It's day 1 and we're grasping at straws.

A truly pro-town player will be voting no lynch with me (and get to say "I told you so" when the scum and misguided townies end up lynching a townie).

My reasoning for the suspicion is that scum would want to wait until a misguided townie starts a lynch and then jump in and try to complete the lynch.

The funny thing is that when players take that stance, they are probably scum. I know that there are some well-meaning townies will end up lynching one of their own but that doesn't mean that there isn't evil schemes at work.

I'm willing to bet there is a cop or some sort of pro-town power role. I don't want to risk lynching them on the first day.

if the cop gets lynched on the first day by the townies, i'm sure he wouldn't be of use in the future much. truth is that we need to see who votes how. if we start band wagoning the no lynch the scum will do it too, leaving the townies to fend for themselves and just place their faith in the cop not messing up. and i for one don't want to do that.

and, ooh yeah, your way of playing isn't the only one.

Yeah well it's my first time at this game. Don't know all the aspects yet ... still it seems to me that waiting for townies to loose 2 and doing nothing is just wrong; heck, better we kill one of our own and do something instead.

Hai Guise. Sorry about the inconvenience of prodding me. I was busy on a vacation this weekend. I'm still here!
I've been reading very closely on my blackberry however, and I do have an opinion the most recent discussion.

Its very important we vote on a lynch. Someone in this asylum is crazy after all but, clearly not all of us and certainly not me. We must stick to our convictions and hold someone accountable. Not acting we only cause us to loose ground with the bad guys being able to one up us when the night rolls around and we don't even have a conviction. I wonder, should we lynch those of us that are unwilling to lynch as they are contrary to the plan? That sounds rather crazy but, shouldn't we eliminate those in the way of finding the killers before we go about finding the killers? As our only power as townies is to lynch I think I should redirect my vote at anyone threatening to take my power away.

Well, you beat me to the gun but I was actually leaning on lynching KevinH because of his No Lynch strategy. No lynches at Day 1 only benefit the Mafia based on what I read at mafia wiki (yes, I read there coz I'm not totally pro ok). But I would like to hear more explanation from KevinH. If it's just to protect a possible death for a townie power role, I think inevitably that would happen anyway and we're not any better off without any information to go by the following days.
