  1. I get punched in the face regularly already. That explains a lot, actually. You're likely to get burns from the strike, anyway, but that's offset by the chance to develop bitichin' superhero powers.
  2. Oh, dear, oh gawd, must behave, musn't expose the chitlens to filthy mind. Screw it, I'll just spoiler it Or an Arby's roast beef sandwich with the sauce. Wait, that bears a remarkable resemblance to the specific body part referred to in my spoilered answer...
  3. So does that mean that the constant stream would let you fly? I might want to change my answer.
  4. Question 1 is me exactly. I am not one of any of those three pokemaniacs so you got it all wrong. My friend would go nuts on you. It's fairly obvious that you're the second panel.
  5. Better than Pokemon. Here are your typical Pokemaniacs. http://art.penny-arcade.com/photos/217524008_Vvt7q/0/1050x10000/217524008_Vvt7q-1050x10000.jpg
  6. Yeah, it really would. Not really. It's possible to have a dry surge. Especially after a bunch of times in a row. Your body only holds so much at any point in time.
  7. I'd like to join. Estimate of how long it takes to get the hang of things? Took me about a day.
  8. 1. Elder Wand: see all of my arguments for the superpowers. Talking to the dead isn't exactly exciting. As GITP put it: "If they really knew anything, they wouldn't be dead." 2. It should be well understood by now that I'm borderline masochistic and a person that enjoys misery (see willingness to discuss topics with Tywinn). As Simpsons put it, "Hmmm, one dollar for eternal happiness. Meh, I'd be happier with the dollar." Plus I'd be giving that money away to friends and family, so I don't mind suffering so others benefit. 3. I spend most of my fun time not orgasming, anyway. Sex != orgasm. Kama Sutra, much?
  9. Question #1: It should be obvious that I say everything aloud already. It's one of my charms. Question #2: Hiccups based on pure livability. I have whole body sneezes. Question #3: Harry Potter fanboy. Even though that means I enjoyed childrens' books in my twenties (didn't discover them in high school). And now I feel creepy. Thanks a lot, Warrior.
  10. If you've ever seen the Cracked video on the same question, you'll understand that the biggest nerd objection to all of these is that they are useless/dangerous without access to another power. I've spoilered a summation of them if you want to be spared the geekery My favorite superpower would be Longshot's ability to manipulate probability. It's so cheesy that Marvel had to invent reasons it was bad. Hello lottery! Goodbye red lights at intersections!
  11. You already outgrew me. You might have a socialist paradise that makes people secure enough to have children, but I have a mandatory child quota that every household must meet. Those unwilling to make sweet love will be shot. Plus I found a feature that you didn't.
  12. I'm already special. They told me so in school.
  13. I decided to try it out. The military system seems a lot more interesting since you have single-player missions in addition to regular warfare.
  14. Depends on your goals. ISIS requires more resources to control because it has more material to fight with. However, ISIS as an organization is easier to defeat because those resources are physical and can be taken away. Just look at the Taliban, who have largely lost their power in Afghanistan. Al-Queda's resources are largely immaterial, so they are are harder to take away. As long as a Muslim feels that their faith is under attack, Al-Queda will exist. That attack does not even have to be real. So any fight against them is largely ideological and requires equal parts diplomacy, public relations, and actual fighting. This is a long war, but other terrorist organizations have been defeated. If you want to see how, read "The Other Path" by Hernando de Soto for an example of educating the public on the true path to prosperity and providing the tools for them to make it. The problem most of these organizations have is that they will always be limited by the amount of discontent in their audience. If Western and local powers work to address that discontent, then the power of terrorists will wane. It's important to recognize that Arabic Islam is undergoing a cultural growth process that the West went through in the early 1900s. Anarchists & Socialists during that time killed politicians, occupied factories, and threw bombs into crowds. Cults continue to be a problem in the West. If the Branch Davidians had existed in the unstable reaches of Syria, they'd be as much of a problem as ISIS. Arabia's cultural progress was halted by colonialism, but is now proceeding at breakneck speed. Going from tribalism to democracy is not an easy task, especially since most citizens trust their local leaders more than their government and have yet to embrace nationalism. We should help promote stability in the area and oppose anyone that essentially declares war on the world (like ISIS), but peace will only come as the area matures first into nationalist ideas, and then pan-nationalist ideas.
  15. You can do that in Paradox games with mods. They make all of their data files easily accessible and notepad friendly for a reason.
  16. Yeah, but in the 90s, those games couldn't have even existed on the level they are now. So people got their strategy on with RTSes, instead. Now that there's a more satisfying way to scratch the itch, that portion of the RTS audience is going away. I'm one example (played the Warcrafts, Dune 2, AoEs, and the Starcrafts, but haven't touched an RTS in years, while I've put hundreds of hours into nation sims). Micro-control is better suited to the action RPGs, since you have more control of the characters. That leaves the RTS in an awkward niche between two genres that better suit those needs. Some innovator could find a way to revitalize the genre, but you can't just re-skin the mechanics anymore and make a profit, like you could in the 90s.
  17. http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/0/9408/727007-950820083_00.jpg Ah, Dune 2 and taking down the Atriedies menace with Harkonnen nukes. I think the RTS is a victim of the increase in nation sims (Paradox games, Civ, etc.). The arcadey action of old style RTSes worked well with the technology of the time, but tastes have turned to the more complex sims as computer specs got better. Players that want strategic action go to your LoLs, instead. Crime/FPS games may have a small impact, but their audience is pretty different from your standard strategy player. Their growth is more likely from non-gamers joining the hobby than existing gamers abandoning other genres. These genres are the easiest to understand and play, so they attract a more casual audience looking to blow off steam. Strategy players enjoy puzzling out play mechanics and developing system efficiencies, which isn't going to be satisfied with an FPS.

  19. Yes, but interrupting an art show in Texas is bad form. Just not cricket.
  20. They had the same problem in Garland, Texas this week. Rude.
  21. Is the CIA taking notes? This contest was a whole lot cheaper than Afghanistan. Reminds me of the sting operations that invite fugitives to receive free TVs at the police station. "Get your 40 virgins here! One time only!"

  23. Yeah, anyone who isn't willing to negotiate for a raise will never get one. This sad fact is why the average job stay has become 2-4 years rather than the lifetime that Baby Boomers had. Less than 2 years doesn't give you enough time to master your position and give your employer a positive return. More than 4 years without a promotion means you aren't getting one. Smart management recognizes the benefit of rewarding competent employees, but most would rather have bigger bonuses than lower turnover.
  24. Who are you supposed to be? Montosh? 6/10
