  1. Well even then what was the whole point of the bran story line. Why did he have to go over the wall. Why did meera and jojen sacrifice their lives to save him. Why get all that power of seeing the past and basically do nothing with it. The only thing of inerest he actually did was confirm that Jon is not a bastard. Otherwise he had no role in fighting the others. Huge disappointing plot hole if all that was for nothing.
  2. I doubt the Night King/Others story arc is over and done with and what we have left is internal squabbles for the throne and a final showdown with Cersei. This will be very very disappointing if that is the case. I highly doubt GRRM had this ending planned out..so unless the TV show writers completely ignored GRRM's plot, I am pretty sure there will be more to it. For example, it was never really explained why the Night King wanted to kill Bran so much. What was Bran's role in all this? He had zero effect in the battle..what made him so important that he had to be killed? Where was he warging to during the whole of the battle. There were theories around about Bran = NK which may still hold some water. Anyway, hopefully there are still some twists in the story remaining, or this season will be the biggest let-down in the history of tv shows.

  4. Thats a great insight. You are probably right.
  5. Season's 1 & 2 were awesome. Season 3 was really dull so I didn't miss it when they cancelled the show. Movie may be good though..depending on who's directing it.
  6. I would say he came over from Australia to New Zealand to commit this terrorist attack because of the shamefully loose gun control laws in new Zealand. Also the new Zealand police were completely unprepared to respond to this kind of event...it took them 20 minutes to respond from the first call that went in.
  7. Not really into animated movies.
  8. Watched a few more Watched: 1. Deadpool 2 (7/10) 2. Avengers: Infinity War (9/10) 3. Antman and the Wasp (8/10) 4. Black Panther (7/10) 5. Upgrade (8/10) 6. The Ballad of Buster Scrubbs (8/10) 7. Alpha (7/10) 8. Blackkklandsman (6/10) 9. A Quiet Place (7/10) 10. Ready Player One (8/10) 11. Mission Impossible: Fallout (7/10) 12. Leave No Trace (6/10) 13. Pacific Rim - Uprising (6/10) 14. Fantastic Beasts Crimes of Grindewald (7/10) 15. The Cloverfield Paradox (6/10) 16. The Pagan King (6/10) - started with promise, ended with a whimper 17. The Shape of Water (8/10) - surprisingly good. 18. The Rider (6/10) - boring 19. Game Night (6/10) - meh 20. Venom (9/10) - awesomeness! 21. 12 Strong (7/10) - not too bad 22. Three Identical Strangers (6/10) - ok To-watch List: 1. Sicario 2 2. Other Life 3. The Wife 4. The Mid 90s 5. The House that Jack Built
  9. Time to change your avatar
  10. hhmm..a serial killer movie. Looks like something I would like. Thanks for the tip..will check it out.
  11. I saw it too. I will give it 7/10. Lots of action and great stunt work, specially considering Cruise does all the stunts himself, but the story was kinda meh. Also saw a few other movies (end of the year binge-watches), but nothing that are really that good: Leave No Trace (6/10) - way too slow and pretty much nothing happens. also cant relate to how someone can leave his child to stumble through woods. Pacific Rim - Uprising (6/10) - good visual effects, crap story Fantastic Beasts Crimes of Grindewald (7/10) - my wife loved it. For me it was just ok...nothing to write home about The Cloverfield Paradox (6/10) - interesting concept but it seems they were actually confused whether to make this a sci fi/horror/comedy/mystery resulting in a jumble of crap
  12. So I caught up with some of the movies in my watchlist: 1. The Ballad of Buster Scrubbs - Loved it. Great short stories set in a great landscape (i love westerns) with characters you get to like even though you see them for like 10 mins. Rating 8/10 2. Alpha - It was good, but not as great I was hoping for. Story a bit weak but really loved some of the landscape shots. Rating 7/10 3. Blackkklansman - meh. Rating 6/10. 4. A Quite Place - I was thinking of not watching after 10 mins. Movie without any dialogues not my cup of tea, but however kept watching bc they kinda tried to keep things interesting with revealing about the monsters/aliens. Big gaping plot holes but satisfactory ending. Rating 7/10 5. Ready Player One - This was entertaining. For anyone who has played MMORPGs the movie will be instantly relatable. Not a bad plot although probably more directed towards teens. Rating 8/10. Will be watching mission impossible next. Anymore recommendations? Update Watched: 1. Deadpool 2 2. Avengers: Infinity War 3. Antman and the Wasp 4. Black Panther 5. Upgrade 6. The Ballad of Buster Scrubbs 7. Alpha 8. Blackkklandsman 9. A Quiet Place 10. Ready Player One To-watch List: 1. Mission Impossible: Fallout 2. Sicario 2 3. Venom 4. Other Life 5. The Wife 6. The Mid 90s 7. Three Identical Strangers
  13. ps: just checked out Ballad of Buster Scruggs ....a Coen brothers film! biiig fan of their movies..dont know how this movie passed under my radar. Will definitely be watching this. Some of the best shooting & story telling I've seen in years. Enjoy! Just saw it. It was very good as expected. I liked the 5th story the best. The 6th one went a bit over my head..I will probably need to watch that one again. Havent heard of the first 3. Will check these out. Because it was just released a week ago. I would have already watched it but I'm in the middle of the laborious task of reading all the subtitles in the new Narcos: Mexico series. Narcos is the only series I force myself to watch with subtitles, because it's always so good. Narcos is pretty awesome. Havent started watching the new season yet though.
  14. ps: just checked out Ballad of Buster Scruggs ....a Coen brothers film! biiig fan of their movies..dont know how this movie passed under my radar. Will definitely be watching this.
  15. Basically a fan of superhero and sci-fi movies, but also watch dramas and historical movies as long as the story is good. Havent heard of either of these films so definitely will be checking these out. and exactly the reason I posted this thread to get lead to good stories out there worth watching. Read good reviews on both so will be adding both to my watchlist as well. thanks! Dont watch animated movies. I think the last one I watched was wall-e not a queen fan, so will skip the queen movie. Heard of both Ready Player One and A Star is Born. The Spielberg movie I will definitely check out, but not sure about the star is born. Not too big on romantic-music related movies. Also heard that Sicario 2 isnt as good as the first one, but Sicario 1 was pretty awesome, so will watch part 2 anyway.
  16. Guys post your favorite movies of 2018. I hardly got to see any movies this year (two toddlers can really drain out all your free time) and would like to catch up on some of the good movies released this year. I have only watched the following this year: 1. Deadpool 2 2. Avengers: Infinity War 3. Antman and the Wasp 4. Black Panther 5. Upgrade Have the following on the to-watch list (reviews?) 1. Alpha 2. Sicario 2 3. Venom 4. Mission Impossible: Fallout Anything else I really should have watched?
