I'm not dead yet. Those that want me dead should have suspicion on them. I'm scratching my head, too, regarding advice in the role PM. Whether I am a cop, a doc, or anything else shouldn't matter to other townies. The scum would like the information for deciding whom to target at night.

Advice that I should for anyone? I followed it. Advice that I shouldn't vote for somebody I didn't really want to lynch? I followed it. Advice that I should role-claim? That doesn't make sense. Why not just ask everyone to role-claim? I like the subtleties of the game. I like the uncertainties of the game. I only know what my role PM says and I don't know if the other role PM's match it. For all I know, the scum might have a better understanding of my hints than a regular townie. To those that think I am probably townie but still want to lynch me, I ask you what the next step will be. When I am revealed as a dead townie, will you suspect those that voted for me? Do you suspect them now?

If the strategy is to lynch just anybody, then I agree that I am as good a target as any. If the strategy is to lynch scum, then I am a very poor target.

If I role-claimed: The mafia will want to night-kill me but might avoid it because maybe I'd be protected. The mafia posing as townies would say they didn't believe me and still try to lynch me. But wait, that's happening anyway ...

Really? Only scum would force a townie to role-claim on day 1. If I were truly scum, I could claim that I had a critical townie role and that lynching me would be a huge mistake. If I said that, would you believe me and change your vote? However, I am truly townie. Lynching me will be a mistake, but that doesn't seem to matter, does it?

I was trying to say that Theophilos didn't have any votes against him and thus my vote against him wouldn't put him in danger of lynch. The "he might be scum" was an attempt at humor by giving a very very weak justification for my vote.

This quote is why I believe it ends today. An alternative interpretation could be that "even if somebody gets 8 votes, you can keep talking until I get back on the 21st". Regardless, I'm ready for the day to end.

Do you really need this lynch? No you don't. To lynch is to risk killing off a townie. The odds favor that. Worse still, you risk killing a townie power role. That said, there's no hard feelings on my part (and maybe next game you'll believe me). There are certain truths in this game. One is that on day 1, nobody really knows anything. However, I'll give the vital information as requested by Mole. I've dropped a few hints from my role PM throughout my postings. Sir Jesus and Falzis may have picked up on them when they defended me so they are probably pro-town. Electric Mango, Molestargazer, CanucksDynasty, Martino, and Theophilos certainly didn't pick up on them so there's probably a scum or two amongst them.

I believe the deadline is today.

Is the town better off if we don't lynch a townie? Yes. Is there information to be gained from someone's voting patterns? Yes. So while I still believe it is better to go into the night with one more townie, I have decided that it doesn't hurt anything to vote and let those who think it means something do their analysis. A vote of No Lynch is only more useful if a majority want the day to end immediately without a lynch. If the four players voting for me think the town will be better off if I am lynched, so be it. But when I am revealed townie, I hope the remaining players will consider the very weak excuses used to place the votes on me and think that maybe scum just might use very weak excuses to lynch a townie.

I'm the first to half-majority so things aren't looking good for the home team. I appreciate the support from my friends... I just noticed that rule 9 makes play different than usual. When Narsis gets back, I'd like clarification. Who gets to continue talking and for how long?

Actually, I think mafia is about playing with "friends" and I don't mind pleasing them. Somehow I've earned four votes while trying to investigate reactions to my play. It's a bit naive to think that my actions are scummy; I'm only trying to help.

I currently am voting no-lynch. I firmly believe that "nobody knows nothing" on day 1 and that it is not optimal for the town to risk lynching a power role. In previous games, I've seen the votes get distributed to several candidates and nobody gets lynched (hurray!). Nevertheless, I am accused of scumminess for advocating optimal townie play (usually by scum, I'm sure). If I place a vote on a non-lynched candidate, both sides might be happy.

Just to compromise, I might put a vote on someone who is not in danger of getting lynched. Somehow that seems to make a difference to some players.

That was well-played by the scum. Martino was the least suspicious so deserves lots of credit. EM set up Falzis so he gets credit, too. Regarding my towniness, "I told you so!" EM: were you role-fishing just prior to getting lynched?

Well, what can I do to prove my towniness other than die? The three votes against me could easily be misguided townies, and Sir Jesus hasn't voted yet ... This post is where I quoted Aquinas and Falzis. They both suspected Sir Jesus. Falzis also added Narsis. I thought the voting patterns made Sir Jesus the best choice but there are already three votes that disagree with me. Unvote: Sir Jesus Assuming there are 2 scum, Narsis is my next choice. Vote: Narsis II Theophilos and Sir Jesus: if you are townies, I urge you to vote for Narsis with me. Maybe one of the townie votes on me will shift to make is a lynch. If there are 2 scum and I die, then the town loses. If there's only 1 scum and I die, then please consider what I have posted. Lots of activity, so here's another quick count. I guess I like bad mods then. I want it to be subtle so that it's not obvious as we are playing. However, when looking back I enjoy the moment of "oh, that was clever" when I finally am enlightened.
