Yeah I remember spending time restarting a game so I could go back and trade the starters for R/B/Y.

Blastoise, Pidgeot, Arcanine, Onyx, Gengar, Scyther if I remember right, this was the setup I used throughout most of the game. I did nearly capture all of the pokemon both times but these 6 were most used. Typhlosion, Meganium, Feraligatr, Oynyx, Skarmory, Gengar - if you used the duplicate glitch to get all 3 starters.
