Rules:
• During the Day phase, each player may speak and vote in-thread.
• If a player receives the majority of the available votes during the Day, they are lynched.
• At deadline, a player with half-majority will be lynched; tied votes will result in a player being lynched at random from among the tied players
• You may vote No Lynch.
• After the Day, the game goes to Night.
• The game thread is closed during the Night.
• All Active Roles may submit actions via PM at Night.
• The Mafia can, as a faction, kill one player at Night.
• Mafia factional kills are assigned; they display as an action to the Tracker and the Motion Detector actions.
• The mafia faction kill is mandatory.
• Mafia may communicate at any time.
• After the Night, the game goes to Day.
• All dead players (lynched or killed) can no longer participate in the game.
• Basic rules for maintaining the integrity of the game thread are in effect (i.e. players may not quote their Role PMs, nor may they discuss the game outside the game thread unless otherwise permitted, etc.)
• The game is won when only one faction remains in the game, or nothing can prevent the same.
• Mass role-claiming is allowed.

Game Days will last half as many real-life days as there are players alive.
Game Nights will last 48 hours.

Sample Role PM:

Hello, xxxxx
You are a Vanilla Townie
You win when all threats to the town are eliminated.

Lynching inactives is the low hanging fruit when you have nothing else.

Voting for brewers right now is just spiteful.  If he's a JOAT you'll be pissed and have a huge target on your back.

"If he's a JOAT" applies to everyone, those low hanging fruit inactives too. It's really not an argument.

But since you're defending him in a such way, let me jump on the wagon

You have a point on the inactives, tho you'd think someone with a role would at least attempt to participate.  Just my opinion of course.

I just hate the random "throw something at the wall and see what sticks" vote.

with this game inactivity will kill us. so we can lynch at random and maybe kill an active player or we can take out an inactive player. if we are going to just lynch a random person as its being suggested then it makes no sense to say "if we were going to vote off an inactive it should have been done yesterday, not today."

How does lynching someone at random who might actually be active and contribute to the game help us more than lynching someone who is inactive? if you can explain that that to me, then I will happily join the random person lynch train.

currently rafay, wp, and velocity are WAYYYY behind the 8 ball. Tho its not out of character for WP to not post a lot in early games. Rafay is usually a bit more active but he also hasnt been posting a lot recently in the other game.

either way, if we go random, or not we need to actually take our time today. no rushing the vote. and hey, maybe our JOAT knows something lol

I have a 7 day work week this week, so don’t expect my posting to go up very much. I’ll try to post at least once or twice every Irl day, but I can’t guarantee anything.

After that I should be okay heading into the next months.

Velocity 6 - I am divided, i like Lynching Velocity normally, but Nadarr isn't here to misguide him, so *shrugs* i don't have anything on him for now.

Rafay 5 - Can always try lynching him; always a good strategy for d1 and d2.

Wolfpacks 5 - Classic WP; the thing about WP is if i prod him with a vote, he will just use one of his template replies, something on the lines of "If by activity, you mean a lot of fluff posts, then no"

So I am not even going to try.

honestly the more I think about this, the more it feels like scum trying to find a reason to lynch the most active player in our mafia games and a player with a very strong scum hunting track record.  Like I previously said, scum tend to want to join in the middle of a wagon, not end it or start it, and ABT is doing just that.  I feel like there is a decent chance he is scum and trying to look for a reason to join my wagon (when there is zero reason for there to even be one lol)

while voting me is spiteful and kind of annoying, since apparently its becoming a theme to try to lynch me/start a wagon on me early in ever single game (i think its three in a row now?),  if u vote off anyone and they are a joat the exact same thing will happen lol

Finster and TW: Why THE HELL did you explain to me why I’m wrong then ask me why I changed my mind when I saw your reasonable POV? You don’t want me to change my mind?

I missed it.  Sue me.

I didn't expect you to react so nervously.

Being active player does not make you a town. Neither does praising yourself about alleged strong scum hunting abilities. It does not tell at all who you are.

And if you really were such a scum hunting pro, you'd never come up with such simplistic wagon jumping excuse.

Being a pro, you'd also not push for "no lynch" on D1 where all data presented showed it was non-optimal choice.

Being so active you could also prevent D1 from ending prematurely, by unvoting for the time being, when we got into just one vote from majority.

But if you were a scum you could happily let all of those happen.

Honestly, I have no idea if you're scum or town (like I have no idea about the rest of players right now). I poking you because of Finster's post, but your over the top reaction is very interesting.

Finster and TW: Why THE HELL did you explain to me why I’m wrong then ask me why I changed my mind when I saw your reasonable POV? You don’t want me to change my mind?

Tony, you provide no additional context when you post. I’m pushing you because mafia is a game where you oftentimes need context or additional explanation for actions taken so you can effectively judge a player’s actions.

You explained that ending the day early yesterday benefited the town more than the scum. I was questioning you to get an explanation for how you believed that was the case. All you then said was “It doesn’t”. So you backtracked without providing any reason for it, hence my additional follow up question.

Over the top/nervous? All I did was point out how scum typically like to join in the middle of a wagon and how there is currently a form a wagon on Brewer's in every single game trend going.

Wouldn't you be frustrated if every single game you played recently people just decided to keep voting you, usually for no reason at all? Lol It used to be I was night killed day 1 or two every single game for about a year and a half. And now it's form a wagon on Brewers right out of the gate for no reason lol so yes, I'm irritated. Tho aparently I'm not allowed to be irritated when these constant trends keep happening.

And wagon jumping excuse? What are you talking about lol. I haven't been wagon jumping. I suggested no Lynch because in every single game where a Lynch is happening town has been getting destroyed. But hey if you think that we are gonna play better as a town than the last 11 games, more power to you. I don't share those same hopes, hence my no lunch suggestion.

So if anything now you're creating lies to try to get me lynched. I don't know tho if that means you're scum. You made shit up and lied to get LWW lynched in my game going on right now, and just so happened to get lucky and Lynch a scum player. So I guess ABT straight up lying and misstating facts isn't a direct indication that he's scum.

You don’t need context for me to change my opinion.

It’s not up to you to tell me what I “need”. I’m doing my due diligence to help put the town in the best position possible to win the game. In a game with few power roles and little chance to get actual evidence, questioning people and analyzing their response is our best weapon. Surely you understand.

With 14 alive it takes 8 to lynch, or 4 at deadline.

Deadline is Saturday, August 29 at 23:59 EDT.

Well, AbT is getting good at the lying game, perhaps even able to stand up to Limey Lyner himself, i give you that.

And regarding Limey, he's on your wagon too.

Robert started the wagon.

With just the accusation that it's random voting.

Then lyner jumped in with.

if we want to off the least inactive person we should've done that yesterday

Vote: brewers

lww is probably killed because he's one of the top posters

He states that Lww was killed cause he was one of the top posters.

All the while voting for another top poster.

ABT jumped on the wagon.

Cause he has a bone to pick with you.

And cause finster reiterated the age old policy of Lynching inactives and by extension, brewers.

So he's going after the exact opposite of an inactive, the top poster.

And brewers is voting for ABT, for counter.

Rafay is voting for Robert, as per tradition.

WP is voting for rafay, the same Robert voted for brewers, random voting.

Also, something weird is happening with Tony.

He says that he thought that town benefitted more from early ending of d1.

When asked why, he makes a 180 and says that it doesn't benefit town.

And goes on a ramble about how he doesn't need to give reasons for his actions.

Which is what's baffling me.

When i do anything a little out of place, i am immediately on the fast track to getting lynched.

While no one here seems interested in giving more attention to Tony.

That about covers everything that happened today.

Advocating for an inactive lynch on D2 is the easiest path for scums, I don't like it.

Less talking, more voting. Help cover for JoATs.

Also if scum is pressed they will 100% claim JoAT, further confusing town. These JoAT roles are a disadvantage lmao

So in every single game when it's suggested (which it is) you always vote for the people suggesting it? Or is this a new thing for you?

@lyner

Did you forget about this post? https://ironcentral.org/community/topic/64618-ro-03dawn-of-justice-mafia-survivor-victory/page-15?do=findComment&comment=1008082

You agreed to voting for the inactives on day 2... And you were still town at that point. You didn't become scum until day 3 in that game

So what? Before you were all in favor of voting an inactive off on day 2 when you were town. And now you are saying thats a scum move and you think I'm town for it? That is a direct contradiction.

Unvote

Vote Lyner

You even said "if there is nothing I default to voting the inactive people"

So your default strategy is to vote inactives if there isnt actual info lol

So yeah, you're 100% contradicting yourself here

Less talking, more voting. Help cover for JoATs.

Sure if you want to play random name guesser instead of mafia that is a very viable strat

The more we discuss the more we have information the more we can see through people. Even lies are information

The reason why we like to Lynch inactives when there's no alternative is, cause it's the least risky.

If they flip town, it's not much of an issue as they weren't contributing either way.

If they flip scum, well jackpot.

So it's a win or least loss situation.

i see what you are getting at but in this specific game where the scum is taking off heads of people who are being active it gives the scum another free top poster kill doesn't it?

I do not think voting inactives is telling anyone is a scum sure i can see the reason why this could benefit the scum but it is not a sure proof because it does make logical sense to take out the inactives but i would prefer to see an alternative if anyone has one

And by alternative i do not mean go for the head of the most active person that is just doing what the scum wants if we lynch the top guy then we are less exposed to opinions and more susceptible to get sweet talked into the way of the scum

You even said "if there is nothing I default to voting the inactive people"

That's for Day 1. We're at day 2.

Err, that game has a totally different setup
