I have been kind of following this, although I have no skin in the game and have no idea how this will affect your lives, I would like to know how my British cousins feel about this issue. It looks to me, according to this piece, that you guys are favoring an exit from the European Union. I myself despise all forms of socialism, and I like to see nations stand on their own and make a difference, so I have been in favor of this move. Please, help me understand your positions.

As for my personal opinion, as much as I'd love to see the UK give a big FU to Brussels, the better option for all of us if they stayed. Better for them economically and better for us little guys as well to keep Germany in check.

I've been watching this with some detached amusement. While I'd like to see Bruxelles be given the high hard one by the UK, I have a feeling that the UK following through on the Brexit would be bad for their well being as well.

I've never been a fan of bureaucracy, and the EU brings bureaucracy to new levels, almost approaching US levels.

@Finster, yes and no. To blame Bruxelles for all the bureaucracy issues an average UK citizen might face is missleading.

 

The exclusive competence of the EU islimited to the following:

-customs union

-the establishing of the competition rules necessary for the functioning of the internal market

-monetary policy for the member states whose currency is the euro

-conservation of marine biological resources under the common fisheries policy

-common commercial policy

-concluding international agreements (subject to certain conditions)

 

In all other areas where the EU 'interfers' comptences are shared with the Member States. Which still leaves a very large number of areas where the EU has zero comptence. Having that in mind the UK is a willing acomplice in any redundancy or substantial increase with respect to bureaucracy.

If you are a Social Justice Warrior, a member of the PC brigade its probably best to skip my post, sit around hold hands and sing kumbaya and not open the spoiler.   This is not meant to be a racist diatribe, I have tried to give a personal balanced opinion from my perspective.  Please stick any and all cries of racism and cultural marxisim supporting comments up your derriere; Im sick of lefties, SJW's and the PC brigade shouting "Racist, Homophobe" etc etc in order to shut down any and all vocal dissent.  

 
 
 
My perspective is as follows:

  • All economic arguments made by Remain/AKA Project Fear and Leave are a red herring.  All economic arguments are based on the premise as follows:  

  • 
    
  • Leaving will incur economic loss via jobs, taxes, pensions etc.  Staying will also occur losses as we (UK) pays its tithe for being in the EU and gives up a great deal of its sovereignty to be a part of the EU.  Both arguments are nonsensiacal to me; my only conclusion is that its to sway votes from the unwashed masses via fear +/- greed.
  • Any budget shortfall in the UK will simply be made up the way it always has, by lending money on the international and national markets and when that fails the Bank of England (BoE) will simply print the money - one of the "benefits" of being on a fiat monetary system. Here is Alan Greenspan - note and i paraphrase "we can always make cash payments, but we cannot guarentee its purchasing power".  
  • The world economy will be going to hell in the next few years, China is unraveling and a lot of banks have made the same mistakes of yesteryear and made bad loans.  Zero/near zero rate interest policies being implemented globally will kill bank profitability, putting banks back on the chopping block as they chase profitability and are further inclined to make riskier loans to maintain profitability. 
  • The global fiat monetary system is slowly unraveling, a few billion here, a few billion there counts for naught in the grand scheme of things thus is irrelevant merely political posturing.
  • There will be a crisis of realisation when it all comes to a head and people realise that they have nothing, it was all meaningless digits. 

  • The EU purports to support democracy whilst actively undermining it with massive amount of unelected officials making laws in its member states.  Why Britain seems to be so happy to implement these laws whilst others actively ignore them is beyond me but whatever.
  • Immigration.  The UK is a small island and our population growth is unsustainable.  The people of the nation makes the nation, the way things are going with immigration the UK will be an island where the native population are in a minority and we are awash with the third world on an island that happens to be called the UK.    We are importing into Europe a vast amount of different and bluntly alien cultures. 15 years or so ago you were getting the people that anyone would want, people that wanted to come here and be a part of the western world, obeyed our laws and most customs whilst practicing their own faiths; now you are getting the third world dross in the millions looking for handouts with no real will to integrate into the native populations and even if the will was there, the sheer amount of coming to Europe makes integration on a practical level difficult if not impossible.  
  • "But think of the children BNT" - I am, my yet to be born children.  African and Middle Eastern populations are set to increase dramatically over the next few decades; the continent is unable to support itself now and its population looks to the bright lights of Europe.  We cant take all of their poor now regardless of the current political will to let everyone in; what will we be doing in 20-30 years time when there's even more of them? Look a sad picture of a drowned child = let millions in at whatever expense be that economic or social to the native inhabitants.
  • All of these people fleeing persecution etc arriving in Europe, when will it be safe for them to return and if they refuse to return will they be forcibly removed?  No of course not, once in they stay in, we cant even get rid of the murders and rapists.  
  • I say the above with a Lithuanian female lust interest.  I also have a number (4 friends + 2 good colleagues) of 2nd and 3rd generation immigrant friends, who as it happens are also voting leave for many of the above reasons.

 

There are many things really, a lot of it minor, a lot of it too much for me to be bothered to go into.  I don't believe that the UK will vote to leave the EU, even though I will be.  There are a lot of people out there who would have no means to support themselves, are being cowed with fearful rhetoric by the powers that be mainly on a financial slant whilst overlooking the injustice that the EU foments and allows. 
 
Voting changes nothing, if it did it would be illegal; but I will go through the theatrics and pretend that "my vote is the one" that matters.  The EU is political monolith to socialism; generally I find that people are too stupid to see whats going on and will always vote for free shit; the free shit always comes with a catch.
