[TW-07] Pokemon Mafia - Town Wins

Featured Replies

I'm not asking to see if we should end the day early. I'm asking to see what would happen if we got close to the lynvh Total and then his scum partners pile on and hammer him in early. Would there be an activity mod kill in this situation? If the answer is yes there would still be a mod kill, we should under no circumstance get to 6 votes on rafay (I'm assuming there are 4 scum and 13 town) maybe to be safe we shouldn't even get to 5 votes on the off chance there are 5 scum

I highly doubt that TW would be that strict in those circumstances. Also I'm pretty sure scum wouldn't be stupid enough to pull such a stunt, but I could be wrong. Either way ending the day this early is a clear tell of scummy behavior, so why put the spotlight on yourself that way?

True that is a good point. But still, better safe than sorry in my opinion. No need to put him up any more votes. Rafay is already one away from the deadline Lynch total, so I just think caution is the better play. Plus the longer the day goes on the more Information we can learn
I wouldn't be shocked if Rafay was a mafia tracker. He picked KevinH as who he claimed he jailed and KevinH admitted he made no action, and as a tracker Rafay would know Kevin didn't do anything, so kevinH would not be able to refute his claim of jailing him

Hmm. I find this all very confusing. I essentially agree with Yehom. Even if you don't want to come out and vote to lynch Kevin on D1, or be overtly suspicious of him, why not at least drop subtle hints in your posts so that we can analyse them for later if you get killed? Instead you were inactive for the entire day, and then roleclaimed at the absolute last minute without giving us any information. Care to explain any of this, Rafay?

On the other hand, I'm also quite confused as to how multiple people can confirm with 100% certainty that Rafay is not jailor? As far as I'm aware there is no PR role that will not just tell you a player's alignment but will also tell you their role...?

I'm somewhat conflicted because I don't want to probe too deeply about how brewers and atliis are sure that Rafay is not jailor because it will give scum too much information, but on the other hand it would be helpful for town to know...

Well looks like Brewers has come out claiming that Rafay can't be who he said he is.  So far hasn't really elaborated on that, but nonetheless I don't think he really needs to at this point.  It would be a ballsy move and not a smart one for a Scum to try to pick off a mislynch today at the risk of knowing going to lose another tomorrow if Rafay came up town.  Rafay hasn't given any real defense other then counter claiming that brewers is scum.  I think Rafay is a pretty safe bet today, as I believe it would be assine of a move of Brewers to do so as a scum player, and thus no need for Brewers to RC as he'll be lynched tomorrow if he is in fact lying.

Don't think we should be ending this day early though, or at least this quickly.  Time to maybe hear other things out and get more information possibly, but tbh I don't know how well this day will do for getting much else out or suspicion (other then a RC catching another scum).  Scum I doubt will see looking to not be part of this lynch when they know their partner is a dead man walking.

In regards to AbT, I'm watching to see if he's killed eventually at night.  Everyone knows he was either hit by a Nympho, or a cupid, thus scum would want to take him out eventually (especially if they know they don't have a cupid role) to knock off two.  But not really surprising to not see him killed last night, targeting AbT last night if he is in fact town with a possible multi-kill possibility would be risky if he was protected by a doctor.  Though I would think scum would eventually go to him to hope to kill more then AbT, unless he's scum hit by a nympho.

vote rafy.

I can confirm he is not jailor.

This was honestly not needed.  Rafay was dead man walking regardless because it would be dumb of him Brewers to claim Rafay wasn't.  You're either just exposing to scum you also have a PR, or you're scum trying to gain town points by also trying to verify your scum partner is scum.   I am assuming it's the first, but really not wise of a choice to give scum a better idea of who you're if you can prove he's not a jailor.

Could be a good possibility, but doesn't necessarily mean he is one.  Could have a scum partner whois and that's how he knows, or could have a Rolecop and know Kevin has a role likely not used D1.

I am not claiming any role.

You claiming a role or not doesn't change the fact that you stated you know he's not a jailer.  You don't have to roleclaim to narrow down the possibilities of what role you might be to be able to actually make such a claim.  Why would you reveal such information when it wasn't in fact needed?  Rafay is going to be lynched, Brewers already partially exposed himself to what possible roles he maybe with saying he can guarantee Rafay isn't a jailer...why put more information out there to scum then needed?

Well to both of your points, just because someone jails someone N1 and there is no kill would not necessarily make me think for sure I was the reason to prevent it. There's many roles that could possibly explain why there was no kill, so not smart to just assume if he was in fact a jailer that Kevin is scum or to put votes on him for that.  If Kevin doesn't present anything D2 to bring suspicion to him to worthy a vote outside of the off chance your Jailer action was the reason to prevent it, it's not wise to just vote him with no reason given by his postings to then be questioned on why you're voting him and maybe forcing a RC.  That being said, Rafay's reasoning for Samus was nothing, so not like he cared about voting someone without any real given suspicion.

Also want to note, could he of voted Samus D1 because he was fearing being lynched at the end and Samus is a scum partner?  He had to know his vague and rather zero reason to suspect Samus wasn't going to push a lynch on Samus, but if he called him out right before he's lynched would maybe distance Samus from scum ties.  That same question could also go for Kevin.  Could Kevin in fact be a scum partner, for which Kevin could claim "i can't confirm or deny," in case Rafay's RC didn't hold up, and also give town points to Kevin if Rafay came up scum, again helping to distance Kevin.

Those are 2 possibilities in my opinion, and woudn't be surprised if one of the two were a scum partner.  Not enough solely to go on IMO yet, but worth noting

A 3rd possibility, though rather farfetched is Brewers is a scum partner and knowing Rafay was likely in hot seat D2, the scum decided to self sacrifice Rafay and have is scum partner Brewers counter his claim to make Brewers look town.  More farfetched at this point IMO because hard to get scum team to self sacrifice when they've only killed 1 town so far this game, but if they thought Rafay was a for sure lynch or likely lynch they could.

The question was not why Rafay didn't place a vote on Kevin. (I wouldn't have either. There's too strong a possibility that there are other explanations for why there was no kill on N1.) The question was why he didn't leave subtle hints anywhere that Kevin might conceivably be scum or that he had jailed him, so that if he were killed we could go over his posts later and get some useful information out of them. Simply to express a suspicion of Kevin would've been helpful to us.

I'm a town power role and I think I might be the one who saved the kill last night.

Explain please, I'm interested in what exactly this means. Also, why would you say something like this to paint a target on your back at the end of the day, knowing we'd have little to no time to question you about it?

You essentially mentioned you have a PR, and left yourself wide open to being killed without giving the town any information. I can't wrap my head around that honestly.

Seeing as he has been so cryptic and the power role that would have been most effective in stopping a kill has been removed and he didn't die when he said he had a power role this really helps me decide.

Lynch Rafay

I assume this is an official vote?

Yes sorry

Vote Rafay.

well, well, well.

@rafay, who did you jail last night?

i would love to know that.

also, it's D3.

RC are acceptable at this point. although RCs not relevant to the ongoing discussion are not encouraged.

If a player reaches the majority and is hammered there would not be a mod-kill for activity.

well, this is reassuring.

so as soon as everyone makes their stand clear, we can lynch rafay.

Vote: Rafay

just so in case i forget

Bah. I was too town for my own good, I guess. :)

@TW hit me up if you need a replacement.

well, well, well.

Why are you racing to end the day?  Enough votes are already on him and it's pretty much a given he will by lynched.

I didn't get the vote count yet, so I am not to blame.

Till TW posts the vote count and i see there is a chance of ending the day with my vote, I will be keeping my vote where it is now.

I am definitely not going to count the votes, if you are going to suggest that.

If it's a given that he is going to be lynched, then what problem is my vote going to do?

And unless someone is going to bring something up, I don't see any reason to drag this day forward.

Maybe because not everybody has had the chance yet to respond to everything that has happened today. It’s selfish to deny them the opportunity to contribute. Not only that it’s absolutely not in towns best interest to rush this. Why are you in a rush? It haven’t even been 24 hours since the day started

well, well, well.

So suggesting role calla are okay, when it really would hurt town more than help right now, and trying to end the day early? Feels scummy to me
