It's been a year since this plague engulfed us all.  I was looking at the picture I took about this time last year at the "No Frills" grocery store.  Madness, absolute madness.  Did I tell you how much, during the shutdown , it meant to me to be able to log in here and shoot the shit?  It meant a lot.  It was nice to hear about how each and every one who chose to participate were doing.   It filled me with hope. 

I think it saved my sanity.

I've been reading Bob Woodward's new book, "Rage".  It's kind of scary to see how government's knew about this and choose not to act.  It's even more interesting and horrifying to see that despite being warned not to trust China, because it has a history of stonewalling and covering things up.  Our elected officials did any way.

 

Personally, I'm hoping for a Commission of Inquiry  into the Trdueau Government's handling of this crisis.

I'd like to know why intelligence about a new influenza like virus in Wuhann, that was received in January was ignored by Sparkles McSocks.  Why he thought swanning around the world to win a UN Security Council Seat was more important.

I'd like to know why he chose to virtue signal because closing the border was racist for some reason, as opposed to protecting the lives of Canadian citizens.   Which epidemiologists have stated cost us weeks.

I'd like to know why Trudope tried to use this crises to throw his buddies, the Keilburgers and their failing WE Charity nearly a billion dollars in public funds.

I'd also like to know what they were thinking when they decided to partner up with China to develop a vaccine.  A country that ultimately stabbed us in the back, they took our money and ran.

Okay, major development... For the past year, the Gold Coast Casino, which I frequent, has forced everyone to enter into one door, so they can take temps, ask if you have symptoms, and make sure you have a mask. They had people posted at all exits, with tents and heaters, to ensure no one entered through those doors. Well, I went there this morning, and it's all gone. Freedom is returning!

It's been a year. 

Have I mentioned how much talking to you during the Plague meant to me?  It meant a lot.  There's a lot of reasons, the main one is I have PTSD.   Not from my service,  but from my time teaching.  I spent 8 years teaching in isolated communities in Arctic Canada.   Being forced into isolation put me in a bad place.  I am really grateful for having this outlet to talk.

Hell, I'd love to be able to send each and every one of you a little token of my respect.   Not some CN BS, but a real thing.  

 

I found out this week my husband is getting the vaccine in April.  Which is a great relief considering his health problems. 

The Drill Hall at work has been booked for mass vaccinations, which means I'm getting mine in either May or June.

I'm not a very outgoing guy, but damn, I'm so ready to finally have this end and be able to go to a café or a restaurant. I can consider myself lucky, I've got a stable job in an organization that could transfer its activities online, and we can all work from home. But people working in HORECA, have it terrible.

With now western vaccine #4 (J&J) describing bloodclots as a very rare side-effect, I would like some input from the more medical orientated people on here about the following:

 

Could it be that it is actually our own body's antibodies that trigger those bloodclots? And as such would make it so that ANY vaccine meant to combat COVID-19 has a plausible bloodclotting side-effect?

 

Is this in line with the actual disease having a more pronounced pathology of bloodclots as our body is in a more at-risk state coupled with greater anti-viral responce from our own immunosystem?
