Overall, the game played out differently than expected. The town had a lot of investigative roles. I gave the scum both Ninja and Godfather abilities to counteract that but it turns out that those abiliities never came into play. The town had several protective abilities and was only able to prevent one kill, plus a bulletproof was used.

Day 2: Rusken voting for Samus would not be a real scum tell. There was no way that a claimed cop would get lynched and the scum would not try to advocate it.

Fox Fire was revealed as Ascetic Sane Cop. Samus took the role as backup so if the town believed his claim, they should have understood that ascetic means the role can't be protected by the doctor or bodyguard.

Day 4: Mandarijn the flavor cop gets killed in the night and had been after The Warrior all game; I was expecting a lynch within a few hours, but the scum team talked their way out of it.

Day 4: Lyner, Yehom, Ccabal86, and Perez all visited Imran Ehsan the night before (bedroom party) and that might have self-confirmed their roles with some degree of certainty but nobody really mentioned it.

Night 4: The scum somehow thought that Lyner the doctor might be bulletproof so instead targeted iSocialism who had bulletproof. How ironic.

I give the scum a lot of credit for talking their way out of some bad situations. Well-played!

That was a lot of fun guys and it will certainly be a very memorable first game of mafia for me. I'm looking forward to playing in many upcoming games.

Catching on to some aspects of the game early on was difficult since it was my first game, but I give a lot of credit to my teammates (especially Imran) for helping devise a great strategy that we executed pretty flawlessly in my opinion. I will say that for the duration of the game, this thread was my favorite thread and discussion to participate in on the entire forums. Given te current state of foreign affairs in CN though, it's probably a good thing that this game is finally over. We have a little bit of work to do.

IMO the big risk we took was going after Mand, we knew it was a matter of time before he stops buying into Imrans stories and push for tW. We knew the reaction would be tW getting lynched so we played that around as a knee jerk reaction theory.

We also knew Lyner as a confirmed townie could carry.some.townie votes so we played into winning him and amplify his doubts.

Nice summary. To add a few points of my own. I thought Samus missed a trick there revealing his role early without confirming at least one of us as scum. We had EM's strong man ability which cut though all protections that he attracted. He probably saved Lyner from the D2 lynch though but in hindsight that didnt help the town win the game as none of our targets were saved by him.

 

Mand also missed a trick by not revealing why he thought TW was scum. He pretty much confirmed him as scum N1 but still went on to vote others for lynch instead of revealing that he knew by his actions that TW was scum. Also Kevin is right that town really should have picked up that Mand knew TW is scum after Perez revealed that Mand had visited TW on N2 coupled with his role. We really talked out of that by getting Perez lynched instead of letting others believe him.

 

We were really worried that Lyner may be BP so we did not target him on N4 or the game would have been over early,

 

Perez's reveal was really damaging for us. He confirmed ccabal, Lyner and Yehom's role as well as his own which also revealing Mand had visited TW on N2. We started a lot of discussions in different tangents and a lot of fluff to make sure townies dont analyze his results too closely. iSoc did analyze them later but he did not have enough support and couldnt make good arguments to sway the townies to his side as well.

 

Townies were held back by the inactives specially of ccabal and Rafay who did not defend themselves when we pushed for their lynches.

 

The mafia encryptor ability was awesome. Me, TW and Shah strategised a lot during the game and probably posted more in our mafia thread then in this thread to get our strategies right to win the game. By the way we discussed a lot on how to confuse you guys a lot and how to make sure you dont all gang up on us by targetting one or the other as lynch targets while supporting others.

I highly suspected you as scum because of your rookiness in the early day(s), some of your posts just screamed 'NOOB SCUM RIGHT HERE' but you managed to avoid my attention when other townies were behaving more scummier :/.

 

Seems you've learnt alot now, and will be good to see if you still post like a noob or not in the next game

I'll give the honor to Imran because the doc was still protecting him on the last night!

Perez provided opening by I believe to be bit of poor wording, allowing the opening to fill it up with fluff and doubt. 

 

Mand holding on to tWs info imo was a big mistake. I think he got greedy hoping imran will deliver some more scum.

 

What I also found bit shocking was towards the end, Imran pretty much led all the lynch wagons, all went wrong for the town and town still followed through.

I couldn't come forward or I would've been dead the next night as I couldn't be protected... I hoped to discover some more Mafia 1st, but of course I missed the Ascetic part on N2 and on N3 I was already dead. BUT SERIOUSLY TOWN... Didn't I leave enough clues already that TW was scum? DJEEEEEEZZZZZZZ and then you believe a bullshit story from TW (who had a nice post written up already by the time the new day started). That's the real 

 

After I was killed and I saw the discussion going on on D4 I got 3/4 Mafia right, only Imran flew under my radar after that... So Imran is also my MVP.

This pretty much sums up all the big mistakes by the town:

- Samus (and every one else) missing the Ascetic part... Can someone truely say that they noticed it? (As I see Mafia used a Strongman kill as well, so they didn't notice it either)

- Town not lynching TW immediately after I was killed

- Lyner, Yehom, ccabal and Perez could've known/assume that they were all town

- I also think Lyner wasn't active enough and as only confirmed townie he should've taken a leading role, instead Imran did it...

 

Also that Jack-of-all-trades is OP

Do these safe claims always get included? That's stupid.
