It's the gladiator role and I wouldn't use it tonight. It's hard to imagine any scenerio where it'd be better to limit towns options.. maybe if you know who two scum are already it helps a little in ensuring town votes for known scum (which they should be doing anyway). In a game where everyone HAD to vote it'd be more interesting. Or if it was in the hands of scum, they could make good use of it. But for town? Essentially useless.

My thoughts on that group are:

Canik - I thought he was town when the vote was between him and brewers but that wasn't really based on a whole lot. Would like to hear more today about the new information presented and thoughts on current players.
Kitkat16 - Seems quieter than usual to me today. Would like to hear more today about the new information presented and thoughts on current players.

Firstly ABT, I am not a werewolf cop. I assure you that I am a Town Cop.

 

Secondly, I'm wondering about this too, Samus:

 

Yehom, Rafay, Jazzy y'all have been awfully quiet. Tell us what have you and your scum buddies been planning?

 

Also at this rate, maybe we need to start revealing roles.

 

We have 14 players left, out of which - if we're assuming 2 scum teams + 1 sk, with either 2/3 scum on each scum team. That puts us at a max of 7 scum players, 3 have now been evicted. So there's potentially 3-4 left.

 

Meaning 10/11 remaining players are townies.

 

This game won't last 2 more nights for the town at this rate, if we don't help to take out scum.

 

So I propose in the effort to help the town win this game, we need to start exposing our roles and or last nights actions.

 

For the sake of town winning, i'll start:

I'm particularly interested in the part highlighted in green. Did you not claim to be a town Nurse? Why does a Nurse need to be targeted by a Reloader? What would a reloader do for a backup doctor (nurse)? Or is there something else that you haven't told us?

Now thinking...assuming you're a Werewolf and Samus was your Werewolf pal, you'd had no interest in visiting him, since you'd like to find mafia and eliminate them. So you can't be both Werewolves. And if you're not a werewolf and he were a PGO Werewolf, you'd be dead after investigating him. So actually it's very unlikely that he's a PGO Werewolf.

On the other hand you could visit someone else and now claim to visit Samus, to make him more townish...which on yet another hand is not worth much when Rhizo is dead, so it's a weak assumption.

 

I guess bigger hance is that' he's a Vig that claimed a harmless role to be left alone by mafia. And now he got excited at the chance of shooting Rhizo.

 

But still I don't like lies and don't want to be struck by that 1% chance event, unless someone other than TW will claim (without sharing his role) that he visited Samus (that would mean he in no way can be a PGO).

Interesting theory about Samus and I would hope you are right as well. What doesn't sit well with me though is lying about his role when he wouldn't have had to. It was early in the game, it was unprovoked, and there were a lot of players left. And if he was going to give a fake claim, why not fake claim as something even more worthless than a town nurse to make himself even less appealing to a scum faction?

Re: your comments about me being quieter than usual, I have been on holiday for the past couple of days with minimal internet access (I could technically access the forums from my phone, but it was reeeeeeeeeeeally slow and the signal kept cutting.) I have just returned home and will now be more talkative. You can confirm this by looking at my profile and seeing that I have not posted anything on the IRON forums for the last day or two (you can guarantee that I would never shut up if I had internet access. )

My vote is staying right where it is, i.e. on Rafay. I'm inclined not to believe Samus' roleclaim. "Nurse" is an awfully convenient role to claim. I've seen scum fakeclaim it before. But I think Rhizo should be lynched tomorrow, and THEN Samus, assuming we lynch him.

I was about to say my only observation I'd add right now aside from the very obvious (I think Rhizo/Rafay are probably scum as advertised by their accusers. Samus lie is really weird and unnerving.  Quiet people are quiet and suspicious is) is.. that Kitkat has just seemed suspiciously eager to lynch. Voting for me yesterday saying that we wouldn't get much information D3 otherwise which I thought was weak reasoning and it's been proven so now since we did get a ton of D3 info. Voted real quick for Rafay, more understandable but lack of care about ending the day early is a little suspicious. And I'm pretty sure he voted to lynch quickly in D1 too. 

​Others are guilty of many of the same things. To some extent SM, Yehom & Brewers have done similar things but.. Kitkat stands out of the most. Behind him I'd rank SM, then Yehom, then Brewers. Brewers may be deserved to be ranked higher.. could he be a werewolf retired marine?

​BUT, that last post made me feel a bit better about Kitkat. It felt town. But still suspicious of him and obviously, he'd try to make all his posts feel town if possible.

The reason I voted for Rafay was that I was about to lose internet access and I wanted to place my vote on someone solid before I left. Even if I had temporarily removed it I would have put it back on Rafay at the end of the day anyway. I figured that someone else could unvote Rafay if it became necessary, which duly happened.

I honestly don’t have a read on anyone except Rafay because of the accusations leveled on him and Rhizo because of TW’s role claim/accusation.

I’m afraid this is not very helpful, but those are my readings.

I did see TW's revelation about Rhizo but was waiting for Rhizo to respond. Otherwise all I could have posted would have been similar to "Great job TW. Now Rhizo whats your defense?". But it looks like Rhizo has given up. So looks like he is done too like Rafay.

Now what I am seeing is that those who have not RCed are the ones being labelled suspicious, which is understandable but I would caution town against blindly believing in whoever claims a somewhat believable role. Samus just proved it. Why Samus chose to lie only he knows and he has some explaining to do, but it just goes to show that anyone can fake a safe role and people will tend to believe it. This is the same reason I didnt exactly like AbT and TW's posts where the implied message was that to prove town all you got to do is role claim and all the pressure is off of you. I hope you get it that how this can be exploited to scum's advantage.

 

Coming back to Samus, he seemed to have lied about his role. Now this can be because of one of the following
1. He has a powerful role so wanted to keep scum off his scent and claimed a safe role to survive. 

2. He is scum and mislead town by fake claiming. Now wants AbT to make a leap of faith and reload his ability, which like Robert can be used as a strong proof that he is town.

 

Now if we go with 2, I am still surprised as to why he would let others know that he lied previously without also mentioning in the same sentence why he lied. Did he forget that he claimed nurse previously? I mean it is not entirely impossible for someone to forget about continuing the lie and in the process expose themselves. Also if we assume he is scum, he may not necessarily be one shot anything but just using AbT to reimpose the faith that he is town, similar to Robert's case.
 

Also a question to Kevin, do all the assigned roles match exactly as given in the Greater Idea Mafia wiki? I mean a role which is mentioned as town will be town and their alignments wont be switched? Like a nurse will have to be town and cant be mafia/werewolf/alien etc since theres no mention of a anti town nurse role.


I will post more about the current players in a while as I have to go now. In the meantime I would like town to ponder over what I said above.

I want to make sure this is clear moving forward. I do not expect anyone to automatically believe my role claim but the information I presented can be easily proven in many ways.

 

Now having said that, I guarantee you that I am the Town Cop and that my results were as presented. Two people investigated as innocent and one as guilty to my investigations. The guilty result on Rhizoctonia is damning that he is likely our third mafia member so he should absolutely be tomorrow's lynch choice after Rafay is finished today.

 

The other two innocent results that I (SBG) received on Brewers and Samus are helpful in determining their innocence as mafia but do NOT necessarily guarantee they are town since my investigations cannot identify werewolves and one could be a godfather (but that would give the mafia faction at least 4 players which is unlikely). It is theoretically possible that one or both of them is a werewolf but I am not convinced that is the case. Although this is where Samus' role claim gets called into question and needs to be addressed directly by him. If he is town, why did he lie about his role and call himself a town nurse? Or if he really is a town nurse, why does he need ABT to reload him?  

 

@Samus - Please clarify your earlier role claim as a town nurse and why you would need ABT to reload you. Right now it looks like you lied previously.

@Brewers - I was not concerned about your pseudo-role claim earlier in the game but I think that it might be more important now for you to officially role claim since we are getting down to crunch time now.

@Rhizo - Any defense for my guilty result on you? There isn't much you can say honestly that changes the result but do you want to add anything?

Well I really wanted to see how the day would go and see if possible who would jump at the opportunity of using me lying to start a wagon against me, but didn't quite work out how I imagined it in my head

I did lie about my role and this was partly the reason.

 

As you know from majority of the games i've experienced i'm a normal 'early game' kill candidate, RC a useless role - to me - puts scums attention away from me and I guess it worked since I lasted this long lol.

Night 1, there were 3 kills - supposedly 1 mafia, 1 werewolf & 1 SK?

Night 2, there were 3 kills. But I used my action to target MK and kill him and so that means either 1 of the 3 scum faction were either inactive, an x shot SK or a faction's action was blocked.

Night 3, inclined to think Rafay is an x shot as I don't believe all 3 actions got blocked last night

 

But as per TW's revelation and Rhizo being scum I was planning to kill him tonight, which was why I asked for the reload. I already asked Kevin and he said I can be reloaded and use my action within the same night.

Normally the policy of "lynch all liars" in mafia is a good one to follow but even though you got caught with your hands in the cookie jar I trusted my (SBG's) investigation result more and believed that this was probably your line of thought. It had to be questioned though.

 

If Samus is a town vig and shoots Rhizo after ABT chooses to reload him tonight, that should be the end of the mafia faction. The remaining werewolves will likely target someone other than Rhizo then since they wouldn't have to worry about him if Samus would shoot him. They could choose to target Samus since he is a vig and could be dangerous to them later, or they could choose to target ABT to keep him from reloading anyone else, or they could go an alternative route entirely and hope they hit a better power role elsewhere. My guess is that they would choose to Kill Samus or ABT to remove the possibility of Samus shooting them later on.

 

What do you think ABT? Is it worth the gamble? I think it might be.

This is interesting too. If Samus shot MK on night 2 it likely means that the town succeeded in preventing at least one kill that night.. barring an inactive scum faction. I'm not asking for anyone else to role claim but if we have a role blocker or doctor they might have some information on who could have been targeted by another faction kill. Granted, that information will only get us so far with multiple killing factions in play.
