The game of persuasion, logic, and good old fashioned murder mystery. Well whether you have or haven't now is your chance to watch these 5 players duke it out in a twisted combination of the two! The Rules

 

1. Days will last a week; nights will last 48 hours.

 

2. At deadline the player with the most votes dies. If there is a tie the first player to get to that number of votes is lynched. Should no one have been voted, a player will be lynched at random.

 

3. During the day the town(as a whole) may also ask the mod a single yes/no question about the mafia. This question must be related to the revealed information section. (Examples: Is the mafia's hair brown? Is the mafia a guy? etc. Examples of what not to ask: Is CD the mafia? Is KevinH not the mafia?) It must be asked in bold.

 

4. There are only two options for each category(hair: brown/black, eyes: brown/green, sex: guy/girl, skin: dark/light, accessories: glasses/necklace).

 

6. Upon death a persons info will be fully revealed. Additionally, one of the living players at the start of each day will be revealed in full.

 

5. Everything else should already be known to you guys since you've all played mafia before and I'm not about to throw out any major surprises. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I'm pondering the Yes/No question. I think if we include 2 characteristics, it might be more beneficial.

For instance, if we know that the mafia has brown hair, then that puts suspicion on CD but it's really only a 50% chance that he'd be scum.

 

On the other hand, if we ask and are told that the mafia has brown hair and brown eyes, then there's a whole lot more suspicion on CD. The downside to this approach is that we are more likely to get a "no" answer and we'd be faced with a blind guess the second day, too.

I like this set-up. It's a good thinking game.

 

I think it is in the town's best interest to gather as much inform as possible and then make the best lynch possible.

 

We only have 2 mis-lynches to give.

Day 1: Mis-lynch townie

Night 1: Townie night-killed

Day 2: Mis-lynch townie

Night 2: Townie night-killed and game over.

 

However, if we no-lynch on only one of the first 2 days, the scum will win because there would be only 2 players remaining on day 3.

 

If we no-lynch for 2 days, we would have 3 players going into day 3 which could force the lynch of the scum. (And there would be an extra question answered)

If CD is townie, the scum will kill him.

It's not because he's a pro, but because his information has been revealed.

The combination of all 3 questions could totally clear some players with their information revealed.

 

@MOD: Can we self-reveal our characteristics?

 

If we are allowed, I propose that we reveal our own characteristics now. That will help us in 2 ways. 1) If the true reveal shows that somebody lied about their characteristics, that would be a good indication that they are scum. 2) The questions we ask can be applied against all players, not just the remaining one revealed because the scum will kill off the others that were revealed earlier.

 

Interesting question to the mod about self-revealing...this comes across as a very townie move.

Unless he already talked to the mod about this and knew the answer and did just that to get townie points.

Good point. There's no real advantage to the town in lynching the scum the second day rather than the first.

That doesn't make sense at all. I have no preference regarding the characteristics chosen. If you are not scum in either scenario, then the rest of us have equal chances to be scum.

 

I just want whichever 2 are chosen to have a match with the known characterisitics so that a 2 for 2 match gives a fairly high probability.

 

Now that I think about it, the best way will be for CD to randomly choose the 2 characteristics himself. Any other player that was mafia would want to influence the question so that neither of proposed setups would match the mafia player; so if the mafia player has his characteristics revealed at the beginning of the day tomorrow, they won't match.

 

I put my vote on the question totally behind CD. If he's scum, he can't phrase the question to avoid the lynch. If he's not scum, then there won't be any influence from the real scum.

Best play by mafia would be to lay low and not appear scummy.

 

They should hope that the question does not match their characteristics so that they are on equal footing with the rest of the players at the beginning of the day.

If they do match and we wrongly lynch CD, then if they are revealed we will have suspicion on them before we even ask the next question.

I think those assumptions are a really big stretch.

 

First, you are assuming that the mafia desires to share the same characteristics as you so that you will be lynched. As previously posted, I think they would prefer to have you cleared and then night-kill you.

 

Second, you are making a leap from two suggestions that the mafia has those characteristics. Consider that I'm a townie and chose 2 characteristics: hair and assessory. One part of my suggestion was framed to match you (brown hair and necklace) and the other was chose as the opposite (black hair and glasses). I don't know anything about the mafia but you are using my suggestion as data to reduce the potential characteristics of the mafia.

 

Even if you are correct that the mafia has brown hair, why not have

I'm not really convinced about the scumminess of anyone, but I think the game will play out and we stand a good chance to win.

 

I know CD is a townie and I know I am a townie. That means I have a 1/3 chance of picking the right person to lynch.

 

If we mislynch, then there will only be 3 players left after a night kill. Even if there wasn't a question, I would have a 50% chance of guessing scum.

But there is a question and I will be able to deduce whether a different revealed player is scum or not; if that happens, I will definitely be able to place my vote on the scum tomorrow. Will the other townie follow my vote?

 

However, if I am revealed and shown to be townie with the question, I won't know about the remaining 2 players. It will be a 50% guess for the win. I feel lucky.
