Assuming there is a cop, he'll know for sure that someone is either innocent or guilty. We can guess who the cop is and follow their lead. It's not random on day 2.

On day 1, nobody knows anything. Sure, you can claim to see scumtells but their percentage of success is equal to the percentage of scum. Quite the coincidence ...

I'm sure Mole made some devious twist to the game, what with this many people playing ...

I repeat we've nothing to lose with lynching and we can get lucky (granted one in three, probably, but) and kill one of the bad guys.

Sitting around and not voting on day 1 is pointless as many have already said. How else are we to gain information? True the odds of lynching a townie over a scum is higher but it's a chance we must take, if nothing else it will give us information to go off of on day 2.

As Martino said, if we don't lynch today then what more will we know by tomorrow? We'll just start the day with 1 less townie. If we wait until we have 50/50 odds it will already be too late for the townies. We also cannot count on a cop to save us. What if there is no cop? Also how are we supposed to know who the cop is tomorrow? The cop won't come out and say it or even drop a good hint that he's a cop, if he does he's setting himself up to be night killed by scum.

Our best course of action is to vote for a lynch and go from there. The town will have the best chance of winning if we play this way. I love me some KevinH but just like my momma always says, "crazy is as crazy does".

But that's assuming you're a townie. As you said, nobody knows anything.

I don't think there's a cop but I do think there could be a pro-townie power role. Reading of the wikis, there's a psychiatrist role there. There could be one here being as the theme is a mental hospital. Though what the psychiatrist does I don't know. But usually it is to cure Psychopaths (variant of Serial Killers).

So assuming there's no investigative role, lynching would be the best option since even if we kill the Psychopath or Psychiatrist, it's not much of a loss.

The way I see it, if KevinH is scum then his no-lynch strategy allows him to slip under the radar and avoid being tracked through voting records. When Day 2 begins, I want the town to have information on every single person in this asylum. KevinH knows that his strategy is unpopular and nobody else will follow suit. He also knows the importance of tracking voting patterns.....

Glad to have you on my side this time.

Again, I just want to say (hint hint junkahoolik) that anyone wanting to keep their ability to vote and use their one and only power should vote against a no lynch strategy. This strategy marginalizes the townies role and forces us to wait on getting picked off by mafia. We need to act. We should lynch those who are going to make it difficult to make a key lynch vote later in the game because they want to wait and see what happens.

Funny but I was heading in the Kevin direction myself..if he doesn't know what to say then saying nothing is a good choice. I suppose it is just a guess but Kevin seems like the scum. I am never one for doing nothing.

If nothing else, I am consistent.

I was a psychiatrist one game and each night I could confirm whether one post was true or not. It was a good role and would be fun to see again.

I don't agree with Kevin's strategy but I don't see it as a scum tell either. He ALWAYS votes no lynch so it's hard to get a read on him this early in the game. It's interesting to see how many votes he quickly accumulated though. Reminds me of the Narsis situation. If nothing else though, it's good to see this much pressure being put on during this stage of the game.

yeah, they would come under suspicion. the one who started the bandwaggoning most of all. then the ones who stick with him... at least at the beginning. that's the strategy of this game.. at least i think it is. and besides, even if there is a cop, if he doesn't guess the first day, what will we do the second day?? have another no lynch?? and another RVS?? that only means a wasted day. and 1 less townie that is sure to be a townie.

Yes, he did. But that is still pretty remarkable. He gets attacked for his no lynch strategy pretty often, but this is the first time he has said anything like this. Why would he feel the need to tell us that he is not the cop? It could be reversed psychology. Trying to make us think that, in fact, he is the cop. Still, this will just draw the attention to him, while you would expect him to try and get the attention away from him. I don't really see a good reason for him to do this, no matter if he is scum or town. So, I'd like to ask KevinH a question. Why did you state that we will not be lynching the cop if we lynch you?
