We will always risk losing a power role. I'm pretty sure there won't be any VTs in this game. It wouldn't surprise me if this were true. However for at least the first day it makes sense because power roles know absolutely nothing. At least after the first night people will start learning things and we can improve our odds of a more successful lynch. If anyone has anything resembling a decent lead on who scum is then I'm open to reconsidering, but that'll never happen on day one and there's too much to lose to roll the dice imho.

Serious post: is no lynching a good idea? It seems likely that there are a high number of non vanilla roles since this is, you know, a super hero theme so it might be useful to give as many power roles as possible a chance to figure something useful out.

Honestly I got a lotta problems with what just happened lol. Tony why did you turn on STP? STP why did you vote knowing the mafia had two guaranteed votes to end it?? Me, why didn't you listen to Kevin??? Kevin, why did you Ghoul the bodyguard??!?! I just... Lol I feel like mafia should not have won this game but I don't understand how it went so wrong. Also roles?

I guess it's possible, I mean "normal" games don't have deflectors which is basically the only way Kevin could've come back as a role cop. The fact that he sort of backed off Tony doesn't really make sense though because he shouldn't be told who the mafia is halfway through and they can't talk or anything, right? Tony has been weird but at least pretty consistently weird lol. Idk what would've tipped MK off. This doesn't make any sense to me. The only constant in the traitor role according to mafiascum is that it is mafia aligned and wins if they do. Also his name is bolded in red in the OP indicating that he's scum.

Reading back through the thread to try to get any idea of who might be mafia since nothing from recently feels very helpful, and this exchange from the 2nd day seems potentially interesting. Remember, at this time MK was a traitor and should have known who were the mafia, while the mafia should have known that a traitor existed but not known who the traitor was. In this context, the above exchange should mean one of two things: MK wanted to throw people off the trail of the real mafia by chasing down three randos that definitely weren't scum. Torres obviously ended up not being scum, lending credibility to this option. Two people not on this list who are still left (other than me): The Warrior and Jazzy/Nadarr 2.0. MK figured it would be a good idea to explicitly call out people who he knew were mafia, and/or he actually didn't know who the mafia were (would be an irregular rule). This obviously doesn't seem likely, except for two curious points of interest: a) two of the people he called out, STP and Tony, are still left, and both of them got very defensive and have used this exchange as really their only reason why they spent a significant portion of the game trying to get MK lynched during the day.I still don't really know what to make of this, but it seems like it could be a useful lead.

I am insanely confused. There are almost definitely two mafia and three townies left, so this is basically the game. Kevin was convinced that TW was scum and I was way off about him, but I still don't agree with his reasoning and have no reason to suspect TW of being mafia other than that Kevin did. There has to be at least one other townie among TM, STP and Nadarr, but I literally have no clue how to tell any of them apart. Also I'm gonna take my FOS away for now. I don't understand how John Reinke could be a role cop but Joe Exotic be a VT, but who knows at this point with this random game lol.

See, this is why I want people to name-drop their characters. Eric Cowie may have been a good guy who just loved the animals (not scum), but *SPOILER* he ended up testifying against Joe Exotic and clearly hated the dude's guts, so in the eyes of Joe Exotic he might be a bad guy (scum). Either way, it'll be interesting to see how brewers set up the roles. Anyway my PMs are blowing up right now so I'm just going to go ahead and... I feel like we've been over this but he was Jeff Lowe, owner of and traitor to GW Zoo. Mafiascum says that a traitor is a normal role if it is mafia aligned, knows who the mafia are, and whose identity is not known by the mafia, although they know one exists. The point is that any mafia should've known a traitor existed, realized that MK was acting scummy and guessed he was the traitor (if they have a scum role cop then even better), and avoided targeting him, especially if a self proclaimed townie was just as close to being lynched as the traitor. It makes a lot more sense IMO for TW to be just another townie who felt like MK was scummy like the rest of you and voted for him just like the rest of you.

I (CM) am 100% not scum, although I even said I thought CM seemed scummy before I absorbed his role lol, so I understand why TW was torn. If TW was scum, and he had a choice between someone who role claimed fairly early as VT, or someone who, IMO, acted super obviously scummy and should've fairly clearly been Traitor to mafia (hence why you all voted for him thinking he was mafia), why in the world wouldn't he pick the confirmed VT? It doesn't make any sense and feels like you're grasping at straws. Also I FOS'ed you because you voted for TW without much of any interrogation and put him squarely in line to be lynched. I don't agree with your reasoning but at least you laid it out, so I'll point my finger away from you for now.

Agreed, and I think options #1 and #2 are essentially the only plausible ones. I can see how everything lines up for #1 to be the most plausible, but there's one small thing that I'm stuck on: why did Kevin role-claim a very specific role without stating which character he was? Everyone else named their character which so far has thematically lined up with their role pretty well, except for maybe Joe Reineke John Reinke who was just a general manager with no legs lol. Also, at this point the only person I'm not really suspicious of at all is The Warrior. As I said, the vote for MK made complete sense from my perspective watching the game unfold, and it doesn't make sense for mafia to kill off the traitor anyway since they're a useful decoy. Hence at this point, the people I'm most suspicious of are the ones who have voted for him, although I'm still withholding my vote until closer to deadline since I'm not convinced they're the only suspicious people, or who the safest vote would be. I got a bodyguard result on Canik, and he ended up being a bodyguard when he died, and confirmed he was when I mentioned him in my RC. So I don’t believe that I am insane. I think that there’s just a redirector role, as the suggested setup has.That's fair, and does make sense too. I'm still fairly new on the nuanced roles but it sounds like a ghoul redirects kills only, which also lines up with Kevin's explanation. However if this is the case, how did you get role cop for him? Even in Kevin's setup the ghoul is distinct from the two role cops. The only way you could get role cop are if he's a reflector or actually a role cop, and if you're also a role cop then one of you surely has to be scum. Right?

I've been following this for a while and honestly was pretty convinced that CM was scum, but I really am Bruce David, a VT. I'm also not sold on TW being scum. Following the thread, I felt like MK was also being scummy, and him being outed as a traitor made that make sense to me. I would be more suspicious of those who didn't vote for him tbh, since I would think scum would want to keep a seemingly obvious traitor (to them) around as long as possible. Also the business about Kevin being a ghoul doesn't make sense to me. Didn't brewers say that sanity was in play? Wouldn't it make more sense for Velocity to just be an insane role cop? I need to ponder a bit more before making a final vote, but I will vote before deadline. Also I get that generally role claiming like that isn't great but it's close to the endgame and I doubted my own role lol, and I still have one vote and would like to not be lynched please. I did not mean to edit and don't know why it did that. Please don't mod kill me.
