Somewhat Classic Mafia(Game thread)

The town of NotQuiteClassicville was a bit out of the ordinary...well to those that didn't live there. People slept during the day rather then the night, walked backwards(although some walked backwards backwards), and had developed a strange language that even they couldn't understand(and thus never used). Most people attributed these strange behaviors to how the town was founded. It was once the location of a "cracker jack box". Apparently a bunch of the "cracker jacks" escaped into the nearby forest and in their not insanity founded the odd town. Hundreds of years later they lived alone and peacefully...or rather their descendents do.

Although the town was so odd, it was very nice. Crime was next to nothing, and the only recorded violent crime was an assault and battery charge against a visitor in the town. And that was 10 years ago. They lived moderately prosperous lives(although me and you would consider them dirt poor) and tended to shun new things(hence why gas lamps were common rather then electricity).

But this was all about to change. Something truly dreadful was about to happen. Someone somewhere was going to snap...and when they do who knows what's to become of the place?

And that something...happens tonight...well today.

As the sun dawned over the edge of horizon, the citizens of NotQuiteClassicville prepared for bed. Children read their parents stories and kissed them good night. The workaholics packed up whatever it was they were working on and walked backwards home through the emptying roads. A few people, brave or crazy(would being a crazy crazy make you more insane or less?), stayed up well past dawn, working or just playing around.

One such person staying up late finally got tired of sorting through her flowers(she owned a booming flower shop) and the bills(which really were random pieces of paper with no meaning but for some reason the townsfolk remembered something about bills so they pretended those papers were bills but had no idea what to do with them...but I digress) was headed home minding her own business when she felt some serious pain and all went black.

As the sun went down that evening and the citizens awoke, they found a gruesome seen. The flower lady had been murdered! Wait what was murder again? It had something to do with her and blood...oh right death! Oh wait she's dead!!!!!

The Flower Lady, an innocent, yet insane, businesswoman was beaten to death

Rules and roles will be coming shortly...need to make sure they're all written up right first!

Also as a reminder: no talking until Night 1 begins!

PS: if you are confused about the Day and Night thing...Day is Night and Night is Day.

1. CanucksDynasty, the Master, and a simple townie, murdered execution style Day 1.

2. Bastille Hades, the Unorthodox and Strange, and the town's resident Doctor, was hung up to die Night 3.

3. KevinH, the Peaceful Killer

4. Falzis, the Apprentice, and a simple townie, hung Night 1

5. junkahoolik, the Silent Investigator

6. Kaziocore, the Little Japanese Girl

7. AKCPluto, the Punny Guy

8. Theophilos, the Greek Hero

9. Windblade, the Newbie Ninja, and a simple townie, hung Night 2

10. Nerau, the Guy Without a Cool Title

11. Aquinas, the Saviour, and a skilled Tracker, shot then beaten Day 2

12. The Unknown ScoutX

I'm pretty active on the forums, which means it's quite probable that I post in this thread fast.

I will never make accusations regarding scumness based on prompt posting. In fact, I would prefer that we have more active players so I will be inclined to vote to lynch players that don't post.

It's very easy for scum to hide behind inactivity. I understand that there's a war and all but it doesn't take much effort to make an occasional post in the mafia thread.

If I keep on bandwagoning and stumbling around, will you guys kick me out of all future games? Or will it make me a popular lynch target?

Certainly only the later.

PS: i'm still looking for a replacement for the Unknown. if you know anyone give me a call.

EM, we miss you!

I don't see how ACKPluto is guilty of bandwagoning here however, he is the only one voting or did I gloss over someone?

I'm most suspicious of Theophilos at the moment. He has barely contributed beyond his vote for Falzis where his reasoning did not develop at all beyond what had already been stated. I'm more concerned about this bandwagon vote than the others for the time being.

Well, I've bandwagoned previously....well, thank you guys for relieving me. I thought my privilege to play was on the line.

So, I've a lot to lose by bandwagoning - got it!

Don't be too hard on yourself.

If we are ever get a lynch, there has to be a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, ... vote. If you make one of those votes, somebody will accuse you of bandwaggoning.

Me too. I'm a bit suspicious of Theo.

So to prevent people to accuse you of bandwagoning, give a good reason.

...even if the reason is the same as that previously given.

For instance, Windblade has given us some good reasons to suspect him. He voted to lynch atownie and the townie that was voting for him got killed. A vote on him would easily be defended as not bandwaggoning.

Alright, thank you for the helps, guys. I, for one, don't think that junk is bandwagoning at this point. Hehe.
Night 2 begins. Majority is 5; Half-majority is 3. Deadline is March 13th.

eh... this is going nowhere fast.

I would prefer more activity prior to the deadline on March 13.

My vote will go onto Windblade because I believe he is the most suspicious but I would rather not see a quick lynch with 5 votes going his way without any other discussion.

Alright, where can I sign up to be a scum?

Why would I convince my scum fellows to vote on CD when I've made it so clear I suspected him. It is clear that I would be an immediate suspect because of what I said.

And for why I thought CD was scum, his post.

Vote: Windblade

At this point we really don't know who is who.

Falzis seems like a good choice...however...if he is townie, then one of the four that voted for him is scum.

My gut is going to Windblade...so that's where my vote will go.

I don't like gut, come with suspicions and facts.

Here some facts.

After Aquinas voted CD.

CD's post:

I find it interesting that you are homing in on me for my vote and not anyone else for their vote.

I'm thinking BH is correct in assuming you are mafia.

The only reason I think voted for me is cuz of my veteran experience...and it would best served for you to eliminate me as early as possible.

It seems you are trying to sway the focus off of Windblade onto others such as myself.

FOS: Aquinas

So, why is everyone focusing on me and forget about that in fact he voted on CD. He is now dead. Of course, this could also scum trying to get an another townie.

I FoS: Theopholis.

Reason is that he hasn't posted yet and is active on the forums otherwise. He's keeping a low profile, so for what reason?

Also Modquestion: Must all scum people vote before the target gets killed?

So, why is everyone focusing on me and forget about that in fact he voted on CD. He is now dead. Of course, this could also scum trying to get an another townie.

Are you inditing me of something here? What are you trying to say? Are you just trying to get suspicion off relative to my actions?

I say that we respect the dead and at least consider their options. CD FoS you, but I only see that KevinH mentioned that, and you haven't responded to that. So I'm bringing it up again to let it know, you have to say that it is a bit suspicious.

Further I currently hold no other suspicions against you, that's why I don't FoS you.

@Aquinas - You voted for CanucksDyanasty and then he was night-killed. Were you responsible? (Just kidding on that one.)

I believe this is what you are referring to. I considered not responding to it because it seemed to me it was not a serious accusation because of that last parenthetical aside.

Can I clear my name here? Should I have to? Well, you suggested that we respect the dead and as such I will try not to speculate to much on what CanucksDynasty's thoughts were on the matter. However, it seems to me that his FOS was based on the fact that he, unlike me, knew himself to be town allied. After my vote he FOSd me because he believed that I accused him out of malice. I accused him because I believed his accusation of Windblade to be baseless. I did not believe that Falzis was scum nor did I believe at the time that you were scum. I voted for CD to spread out the vote and not condemn either of two players who I considered to be townies. Especially when doing so meant that by hammering either of you two I would end up lynched next (most likely) and then the town would be down two members. I believe Falzis and Windblade were tied at that end of the day, although I may have that wrong the sentiment remains the same. I voted for CanucksDynsaty because I did not like his reasoning and his "gut feeling" vote to be not in keeping with his general meticulous play style.

LOL @ Kevin.

I personally don't suspect Aquinas...that is a satisfactory defense.

Seriously, let's take out Wind and see what happens. What do we have to lose?

Another townie player.

it seemed to me it was not a serious accusation because of that last parenthetical aside.

Indeed, I did not expect a response. If you were scum, you certainly wouldn't say, "you're right -- I wanted him dead and since I didn't get the lynch, I night-killed him" :)

I voted for CD to spread out the vote

That's something I would do. Voting no-lynch gets people angry but voting for someone that isn't going to be lynched seems ok.

With all do respect to your no-lynch strategies, I don't think it is something you would do, at least no in spirit. I voted for CanucksDynasty because I thought he was a better lynch candidate than either Falzis or Windblade at that time. I wanted to lynch someone, I believe the town is better off today because Falzis died than we would have been if we had only lost CanucksDynasty. Obviously, not as well off if Falzis had been scum. I did not vote for CanucksDynasty so that we would not lynch a someone in fact, I may have made a different decision if the half majority had not been reached. I voted for him because I believed he was more likely scum than either Falzis or Windblade, obviously I was wrong.

LOL @ Kevin.

You would take out another townie player. And thanks for your explanation Aquinas.

With all do respect to your no-lynch strategies, I don't think it is something you would do, at least no in spirit.

But that's exactly what I did do when I voted for mole. Remember this?

A great way to do the no-lynch vote, without doing it. I commend you, sir.

Or this?

If I didn't vote for mole, I would vote for BastilleHades, Theophilos, or Nerau, giving one of them their first vote. Would that be better?

And I almost fogot ...

Falzis, the Apprentice, an Insane Guy, and a simple townie, was hung Night 1.

"I told you so"

LOL @ Kevin.

I personally don't suspect Aquinas...that is a satisfactory defense.

why is the fact that you don't suspect Aquinas satisfactory defense??
