The Mafia Choose Weird Places to Invade - #1

The IRONTown Baths was quite a popular attraction for families and the rest of the inhabitants of the town to relax in the pool or to get some exercise in. Right now, however, it was fairly quiet. The pool had some die-hard swimmers and stubborn children left in, but there were plenty of staff around too.

That was the time Godfather Tony chose to invade. Shortly after the first shots were fired, sirens went off, and shutters fell, cutting off the pool from the outside world.

Now, the innocent people of IRONTown had to find out who the mafia were, and make sure they didn't live to invade somewhere else slightly strange......

STILL ALIVE: (Italics - Confirmed)

Kaziocore

CanucksDynasty

Preston

Tactical Evil Dan

DROWNED IN THE POOL:

Nerau, Whistle-Blowing Lifeguard (One-Use Roleblocker), killed Night One.

Kasabian, Mafia Goon, lynched Day Two.

Chaoshawk, Pool Cleaner (One-Use Vigilante), Killed Night Two.

Electric Mango, Insomniac, lynched Day Three.

KevinH, Friendly Neighbour, killed Night Three.

AKCPLUTO, One-Use Mafia Janitor, lynched Day Four.

ccabal86, Curious Child, killed Night Four.

The Rules (Stolen from a PCII)

1. This is game. Enjoy yourself. Or else.

2. No editing or deleting posts.

3. No talking to other players outside the game thread unless your Role PM states specifically that you can.

4. No quoting any PMs from me, including Role PMs. Doing so will get you modkilled. Paraphrasing is OK.

5. Vote for a player to be lynched by using the Vote: molestargazer format. You must unvote before voting again.

6. Days will last 2 weeks. Nights will last up to 72 hours, but may be cut short if I get all actions in before then.

6-1. If discussion is lagging, I may impose a shorter deadline at my own discretion. Deadline extensions will happen on request - but will only happen once per day at most, and if I feel there's enough activity to warrant one.

7. A lynch requires a majority (50% rounded down + 1) vote. You can also No Lynch, by using Vote: No Lynch.

7-1. If there is no majority by deadline, only a half-majority is needed. (Majority / 2, rounded up if necessary)

7-2. If there are 2 players with the same amount of at least half-majority votes at deadline, then I will lynch the one who reached that number of votes first.

8. After someone has been lynched, discussion may continue until I get to the thread and close it.

9. Don't use small / invisible font, don't use orange text (That's mine), and don't use any form of clever encryption or code in your messages.

10. Be active, yeah? If you think someone ISN'T being active enough, post in-thread, get my attention, and they'll be prodded.

10-1. If you need to be replaced for whatever reason, please PM me, don't flake.

10-2. If you are V/LA, don't rely on me checking the thread / your signature. Please post in the thread notifying me of your V/LA or PM me about it.

11. Vote counts will be made at the top of a page, edited into a post in orange. They will count up to and including the post it's been edited into.

12. Be nice. Excessive flaming will result in a warning, then a replacement or modkill as I see fit.

13. I hope it isn't necessary, but any modkills will negatively effect the rule-breaker's faction in some way which I see fit. If you are modkilled, you lose, no matter how the game ends.

14. I can change, add, or edit rules as I see fit. I will notify players in-thread if this happens.

15. I am not perfect. I may have got something wrong. I may have missed a rule out. Let me know, ask me questions, but don't abuse my mistakes.

15-1. To get my attention in-thread, use the MOD: <Your message> format.

The flavour of all PMs will be slightly different for each player. This is intended for fun only.

If there are townies in the game, their PM may look something like this.

Was it possible to go ANYWHERE for a relaxing day out without someone coming along and trying to invade? After a harrowing experience in Genericville' date=' you decided to move to IRONTown for a bit of peace and quiet. Fat chance. As you walked into the swimming pool and began to get changed, alarm bells began to rang and there was shouting about the mafia. Right! Time to sort them out!

You are a TOWNIE.

You have no powers other than your wits and your vote during the day.

You win when all of the Mafia Members are dead, and at least one pro-town member survives.

To confirm your role, please reply to this Role PM stating your confirmation and telling me what your favourite colour is.[/quote']

^ Tactical Evil Dan, you too.

If either of your inboxes isn't full, I would suggest contacting a councillor / forum admin and asking them WTF is going on - or just PM me and I'll reply with your PM (thanks Narsis!)

After the chaos of the invasion had died down, the remaining citizens and staff gathered around the edge of the pool and sat there silently for a minute, some dunking their feet into the pool with a relieved sigh. They glanced at each other, and slowly, one by one, they nodded.

It is now DAY ONE.

Deadline is Wednesday 16th February.

Hey all, now who would want to take our fantastic pool?

hmm pool

Cleary it is preston

For your bad spelling and preemptive attack, I find myself saying something I never thought I'd have to say: NO U! :omfgzry3:

Vote: Nerau

On a more serious note - unlike the last game, we're going into day 1 with NO information - not even about what roles EXIST in this game. Since this is only my second-ever game (and the first never really finished), is it normal to not even know what roles there are?

Normal games usually don't tell you what roles are in the game.

Makes it more of a challenge I think.

OMGUS!

It's a normal game. Time to play normally.

Vote: No Lynch

Kinda figured you would would vote no lynch.

:3910290200_9284e0754f_o:

Does that mean you're the weak doctor? :P

I say we give KevinH's no-lynch strategy a try.

Vote:No-lynch

Ha ha...not this time.

Rule #9 says no cryptic messages. :anim_09:

What if it's so cryptic that no one notices?

What if it's so cryptic that no one notices?

Why would anyone want to tempt the MODs wrath?

VOTE COUNT

KevinH (1): CanucksDynasty

CanucksDynasty (1): Electric Mango

Electric Mango (1): Tactical Evil Dan

Preston (1): Nerau

Nerau (1): Preston

No-Lynch (2): KevinH, ccabal86

Not Voting (4): Kaziocore, Kasabian, AKCPLUTO, Chaoshawk

PLEASE NOTE: Re: Rule 9, breadcrumbing to a certain extent is acceptable. Just don't go OTT with it, and no encryption!

Preston is acting innocent and asking logical questions like he did last game when he was scum. I'll be watching sir.

Also I just may vote no lynch just for my friend Kevin. We've played so many games together and he's never had his way yet. I am now ready for all of you to tell me how bad I suck for even bringing this up.

Heh, if I get this reaction then I must've played my hand better than I thought last game...

To refresh me on the concept; how does no-lynch benefit the town? I remember there was a discussion about it in the previous game, but I cant be arsed to go find it. I think it hinged upon whether the town gains information as time goes by from some sort of an investigative role - but we dont know if we HAVE any of those, in which case I'd think we would just be giving the mafia a free nightkill without a corresponding lynch. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

I'd rather get someone to reiterate the ACTUAL theory behind this.

-Preston

The theory is that we're willing to bet that there is a cop.

If we lynch day 1, the odds are that we'll lynch a townie and that hurts.

The town will have more information tomorrow.

Basically this. Of if there's a failed nightkill, we can learn there may be a doc/protector of sorts.
