Answered, because I could.

Smoked and/or chewed for about 10 years.

Quit chewing because my wife (then girlfriend) thought it was disgusting, and wouldn't kiss me until I brushed my teeth after chewing.

Quit smoking when my wife got pregnant with our first kid (same time she quit smoking).

Been smoke free for roughly 4.5 years now (still have the occasional cigarette when I get stressed, and will occasionally smoke a good cigar, just because)

health? My grandfather is older than dirt and smokes two packs of Camel nonfilters a day and could whup your ass.

Yes I smoke, and I'm perfectly healthy, thank you.

I used to smoke cigars and cigarettes too, but I totally quit with the cigarettes 5 years ago. I still smoke a good cigar on special occasions.

I must say that I feel much healthier since I quit :P

I don't smoke anything with tobacco, have tried it, didn't see the point so never did again, I do smoke marijuana on occasion though.

Also you can smoke and be healthy, granted if you didn't you would probably be healthier.

you know this brings up an odd but very interesting point. first off tobacco isn't what kills ppl that smoke it's all the chemicals that the companies have added to it now days. second people that smoke pot actually seem to fight off illness better is some cases. There was a farmer with cancer who got medical marijuana and it actually killed the cancer. Smoking isn't bad all the crap they add is.

Anything can kill you.

For reference, nonsmokers breathing the air in California is equivalent to a one/two pack a day habit (depending on where you live).

I saw a study that suggested nonfilters are better for you, pointing to filter fibers found in the lungs of smokers. And most filters are made of Fiberglas, though some are cotton. The body does a good job of cleaning some things out, but Fiberglas is much harder for the body to break down and absorb.

Generally, health is an overall picture of your activities with genetics thrown in for good measure.

Never have, never will. :P

I mean, if that's your thing, go for it. Personally though... I just don't see the attraction, haha.

Yep, and cigarettes are more than $10 a pack here in NY. And in NYC they're even more due to additional taxes. Thanks a lot governor Patterson! I also like cigars on special occasions or just once in a blue moon for the hell of it.

Not really, the smoke itself is bad as well. But the extra crap they add to cigarettes don't help much either.

During my time in med school I had the good fortune to examine several smokers' lungs in the dissection hall. They don't look too good

Yezzir. Marlboros generally, or Parliament Lights. Davidoffs are nice but expensive.

I've quit for several months twice but I end up picking it up again out of choice and because it's something to do when you're smashed and its a stress/boredom reliever of sorts for me.

i smoked the reds, not anymore, well unless i am drinking

Reds used to be my favorite until they gave me a bad bout of bronchitis. Damn cowboy killers, man. Downgraded to Marlboro Lights, 27s and Parly lights after that (and later took Marlboro Lights out of the picture when they changed their blend a couple of years ago cause their new one made me gag)

Drinking always gets me to smoke when I'm trying to quit...

Marlboro Reds in a box for me.

DVD, I read somewhere, the reason you smoke/smoke more when drinking is because alcohol is a depressant, nicotine is an upper, smoking while drinking is kinda your body's way of trying to even itself out. Don't know if that;s true or not tho. I am not a scientist. Don't even play one on t.v.

Smoked cigarettes many years ago. Really liked my cigars. But stopped and no longer smoke anything.
