I just want to say that I understand why Samus quit playing. Getting killed on the first day in every game you play in isn't fun. Especially when you can't play in every game because you mod half of them.

 

The other thing that I will note to the mafia community at large here is that you realize by killing one of the most active players on the first night of each game we are only further rewarding and encouraging inactivity/lurking, correct? If we aren't going to target lurkers/inactives for a day 1 lynch in every game and we are going to kill one of the most active players on night 1 every game, why the fuck should anyone participate in the game at all? Everyone might as well lurk.

 

Obviously the scum will want to get rid of active players early so that things are easy on them later in the game, but FFS for the integrity of the overall mafia game, we need to change our collective habits.

We'll I see a PR. If I'm right that means we have 3 scum and 1 is at least a PR of some sort. We also might have other PRs among us, and I feel we should wait til tomorrow to RC (unless others feel different. I'm not the one making the decision here.)

TW didnt end the day with any active vote (probably the safest lynch the scum could find. Though a NL voter would've been safe as well.)

If anything, I'd say we gained a little.

TW began to question Lyner on his vote for Kazio. Lyner also seemed to state Rafay was believed town to him.but wouldnt be against a lynch because he claimed to just be a VT? Still losing a townie puts us in a bad spot.

My guess is Lyner is scum.

Also interesting to see is iSoc actively defending Rafay. I think that's a first. I agree that Rafay showed more willingness to post this time, but it died down during the end of the day. Are you really suspecting FB because you think Rafay is town?

I voted NL on Day 1 due to AbT's rather well thought out post stating the case for a NL.  I was quite ready to vote for Rafay (And had) but was agreeable to a NL.

Addendum:  Rafay has 7 posts.  I have twice as many.  Rafay's MO has been to lay quietly until the heat is put on him.  Then he comes in with a half-hearted effort and bails again until someone else gives him grief.  This can't be accepted playstyle anymore.

 

I will rescind my post on Rafay if an investigation shows he is town, OR investigation reveals scum.

 

I also welcome an investigation.  You'll find I'm town, and that I have nothing to hide other than a desire to win the game.

there is no reason for the Cop to reveal himself this early just to confirm 1 town person. If Rafay was found to be scum the cop would of immeditly posted and Rafay would of been lynched pretty easy. Due to the Tunnel vison on some people.

Your Tunneling isn't helping getting any new intel. You blaming Rafay for TW sounds more of frame then anything. sure he can be a jerk and his playstyle is louzy. But tell you what, I imagine if Rafay is scum, he will most likely be killed N1 for awhile because of it. Its unfortunate TW got N1 killed again. He died last game because I had a feeling he was already on to me and my partner (Witch he was). But this game it really was uncalled for. Hitting an active poster is one thing, but if your going to just hit the same player who was killed N1 numerous times already, your trying to get them to quit mafia. That is not only uncalled for, it should be considered by all the mods to not take player who purposely target people repeatably to sit out a game. Just my opinion if this is such a case.

Getting killed on N1 always sucks and I've always felt for Lyner who was getting killed quickly in HP games. I think we should have a conversation about the state of our games and what can we do to improve them - but that we should do outside of this game topic (so that everyone can participate).

 

Back to the game, TW's death and him being Vig means KevinH rolled at least two V's. That means first scenario (of 4 possible KevinH gave is) is out of the picture. It also means, if second scenario was true TW would be our only PR in game. So now if there's any PR left he realizes we're in either 3rd or 4th scenario (and VT's should also assume it for our own safety).

Secondly pushing for inactive lynch so early has it's merits (like forcing him to appear - and Rafay for instance has a tendency to disappear as soon as he feels heat is of him), but there are more important things to do here too (like finding a scum).

 

- FB feels a bit to emotional. It may be how he feels indeed. It might be scum trying to funnel attention of a town to a chosen scape goat. We'll be forced to vote today and if we won't get the idea who might be a scum, Rafay will be my choice. Still I don't want this day to be dominated by a discussion if we should be lynching inactives or not, because it won't give us answer on who's who in this particular game.

- iSoc has a point about the heat FB has created, though I don't agree with his stance on Rafay's activity.

- SBG, I feel RCing (especially mass RCing) should be considered very carefully. Scum can easily trick us (for instance if we're in scenario, 3 a fake Doctor claiming will push us into scenario 4 and we'll not realize that). Also could you tell us more on your reads about Lyner? Those things you mentioned don't look much convincing.

VVTTTXX = 2 Goons + Roleblocker
VVTXXXX = Goon + Roleblocker + Godfather

There are no "best" combinations here, since if we got the first scenario that means we only have to deal with 2 scums. But I think it's likely that we got the second/third combinations. It's still difficult to pinpoint our exact setups so let's leave that to our PRs, if there are any.

1. He's still lurking. Eventually he'll pop up again and post to make it look like he's active (but he's posts don't actually contribute to scum hunting) and then he'll disappear again
2. Investigating him will waste a cop's action and he might even be a godfather.
3. His death will give us some information
4. Lurkers should be punished

BTW, I think FB is town regardless whether Rafay is town or not. I think town players are more likely to tunnel vision than scum.

I think the activity generally died down during the end of D1 not just me.

Well I believe I've answered everyone but since I've answered everyone, how will my post count be up? Have you ever thought about that. This is my play style town or scum I'm not gonna change it just cuz some pampered white boy from upstate Manhattan can't take the heat of defeat. I'm the best player and this is my strategy period.

The 4 scenarios KevinH listed are not the only 4 scenarios possible in the setup. They are only the 4 that he amended because only those 4 setup results had an SK.

Is it really band wagoning if it's in indisputable fact that you lurk in every game you've played in the last 9 months? We've all seen it. Its been noted on numerous occasions. The town doesn't have any information to vote anyone else, so I'd prefer we vote someone who refuses to contribute anything other than "don't vote me OMGUS" (exactly what you did day 1 by voting me).

I shifted to no lynch based on the argument that we would not lose a day, as pointed out by Ali. Therein it benefits the town to no lynch because it gives any potential power roles another day to act before LYLO. I wouldn't personally have been against Lynching Rafay and then no lynching but the order in which its done makes no difference to me. The point is one day of no lynch didn't cost the town a day.

AbT, as far as my reads on Lyner they are purely in line with an FoS (not enough to warrant a vote.) I just find it suspicious how Lyner seemed to be the one TW was questioning about something simple and Lyner responded at the very end of the day (not enough time to respond to his claim.) Then TW ends up dead. It seems too small to kill someone over such a small question but when someone (TW) is questioning a scum, and the only one doing so, it makes sense to kill him over anyone else. While everyone focuses on Rafay, TW focused on Lyner it seemed and start of D2, FB is instantly raising attention back towards Rafay because its an easy lynch.

I'm guessing FB and Lyner may be scum here. Its a far stretch but its all I got right now.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. That's how I play and may play for more time. Finster has been a little angry after losing the last game to me so he's pretty quick to jump the gun against me. He could be scum or a townie but this behavior is indeed anti-town.
