everyone, have you thought about lynching nerau? At this point in the game it seems like he is just as likely as anyone to be scum, and its painfully obvious he will not be contributing to the town during the duration of this game. vote: nerau

Let me reiterate that I do not support the revealing of any roles, at the moment.

First of all, I'd like to say I'm having a really tough time getting a scummy read so far... The only evidence that has been presented is weak at best. Falzis has gunned pretty hard for the death of townies, but at the same time he showed strong pro-townishness by sticking his neck out and getting some information on the table. Personally I get too strong of good vibes for me to vote for him... This is tough... While I definitely follow your logic, I feel like we should still try to pick the scummiest person here for the lynch. The fact that Kaziocore is throwing himself to the grave voluntarily really seems to indicate that he does not have a power-role. I really haven't gotten any scum "vibes" from him and would like to keep him around, while aiming at one of the bad guys. Of course, all of it could be a very clever WIFOM. I think he's trying to say that Kaziocore may not be the scummiest target, but that his death would probably benefit the town more than anyone else's. While I tend to agree with you, a close examination of the 5v3 scenario can prove badly: -Pro-townie gets 2 townie votes placed no him -Scum dogpile the vote (4 townies left) -Scum carry out NK (3 townies left) Then the situation becomes 3v3, which is obviously ugly. My gut tells me to keep the pro-town roles safe and hidden, but mathematically this could be our last chance.

I assume this is what you are referring too. Personally, I believe this is very weak reasoning. The only thing I've done "wrong" was vote for the person I thought was the scummiest, and I happened to be a little late in getting to my computer... Lets consider my options in this situation. -Vote Sojourner ... The person I believed was by far the scummiest, this will result in a sure lynch of sojourner. -Vote No-lynch ... Not even really an option for me, this will result in a lynch of sojourner. -Vote Falzis ... Not the scummiest choice, Day ends with a no-lynch result and scum pick one more of us off. Essentially my choices were 1) Sojourner is lynched 2) No-lynch reult Which would anyone here choose? EM, you know my playing style very well. Whenever I see concrete evidence I will push and push for someone's death, and if there is not I generally play by intuition. If I see any glaring scumtells I will be the first to point it out, and I will equally defend someone I believe to be townie. So far this game I haven't seen much "real" evidence, which I partially blame on the Day 1 no-lynch. VOTE COUNT Falzis (2): KevinH, Theophilos Kaziocore (2): Martino, CanucksDynasty Sir Jesus (1): Electric Mango Not Voting (5): Nerau, Sir Jesus, Falzis, Kaziocore, Aquinas - Falzis will be V/LA until July 11th. - Nerau still needs replacing, I have no-one lined up, they're all busy. Anyone knows someone / anyone dead wants to do it, shoot me off a PM.

So I expected to have a decent internet connection while on vacation ... and am sorely disappointed. I glanced through last couple of pages and noticed some suspicion related to my late vote. Everyone needs to keep in mind, at that point in the game there was VERY little evidence to base a vote on (due to no-lynch on day 1). Falzis brought a very convincing piece of "evidence" to the table, and at the time it was the most substantial piece brought into the game. If I was scum I probably would have just laid low and let someone die. In this game my only source of power comes from my votes, and I'm going to use that power to the best of my scum-hunting abilities, even if it draws heat to myself. I've been asked for my 2 scummiest suspects in the soj-lynch camp... And I feel like that could be an excellent manipulation by CD. Everyone has been focusing on those who voted for soj, allowing 1/3 of the people (and potentially all of the scum) to stay off the radar. However if I must, I would guess Falzis and Kaziocore seem the scummiest.

Damn, damn, damn... I was sure that sojourner was scum, he easily had the most substantial evidence against him. And now two of our power roles have been eliminated. We need to tread carefully these next couple of days. If there is a "strong" doctor out there, please try to keep your identity as secret as possible. I know that sounds stupid, but the scum have been doing way to well to be lucky. Also, I'd like to keep our minds open to the idea of 2 enemy factions. This is mostly based on the fact that there were only 2 killers in the described scene, and I feel that a single scum faction of 2 would be too weak and unbalanced. Also, if there is a vig that has been silent so far I'd recommend that you make the most educated guess and do the dirty tonight. If this trend continues, we will be done for. Alive and STABLE? I wonder if someone here has the ability to make someone unstable? And what would that curtail? I can confirm that Stable is purely for flavour. There is only alive or dead. There are no special mechanics in this game. -M

uhhh yeah .... Unvote Vote: Sojourner

MSGSHCI - Game Thread
Wow Falzis, that is some pretty awesome detective work. While your argument is not bullet-proof, it is far more substantial than anything we've seen here so far. Keep in mind that if scum sometimes do not want heat brought on them by dropping the hammer vote, but I still don't see why they wouldn't push for an extra dead target so early in the game. Thus, there is a bit of WIFOM in play here but I do believe that Soj is scum. Vote: Sojourner Also, the fact that he has not come in here and defended himself also adds to my conviction to vote. Also, mole you can remove me from V/LA my health has improved a lot.
