So dicussion on IRC so far the topics include:

 

Location

-setting up blocks of rooms for IRONers to gather towards, preferably at reduced prices

-area that can support social activity

-potentially 2 tiered event, one part in town, second part camping trip

 

I'd say first thing first is gather up interested people's locations and find a place that doesn't murder the check book. Probably want somewhere local to an IRONer who is able to help organize. etc.

Dude I'll have to go fishing for it. That was like a year and a half ago.

 

CJ outlines a number of things to be considered. I would prefer to hold the event in whatever city the most IRONers could attend and hopefully where someone actually lives so that they can help set the ground work at whatever venue we choose.

This would be fun. I would say come to New England but.... Sandy kind of destroyed our beaches and coastal restaurants.  Still being rebuilt atm

I would love to see this happen sooner rather than later.  Maybe even this summer?  August?

I'd do it this year, but the major reason for waiting is that it may be next to impossible for anyone from Europe to make it if we do it in a few months. At least doing it next year would give people from out of country time to plan.
