  1. If I were Sojournor and I were scum, I wouldn't want to be lynched day 2 so it makes sense to kill one of the players that was attempting to lynch me day 1. If I were scum, I would want to lynch somebody, anybody, day 1. Call it a quasi-vote if you want, but at this point it is better evidence than anything else on the table. However, the case against Sojourner is weak because if I were scum I would kill somebody that voted for Sojourner so it looked like Sojourner was scum. A big WIFOM ... Regarding those that didn't vote day 1, I withdraw any previous FOS. It might as well have been a vote to no-lynch. SFOS: Electric Mango and Falzis
  2. I spelled Falzis wrong in the previous post. Sorry. It was in the scum's interest to lynch on the first day. Only 2 of the remaining players actually tried to lynch. Hmmm ....
  3. OK FOS: Electric Mango and Falsis If Sojourner had been lynched and found to be innocent, the suspicion would have been on them.
  4. Junkahoolic had his vote on Sojourner. Junkahoolic got killed. FOS: Sojourner
  5. Maybe there are 2 cops ... OK, maybe not. I think the scum just got lucky. On day 1, nobody knows nut'in'
  6. There are 13 of us so if 1 is the cop, then the chances are 1/13. (You can more correctly deduce that a person who is not the cop has a 1/12 chance of lynching the cop.) If there are more pro-town roles, we don't want to lynch them either. So if we additionally have a doc and a tracker that makes the chances 3/13 of hetting the really good guys.
  7. Sometimes there are scenarios that give clues about the game. Sometimes they are just "fluff" without real meaning. To give more context, here's more of the quote The "few people left on patrol" could easily be non-playing characters, for all I know. On the other hand, they could be trackers or masons. I'm not concluding anything -- just throwing out a suggestion.
  8. It's a stretch to conclude there are masons or trackers but I don't think they are that powerful that they would unbalance the game. There is a voting history whether we lynch or not. Those that push for a lynch are known whether the lynch actually occurs or not.
  9. I think I'll overanalyze the scenario. The patients are townies. We have a Nurse (doc role?). We have a guard (cop role?). There are others on patrol (masons or trackers?) One special patient (serial killer or godfather?) Just my thoughts ...
  10. Is not voting any different than voting no lynch? Not really, unless a majority votes for no lynch then the day can end early. With Sojourner having the most votes at the moment, there will be a few misguided souls who pile on "because we have to lynch somebody". There's only a 25% chance that Sojourner is scum. (Misunderstanding the cop role is not a very strong scum-tell in my opinion.) The scum would love to have one less townie. Will they get their way? Or will we coast into the deadline without a lynch? Note that at deadline, only a half majority is required to lynch so that would be 4 votes by my count. VOTE COUNT sojourner (3): Electric Mango, Falzis, junkahoolik KevinH (1): Sir Jesus No Lynch (1): KevinH Not Voting (8): Kaziocore, Aquinas, Narsis, Theophilos, Nerau, Martino, Calderone, sojourner With 13 alive, 7 is needed to lynch. I'll check for inactivity and send prods THIS EVENING, to allow for the weekend lull. Deadline is THIS THURSDAY. AS OF PAGE 12, IF ANYONE EDITS THEIR POST, THEY WILL BE MODKILLED, REGARDLESS OF INTENT.
  11. I agree that the scenario probably has fitting roles. I could envision orderlies, nurses, security, janitors, and visitors in a mental hospital. It's the MSG Secure Hospital for the Criminally Insane (MSGSHCI). Does MSG stand for MoleStarGazer or MonoSodium Glutonate? The first one.
  12. I am not a serial killer for sure. Does this statement carry as much weight as the one saying I am not a cop?
  13. I will be a bit inactive this weekend. But everyone else is usually inactive so nobody will notice anyway.
  14. I assumed the JK was for Just Kidding. I forgot to mention that if it comes up 7 then the interpretation should be that person is townie.
  15. 1 Aquinas 2 Calderone 3 Electric Mango 4 Falzis 5 junkahoolik 6 Kaziocore 7 KevinH 8 Martino 9 Narsis 10 Nerau 11 Sir Jesus 12 sojourner 13 Theophilos I think the scummiest is this person.
  16. I think the implication was that since CanucksDynasty attempted to give a bribe, the vote went against him. I'd like to think that I just had the better haiku.
  17. I always act in the town's best interest -- even if the rest of the townies don't see it that way I don't vote for no-lynch out of principle. I vote for no-lynch because I believe that the "scumtells" that some people claim are not reliable at all. It's about a 75% chance of killing a townie that we will need later and I don't like those odds. On the other hand, if I am about to be lynched, that's a 100% chance of lynching a townie and I will do what I can to avoid that. Forcing me to put a vote on the second-place candidate is not gathering any additional information; the vote for me might as well go on the second-place candidate straight off because it's the same effect. I will also vote on day 1 if I know there's not a cop or pro-town power role (or that the chances are small that they exist). I might even vote on day 1 if someone convinces me they already know something. Nobody has convinced me yet here. The no-lynch vote stands.
  18. Sort of. It's a good scum strategy to lay low and avoid controversy. It's also a bit of a prod to get some players a bit more active. I will agree with Martino that his posts had alot of content and it's not fair to compare it to all the spam. On the other hand, I'd rather see spam than nothing (especially if it's entertaining spam -- poetry gets bonus points).
  19. Post count so far in this thread: junkahoolik 26Falzis 25Narsis 19KevinH 18Theophilos 14Calderone 9Electric Mango 9sojourner 7Sir Jesus 7Aquinas 7Nerau 5Martino 4Kaziocore 4 I make no comment regarding the quality of the posts (a "hmmm" counts the same as EM's multi-paragraph summary). However, in the end-game I would rather be playing with more active players than less.
  20. Just to clarify, I only advocate a no-lynch on day 1. If there are 7 people that want to lynch on day 1, lynching me will not improve your lynch power on day 2. So lynching me helps the town how?
  21. I don't know that there is a cop. More than likely there is a pro-town power role. We don't want to kill them. Even if there's not a cop, I will play like there is one. I'm assuming the cop knows one innocent person and will guide us away from that lynch. That reduces our chances of lynching a townie. The cop can drop a hint about who he investigated in case we lynch him or he gets night-killed. It is in the scums best interest to lynch someone. A FoS on all that are pushing hard for that!
  22. Hey CD, 5 of 8 is still pretty impressive. Good job!
  23. All praise Curufinwe the wise Who listened to the druggies cries As kingmaker he got to choose who would win and who would lose Now that the game has ended He is to me befriended! Good game to all!
  24. On the second day, we know that the cop knows either the guilt or innocence of one of us. If we start to lynch a known innocent, the cop can sway us away. If the cop knows somebody is guilty, he can sway us in the direction of that lynch. That's the beauty of this game -- seeing subtle things in people's posts. At this point, no scum is going to give themselves away and no townie knows anything that will lead to anything much more than a random lynch. A lynch is not in the town's best interest at this point. I've made my case and will let the discussion continue. I will be the "loyal opposition" and when a townie gets lynched feel vindicated.
  25. I am not the cop. Everybody will role claim at this point that they are a townie so that doesn't even need to be said. The point I was trying to make is that by picking someone to lynch with no information, the town is taking a chance on lynching the cop. Since I am not the cop, that is a "plus". Don't read too much into it. Do I want to be lynched? No. That is a 100% chance that the town will lose a townie. Lynch somebody else and you will have a 75% chance that the town will lose a townie and an 8% chance of losing the cop. Do you feel lucky? ...
