No it's just because I think no one will be lynched on D1 because people are keeping their cards close to their chest. And that to me is scum tell.

Ok here's what I think. Frankly, I think either sojo is really scum because at this point still, no one is jumping on him so it must mean his Mafia friends aren't voting because Mafia would have jumped already on someone (assuming they number around 3 people in this game) to push a lynch. And no one wants to vote as the fourth person for lynching sojo because that would still make the half majority rule.

Secondly, I'm eyeing Martino and Narsis suspiciously because they have been saying quite persuasively and consistently that is in the town's best interest to lynch someone on D1 yet they haven't put their money where their mouth is. This paradoxical situation - saying lynching is good yet not voting for anyone - is giving me scum vibes as they could be prodding people to vote so that they can vote as well so as not to make their voting patterns conspicuous.

Sorry if it makes you uncomfortable but I just find it inconsistent to say on one hand we should lynch yet come deadline you don't vote.

It's a stretch to conclude there are masons or trackers but I don't think they are that powerful that they would unbalance the game.

There is a voting history whether we lynch or not. Those that push for a lynch are known whether the lynch actually occurs or not.

i was just pointing out that your reasoning for why sojourner is scum is flawed. you assume that he is mafia because he isn't dead yet. you say that if he was a townie then the mafia would have voted and he'd be dead. however, what if the people already voting him are mafia? and what if none of the mafia are voting? what makes you so sure that mafia would vote him if he is townie? it happens to be major WIFOM.

as for being defensive...over defensiveness isn't a scum tell and i'm not being over defensive.

I read through Wiki on this game and I am going to read through everything again and see if I can make some sense of it all. I hold my vote til then.

Yeah it was a major WIFOM. I would have said it after N1 but Aquinas was prodding me to and that was really my observation. You asked what if no mafia was voting - that's my point. I think no one's voting to lie low and avoid having patterns read. I'm just pressuring you all. vgm's not here so someone's got to be pushy. I'm almost always online so I like to provoke a response here and there.

Usually I rely on my instincts to point me towards the scummiest player, but at the moment I am not getting any definite signs from anyone. Soj doesn't seem to scummy to me, if anyone can provide a solid reason why he's scummy I'll vote for him. Other than that, I can't feel any real scumminess from anyone.

Sometimes there are scenarios that give clues about the game. Sometimes they are just "fluff" without real meaning.

To give more context, here's more of the quote

The sound of footsteps slowly echoed through the corridors of the institution, made by the few people who were left on patrol. The inhabitants of this miserable place were now mostly quiet in their cells.

The "few people left on patrol" could easily be non-playing characters, for all I know.
On the other hand, they could be trackers or masons. I'm not concluding anything -- just throwing out a suggestion.

I am glad that someone is finally talking about the scenario. I am still interested in the cop. If we lynch just anyone, won't we be taking a chance on offing the cop. This seems like a bad idea if the cop character will help give us clues. So the odds of killing the cop at this point in the game with a random lynch are what?
So what if these other characters exist...the nurse, security guard, psychiatrist etc. How does that change the odds of a lynch?

Still need some of the basics, I guess.

Please explain yourself. Also, Sojourner could you please try to explain again why you posted that you thought that EM was the cop. What were you trying to achieve?

I really prefer to lynch, but if Sojourner can give me a satisfactory answer, then I don't have anything against him. So that would just make it a random lynch, which doesn't give us much information.

There are 13 of us so if 1 is the cop, then the chances are 1/13. (You can more correctly deduce that a person who is not the cop has a 1/12 chance of lynching the cop.)

If there are more pro-town roles, we don't want to lynch them either. So if we additionally have a doc and a tracker that makes the chances 3/13 of hetting the really good guys.

All role fishers are either mafia or with power roles themselves. What's with the role fishing still? I thought we were scumhunting. The no lynch and power roles discussion are quite distracting I must say. It looks intentional on some...

Well it looks like this day may very well end without a lynch. Either way at least day 2 we can talk about other things besides to lynch or not to lynch.

It's harder for me to get good reads off of everyone this game. I think we would have known more if there was more pressure being put on others. People have a way of giving up more information when they're in fear of being lynched. Day 1 we didn't really have that much pressure being put on people. We could have done a much better job if people would have used their votes more. Even if you don't know for sure if the person is scum or not it's worth voting just to get some pressure put on.

The games the town seems to do the best in are when there are 2 or 3 people with the majority of votes. This can create good discussion and you have a better chance of seeing what side of the argument people take. The next day you can go back and analyze the posts and begin putting together patterns. By day 3 the town will have good information and hopefully some help from the town's possible power roles.

Whilst I'm getting a few PMs about replacing, more never hurt anyone.

Talk begins to quieten down on the ward of the Hospital. A few tentative fingers are pointed, and near the end sojourner begins to tremble slightly, but in the end, the inmates return to their cells for the night without a verdict. Everyone beds down for the night, wondering if those against them will strike again.

It is now NIGHT 1.
I need all night actions to me by MONDAY EVENING (I'm allowing an extra 24h for the weekend lull in activity). If I get all night actions in prior to this, day will start early.
