[TW-13] Avengers: Infinity War Mafia - Mafia Wins
Not voting at all is legit the worst because it makes it impossible to analyze people later on. Also if I'm the only sane player in this game then you're all in serious trouble lol. Who would do that to poor SM? Actually isn’t she like, a nudist or something? Anyways, I do think in this scenario a Lynch is our best bet (you can tell in this completely new never seen before mafia forum that I AM A MAN WHO LYNCHES PEOPLE) You know what, this new Velocity has sold me for now. Unvote I'll vote for whoever is most inactive (especially if they posted early and ghosted since like Zacch pointed out) once I get to a computer and can check post counts.

This is very fair on both sides, and why I am more open to no lynching when the setup is known and it makes sense. It can't be completely random because the mafia know who is mafia and who isn't, so despite their best efforts to mask it, they have to have some reason for being willing to lynch someone, especially if they're townie. Everyone else ideally has some sort of reason that you can push them on, even if it's something dumb like being completely random. Inactive people completely kill games at the end because town can't risk lynching someone just because they're inactive anymore, but they also obviously aren't contributing to finding scum. Once it gets far enough it's basically a guaranteed scum win because there will be more active mafia than there are active townies, so they can just pick apart one active player and there's basically nothing town can do about it. Since you asked ... Rule of thumb is that 1/4 of players are scum. So that's 3 or 4 scum in this game, meaning 10 or 11 townies. Even at deadline it would take 4 townies to lynch a scum and resist influence from the scum to lynch somebody else. A day 1 lynch almost always takes out a townie. I think "almost always" is probably not accurate, especially in role madness games where mafia is not the only scum faction like this one could be. I can think of at least a few games since I've been here that some scum player has been lynched on day one. It's obviously mostly luck but it can happen.

Also, my early read is that brewers is probably not mafia (he might be 3rd party scum, those are always hard to read because they usually play like town during the day). IIRC his early game scum strategy is generally to either spam and not actively scum hunt so he can decide who to frame later in the game, or to bus his partner super early and earn townie points. He basically never makes early game reads and pushes for a lynch off of it like this though, and since I am definitely not scum at all, my gut says that he's either town or third party.

Haha actually that's very fair. In this case I am town and was just hoping that TW would be nice and throw us a bone since we have no idea about much of anything to do with the setup, and I wasn't sure if he would provide details if asked, but you're right that asking questions that town wouldn't know but scum would is something that people do to look town sometimes.

Generally inactives are good, safe candidates since we can't expect them to do a whole lot to help us in the late game anyway. I also think that there's something to be said for going off of a gut read of people, even this early, since it sometimes works, and even when it doesn't, it's interesting to see who bought in to help get an innocent lynched and who stayed out.

Agreed. Also, this community is way too reliant on PRs. Any time we've had games that aren't role madness setups, especially if they don't know that it's more mountainous, the town usually gets wiped out because they do what we're doing now: sit and wait for PRs to do something and then have no idea what to do or who to lynch towards the end game when they don't have much to go on, and usually end up just getting run by the scum team who can coordinate at least at night, if not throughout the day too. Maybe we'll get lucky and this will be a role madness game where town roles have good games, but I think it's not smart to bank on that happening. Also, on that note. @TW: can you confirm if mafia has day talk or not?

Can we please not no lynch today? We have no idea what the setup is, so there's no way to know if a free night is remotely advantageous for us. Especially with the risk of this game getting inactive towards the end, we can't afford to waste days where mafia can simply do nothing and get free night actions.

It's day one. Everyone's suspicion is mostly artificial because we literally know nothing, as Kevin always says. On the other hand, trying to bait a reaction by giving intentionally confusing voting patterns feels like a tell. FoS: Zacch

Kind of, yeah. The OP says that each game day is 7 real-life calendar days, until we get down to fewer than 7 players, in which case each game day is as many real-life days as their are players remaining (e.g. 4 players = 4 real-life days to complete one game day).

Anyone who votes no lynch is definitely sus to me. And that includes Kevin since we're not taking past games into account. Don't do it, Kevin! Day one and the new guy is already game breaking. SMH!

[KH-23] 2x5 Mafia - MAFIA wins
Lol in hindsight it was even more scummy than people made it out to be, because he literally saved his partner at the end of the day AND got a no lynch. The only reason it worked out at all for town is because brewers didn't kill anyone on N2 which gave us back the day we lost, otherwise we would've never even made it to D5 since there would've only been 4 people alive that day. Also we got lucky with Imran being blocked and then lynched, otherwise he would've had a lot better chance at finding the doctor or MD with his role cop ability. The no kill was objectively the best play of the whole game, especially since I protected him. D3 is when I would've been more suspicious of brewers 2.0 if there had been a kill that night, and D4 after Lyner flipped town, brewers would've absolutely been first in line to be lynched. The no kill completely threw me off though, and it didn't click what happened until the end of the game after MK's claim, which was too late. Realistically, town was always at a disadvantage because of the inactives, especially when Velocity was replaced by brewers of all people. We had a chance with getting Imran so early, but as soon as Lyner flipped VT I knew we were probably going to lose. Capping it off with Rafay being Rafay and iSoc not paying attention, and this is about what town deserved. Good game though, was fun.

Dang that's kind of tempting though Yeah that's actually a good point. He also claimed to visit the person who was killed, which isn't necessarily damning in this instance, but generally is a thing you see in scum RCS. Also @brewers, why would you suggest on D3 that the motion detector should maybe claim if you were the motion detector? I mean I guess you can say that you were trying to throw mafia off, but it seems weird to think up an elaborate strategy for someone else to consider acting on if you knew that you were the only person who could consider it. MK already has two votes thanks to Rafay doing what Rafay does best and quick voting at the start of a LYLO day lol, and I'm leaning towards brewers anyway, so I'll even the votes for now. Vote: brewers

[KH-23] 2x5 Mafia - MAFIA wins
Well that's certainly interesting. Honestly, I expected you to claim Motion Detector after iSoc 1.0 voted for you at the end of the last day, and whoever the scum is is almost definitely going to try to fake claim in an attempt to confuse town into mislynching. That's a pretty good claim though, and I wasn't expecting that. I'll go ahead and claim now. I thought about half-claiming or withholding information to avoid making any other possible fake claims easier, but I don't think it helps anymore, especially if MK's claim was the fake. We're better off to put everything on the table and see how it plays out. I'm the town doctor. N1, I protected iSoc 1.0. In hindsight it was a really stupid protection, but at the time I was trying to guess who Imran might try to kill since I was fairly convinced he was going to flip scum, and thought that maybe he'd kill one of the inactives who he'd voted for as a way to argue someone might have been framing him. N2 - the night that no kill happened - I protected brewers. I figured it was unlikely that scum would actually target him again, but with Imran gone and brewers saying on D2 that it was probably Imran's partner who suggested killing him, I gave it a shot without any better ideas. I actually have some small amount of proof that this was the action I took too. On D3, I was a bit paranoid that I'd get NKed before claiming that I'd protected brewers, so I left breadcrumbs in this post that the doctor (me) had successfully protected brewers on N2. The first letter of each sentence in the second paragraph spells out BREW, which is also intentionally a paragraph explaining why the doctor (me) should hint at who they protected N2 in case they were killed later. N3, I protected brewers again. Honestly I knew going into it that scum surely wouldn't be stupid enough to shoot him again, but I figured it would at lest stop another kill if they were that stupid. They obviously weren't. N4, I protected Rafay. He's seemed the most townie to me all game and I thought mafia was probably going to take out another active player. ... Obviously, my claim and MK's claim seem to be at odds, since if I stopped a kill on brewers on N2, then he obviously can't be mafia. That being said, it's not impossible that brewers would have chosen not to kill - I asked Kevin someone vaguely if the mafia could complete a night without killing anyone, and he specifically confirmed that the mafia could choose not to kill, which was kind of interesting to me. Everything else about MK's claim matches up too: I didn't protect Lyner N2, I did protect someone on N3, and I didn't protect brewers on N4 - all of which would be difficult (but not impossible) to correctly fake claim. I'm honestly kind of split here, but I think it's fairly likely that MK or brewers is the last remaining mafia.
