  1. No one has ever been fired for being a Socialist, Progressive, Democrat, Gay, or even an employee of a former President... (that was a joke). Please educate yourself before you talk about things you clearly know nothing about. I apologize if I was incorrect, as it was I admit an unfair assumption, and an assumption. However I still believe that it's a fairpoint that FOX News is heavily biased against Liberal policies and viewpoints, given that it was created under the premise of being a Republican News station, and also that it is owned by Rupert Murdoch would help fuel that point. Either way, it's still heavily biased to Conservative viewpoints in its news, as A&E is biased toward Liberal viewpoints and mindsets in its shows, and is an example of a bias for the opposing 'side'. I am sorry if my statement was false, and I'll attempt not to fall into a pit like that again, but my point stands that it is biased toward Republican ideals.
  2. I agree with everything you say, but I try my best to not see religion in a negative light. At one point it sought to unify cultures. The Crusades for example it was a tool that brought most the Christians together and compelled them to fight for their country without any pesky 'morals' holding them back. (Though they did commit heinous atrocities as well and that's bad, but a huge boost in morale and ferocity) That and also I, as an evolutionist, see that most religious laws have at least some modicum of reason to them. If their culture didn't have traits favorable to their success or wellbeing, they'd die out or be wiped out by other cultures. Things that made sense at the time. Of course a lawbook from 2000 years ago is irrelevant in modern day, it's a fascinating study to look at from an objective light to try and grasp the reasoning behind those 2000+ year old laws. Other than that, I totally agree with you about everything (and to an extent the religious thing, as great unity of one culture leads to mistrust of another) Most my Facebook friends list just picked a side. Atheists saying someone was finally cracking down on all that hogwash. Christians saying that asking an old Christian man his views on homosexuality and race was a bad idea and that he had a right to free speech outside his show. (to a degree I believe in both sides) While I like watching conflicts between two opposing viewpoints, it seems to me like the answer is usually somewhere in between.

  5. I don't see why people pick sides on the issue when A&E is an outspoken supporter of the LGBT movement and removed Phil for the sole reason that he was a PR liability. It wasn't really how he said what he said, it was how he put them that was crude not PC enough for A&E to feel comfortable having him speaking out this way. In the end it was all to save money, and the added controversy gives the show more attention. I'm sure that, if there's money in it, they'll put him back on the show depending on the side most people pick. Makes me sick to think of how people see this as religious persecution when it's just a private television channel deciding what works best for them PR-wise. Fox News'll throw a newscaster off if he or she is a socialist, I just see this as an example on the other side. Now I don't condone people getting offended at this at all, everyone needs to be more confronted by different viewpoints, so that they understand their side the only side, and that others often think differently. But at the same time, I guess that a private cable TV channel really isn't the best place to get that.
  6. Not sure if NSFW, but this one comes to mind. One of many weird dreams. Here is one I had at the ripe old age of 15. I learned I was pregnant. I don't remember how this happened, but it was something I stumbled across during my day. Thoughts rushed through my mind "Holy crap, how will I ever take care of this child? Will my family be supportive? Will my girlfriend leave me? I hope not, she would certainly not like to hear this." Then immediately after this rational thought came, "I'm hungry. Wait a minute being pregnant gives you cravings and you need lots of nutrients. I can totally gorge myself all I want now. Time to find some food." My family was informed, they were not pleased, but accepting. Fast forward to dinnertime, still hadn't told my girlfriend. Was wondering what she'd think of my pregnancy still. All of my anxiety disappeared as I saw 4 pizzas open up on the table, a chicken alfredo pizza? I'll eat half of it in 45 seconds flat. As people looked at me in shock, I uttered the words "Shut up I'm pregnant." Somehow this transitioned into me going for a walk in what seemed to be a building made of well-kempt bushes and shrubs, no ceiling. Like a hedge maze, but with wood panel flooring. Worry and doubt and anxiety over my pregnancy scared me. Nothing but negative thoughts throughout the walk, until I found 'it'. 'It' was a distraction from my troubles. Food. A tree. A tree with GRAPES instead of LEAVES. The holy grail of delicious fruits and nature. It was beautiful. I ran toward it and tore grapes from the branches, shoving those sweet green fruits into my mouth and chewing as fast as I could. God were they juicy. I just kept ripping them from the tree and shoveling them into my head like I hadn't eaten in years. A security guard looked at me funny. I figured it was his job to protect the tree. "Shut up, I'm pregnant." ***END DREAM*** No, I am not female. I am a straight male. Dreaming that I, as a straight male, had become pregnant and feared that my female significant other would leave. Despite that this dream made almost no sense, and also implied that you should chase your problems away with food (or chase them away at all), it did give me insight into the actual emotions regarding a surprise pregnancy. It imbued within me a form of empathy that certainly helped me grow as a person. (Only the second dream I had about a scary surprise pregnancy that imbued me with empathy and fear, the other one making even less sense and being a horrendous nightmare that completely penetrated my day after I had woken up, giving the entire 24 hours a surreal atmosphere.)
  7. I like orchestrated classical scores, and modern orchestrated scores as well. A lot of it is that I just really really enjoy music that has emotion in it. Music that makes you feel something. As long as it isn't angsty anyway, because once something gets angsty I just start to feel weird about it. Maybe it's my view of the world, I dunno, angst just rubs me the wrong way. A big fan of alternative rock, though it's a pretty diverse selection of music. Just tends to be where most the stuff I like lands. 80's rock. Other than that, I generally find things I like in most genres of music, just at a lesser rate than those posted above. Hate screamo, though. Intellectually I understand that it's a much more complex form of singing, and difficult to master. Ear-wise, it just sounds like screeching to me.
  8. Oh yeah, and about this, if you total up the averages on all the correct answers in the end for each age group, the majority of young people do seem to get a passing grade, at the very least. (I know you aren't supposed to do math like this, I'm just pretty sure it's a minority that actually fails.)

More instinctively pet. No matter how much more I wanted the laptop or artwork my morality would force me to save the living being. If you had the ability to change the past, would you rather save the life of Trotsky or Malcolm X? Assuming saving one negates the ability to save the other.
  14. Likely the buffalo jerky I had a year ago. Wasn't very good, to be honest. Certainly interesting. Makes me realize why we eat the animals we eat. Oh and Yates, I am intrigued, if you have the recipe you should totally share it on the foodies thread if you haven't already. When was the last time you posted on Iron Central forums? P.S. Realized 'boxed macaroni' isn't exactly very clear. Meant more specifically Kraft macaroni and 'cheese' and off brands.

Share and discuss the best jokes you know. I'll start with this one. An inifinite number of mathematicians walk into a bar. The first mathematician says, "I'll have a pint." The second mathematician says, "I'll have half a pint." The third mathematician says, "I'll have a quarter of a pint." The fourth mathematician says, "I'll have an eighth of a pint." The bartender says, "You're all assholes," and pours two pints.
  16. 12/13, because I stupidly get nitrogen and hydrogen mixed up in my head. Oh well. Pretty damn general though. To redeem myself I'll mention that, if that were correct, we'd have never existed nor would land mammals. However a highly evolved race of merpeople would be cool as hell.
