May 9, 201610 yr comment_854209 It does seem unbelievable, but then again so does that photo which went with the article you link to. A very bad photo shop job and not nearly enough blood for a real beheading. Who know what's going on anymore? Nothing makes sense. Report
May 9, 201610 yr comment_854224 Poor fools. Each event like this is just one more step towards giving power to the radicals. And when they reach critical mass and gain enough power, we'll see things we've only heard about in our grandparents stories. Poor fools, both glorifiers of political correctness and false tolerance and also typical, non radical Muslims that don't care because they're not targets...yet. When shit will hit the fan, they will be the first ones to pay the price for their ignorance. Report

May 9, 201610 yr comment_854273 I spai a topic title bainting me, I shall bite *looks around* aaaah, him. They got 1 tapped telephone conversation of him stating "we ripped his head off". Apologies we don't do ambiguity verdicts. As for the walking, blame Lejeune and his law. People tend to walk here when they already did 1/3rd of there sentence pre-sentencing and they aren't considered a flight risk during the time any appeal can be levied (they got a month, both the defendent as the public prosecurtor). Extra info, they are more likely to try the beheading seperatly on a later date, this verdict was for other allegations, mainly surrounding membership of a terrorist organisation. Report
May 9, 201610 yr comment_854293 If that were the first time we hear ridiculous things happening in Belgium, but it's not. Also when you're planning to trial someone for beheading you don't let him walk freely. These are a more serious accusations than just stealing a candy bar, so you'd think they'd keep arrested someone they plan on charging for murder. Report
May 9, 201610 yr Author comment_854294 Look, I don't care what you laws are or why are they so messed up. You don't let terrorism suspects walk. Period. If a law is still in effect that allows for that, then why hasn't it been changed? Hell, why was it put into effect in the first place? The fact is, your country is a massive security threat for the rest of Europe, and it's clear that your decision makers have neither the skill or the ambition to change that. Maybe you guys should do something about that? Edited May 9, 201610 yr by ccabal86 Report

The public office is considering it, firstly they are trying to consider believing the phonecall itself firstly. Or should we round up everyone making a punishable claim over the phone? Heck they aren't even accusations, they just got that 1 phonecall where he spouts that line himself, nothing else. Perhaps we should start a Guantanamo, I hear some walloon prisons would love the extra work >_> Look, I don't care what you laws are or why are they so messed up. Maybe you guys should do something about that?He got tried, did time and now he walks as he did a certain part of the time convicted presently. Thats how it works here. That law Lejeune has recently already been strenghtened regarding release in general and also specifically for certain "large" crimes. Let google and wikipedia help you. Sure a big part of the present years attackers came from Belgium, guess the decade before it just side-note? And we got some party trying to "fix it". What they do? Less money for police and justice and more soldiers on the streets, thats gonna stop it all! this verdict was for other allegations, mainly surrounding membership of a terrorist organisation. You can get 15y for membership of a terrorist organisation, this is without any and all other possible terrorist related accusations, as those weren't levied on this trial. He got 5y cause he was linked but not inner-circle. See ^^ for reply. Don't forget the part where the five years were halved, since he promesed to be good from now on See Lejeune ^^. They weren't halfed btw, they get transferred into "suspended sentence", so if they next wish to try him for his Syrian journey, they can attach another 2y without any reservation to the sentence levied during that trial. Way to fuck up, Belgium. Read some of the eye witness accounts of guillotining during the French Revolution. Everyone remarks on the fountains of blood which burst out of the severed neck. Makes sense. The artery to the head is cut suddenly, the heart continues to beat a few times more and all the blood in the body is forced out under pressure.Besides that, the picture looks like a bad photo shop job. May 10, 201610 yr comment_854336 I can't tell if its a shop or not. If the direction of the sun were a little more clear it would be easier to tell. But from the shadow in the blood, I see a turban, but not any facial features. Plus I don't see any weapons around, sure they could've moved them... but why would they?EDIT: Also it looks like the blood is flowing upwards, the left side (The mans left) seems to have more of a downgrade than the right side of the road. I didn't want to say this because I don't want to sound like a twisted person, but..... I've seen beheading videos from cartels, (done in the same fashion, with a knife) and I think you'd be surprised at how little blood there actually is. The faster it's done, the less blood there is. I could probably find the exact videos I'm referring to, but I'd rather not delve into that part of the web again. Being a photoshop artist who has done a lot of work restoring and combining photos, I'm sure this is legit. The reflection in the pool of blood is exact for the angle of the camera. The guys pant legs, the building behind him, etc. But most importantly is why would anyone photoshop this? We know for a fact that ISIS beheads people. We know for a fact they kill people in gruesome ways. So this being real isn't even slightly surprising. We could say that it's an attempt to frame the guy, but even then it makes little sense with no face being shown. Point is, it's real. Report
May 10, 201610 yr Author comment_854399 I remember the first time when ISIS beheaded a guy. Everyone was claining that it was fake, they used a doll, etc. The thing you guys forget is that this isn't some BS Hollywood production, it's the freight train we call reality. The sad truth is that it takes a lot less effort for ISIS to behead someone than to pshotoshop a picture of the act. Also, what FF said. Report
May 10, 201610 yr comment_854433 Wouldn't ISIS want to show their faces though? This is something they would be proud of isn't it? Report
May 10, 201610 yr Author comment_854437 Sometimes they show faces, sometimes they don't. If they don't they may be able to infiltrate with the migrants without authorities noticing. Jihadi John didn't show his face either. Report
May 12, 201610 yr comment_854847 Feels like a race war brewing. it is in certain corners, but this case is really silly on part of Belgian authorities. This guy needs to be put behind the bars ASAP. I'm saying this as a Muslim. What Beglium is trying now, we in Pakistan tried 10 years ago. Benefits of doubts were given, cease fires and promises to be good were given, and they turned around and hit the state, schools, mosques, churches and whatever you can think of. So after 10 years of going through this cycle, it was realised, they understand only one language, the sound of the bullet, going between their ears. I do think at times ccabal tries to generalize things , but in this case he is 101% right. Report
May 12, 201610 yr Author comment_854856 I admit, I am somewhat biased against the Islamic faith as some of its doctrines I find rather harsh compared even to other religions. BUT the real cleavage is not between "Muslims" and the "West" but between modern, 21st century, rational people (including those that identify as Muslim - just look at Majiid Nawaz for a great example) and fundamentalists who want nothing more than to burn the world and cast it back into a stoneage theocracy and their regressive leftist accomplices who are too stupid to realize the looming danger of it all. What we need is a zero tolerance on extremism, especially violent extremism be it religious or otherwise. These people want to use our institutional weaknesses to undermine our modern societies and achievments, the only way to stop them is to crack down without mercy (as they would give us none). If special exceptions need to be included in our legal systems, then so be it. Report

Giving up the things your opponents despises and attacks you for, isn't really a method of gaining a moral victory. Report
