Simply because he has a differing view of how to play the game (no matter how illogical it may seem to you) doesn't mean he's a scum. Most mafia players typically dislike no-lynching and killing the instigator of the no lynch doesn't seem unusual to me. We discussed about lynching KevinH for that last game after all. Nerau I did not understand what you just said. It sounded like you tried to copy KevinH's post but mix your thoughts into it.

It seems to me that any suspicions can carry over into Day 2, so a lynch on Day 1 is simply a wish to get lucky early. It could happen but we could also get lucky on Day 3 if we give it a chance.

I'll be honest, I'm not really so much of the analytical type-- last time I played Mafia it was with a... more situationally creative group, I'll just say. My opinion on the scumstrategy may be a bit simple compared to all of yours, but I would honestly just let any other scum take care of themselves and try to gain more playing field. I mean... I am trying to get more posts, but since I'm not so analytical and I tend to come to this thread when I'm tired, I never have anything really observant to say. At this current point, I'm kind of more watching the game play out than really participating.. This type of Mafia is very strange to me, lol.

Since I'm pretty sure that both KevinH and CD are town, I'm pretty certain that the battlefield will still be in our favor even if we lynch mole and he turns out to be town. Anyway, unless the scum's win condition is far easier than ours, I doubt we'll have to worry about losing the game because they beat us on the battlefield. By the time that happens, they more than likely outnumber us anyway.

This. Someone spotting a hint doesn't confirm their alignment, why on earth would you think it does?

If anything, bringing the hint to everyone's attention by these repeated games of "What-page-is-it-on" means the scum are much more likely to look and find it. Which sort of defeats the point of a breadcrumb and gives them much more information - and then by knowing where it is they can get themselves confirmed as town by you to boot. :facepalm:

There's always the possibility of that but that's assuming that the mafia would guess right without having townie knowledge.

Martino suggested that the top 3 posters keep posting alot to further distance themselves from the pack in a 2 day span.

And then request the mid-day update.

 

Let's say CD (me), KevinH, and mole each had 30 posts.

(Don't say it's subjective cuz I believe that if it discusses the game...it's valid and not fluff).

And the rest had only 5 posts (hardly enough posts to affect the battlefield for the top 3 posters).

 

With the mid-day update we could have known 3 things.

If the battlefield swings heavily in townie favour = all 3 are townies.

If the battlefield is even = one of the top 3 poster is townie.

If the battlefied swings heavily in mafia favour = at least 2 are mafia.

 

That is some useful information if everyone played along but alas...the mid-day update was scuttled.

It is to show why I believe Martino is townie.

It was a strategy that would have worked in favour for the town.

People who ignored a winning strategy usually ends up on my suspect list.
