All right, sorry for the absence, here's what I think:
The night killing was not done by a pro-town player, or if it was, the act was not rational. If I were a vigilante, I'd definitely save up my night kill powers until I've got some idea on who I want to hit. I still think it's a psychopath/serial-killer.
So it seems that most players have genders? What purpose do they serve?

Ya i'm not sure what the genders have anything to do with. maybe there's some special power role out there that can only use their powers on opposite gender players?

I will now tell you something that will blow your mind and shake you to your very foundation. I know I'll never feel the same way again. You see, last night I was probed, and not just once but twice! Imagine the horror and surprise I felt as I woke from my slumber. My character has OCD and is a clean freak. Because of this I am able to tell if I was investigated during the night phase since my character could detect if anything was out of place. Kazio informed me in the morning that I was investigated TWICE.
It's posssible that we have 2 townie cops but I think each faction has their own. Also what's. The deal with gender signifigance? Should we tell each other our sex and see what we can figure out?
When you say you were probed, what does that mean? Does that mean you were investigated, or can it just mean you were visited? Either way, that is very interesting, as it means there are a good number of power roles in the game.
Anyways, it appears that both of the mason roles were knocked out. I doubt that there would be more, but you can never be sure.
Also, I'm not so sure that gender is so important. We may be over-analyzing things again.

I'm Sam. It didn't say exactly that I was a male, but I figured that Sam is used more as a boy's name than a girl's name.
