Doing a bit of research, I stumbled upon something called a Jester. Is it possible Canik is intentionally enticing us into voting him off for this reason?

No way cannik is scum in my eyes. He's frustrated.

Beat you to the punch by just a hair. There appears to be a possibility of it, considering how his post/discussion length changed from D1 and D2 to now. I can't think of a good fit for a Jester in the Halo world right now, but Velocity did say that the roles may not be sane.

It's definitely possible but this would be a pretty unique way to go about playing the role. Usually people just act really scummy on purpose, but asking people to lynch you seems a bit too on the nose lol. Also adding a jester is generally considered a bastard mod thing to do, and I feel like Velocity wouldn't do that on his very first game.

What in the fuck just happened? I have never seen someone argue so hard for their own lynch. A couple questions for you, Canik: 1) Are you actually drunk right now? 2) Did the drinking make you post all of that? Most importantly: 3) Whether drunk or not, why are you arguing for your own lynch?

1) not *now*

2) I'd give a lot of credit to boredom. drinking made it longer and crazier tho xD

3) Because I went through pretty much all the players early(ish) on D2 and a majority had voted to lynch scum. Those who hadn't, I glanced through the previous 8 pages looking at their comments. Several had made comments that encouraged the lynch of scum. Giving them lesser but similar value to a vote. I didn't see one from Tony, so I voted for him, or I pointed it out at least. Then someone pointed out he did say MK was trying a distraction play and iirc, it seemed to be common knowledge Tony was definitely gonna hammer MK. I didn't see where Tony said that but like I said but several people seemed quite sure it would've happened.

It seemed everyone had *at least* a lil something to claim some town cred.

Captainjf was last on the list, I can't recall anything about him. I believe I mentioned him though and he probably had some fuckin' town cred too. xD

I recall thinking FB and Ferastical's comments against scum weren't *that* strong but they had some.

It seemed Kevin had no such claim to town cred yet though and I believe there was some suspicion towards him. Then I somehow missed or didn't register the votes on Rafay at the end of D2. I did not realize Kevin had voted for him, I thought he still had 0 town cred. He had voted for AbT before that over MK, there was some suspicion around him so then Day 3 began I voted for him. And then, it was pointed out to me and I finally registered Kevin had voted for Rafay, the 2nd vote on him, suddenly had solid town cred.

FB and Ferastical also voted for Rafay.

There may be 1-2 players left out there who haven't voted for a scum and whose comments against scum weren't *real* strong.. but they still probably have something because I am pretty sure I went through all the players and any that I didn't see much town evidence for I'd vote for or point out and every time someone would point out something they said or did that made them look town. A few of the times it was quite strong evidence in their defense and/or something that was embarrassing not to know because it was like, recent and obvious, or w/e.

And then AbT and others would pop up after sometimes and be like "Hmm that's suspicious you vote for them without evidence."

*So to sum things up:*
I viewed my situation as this -

Anyone would did the research would see me having 0 town points and, scum points are more subjective but at least a couple, arguably a quite a few.
Meanwhile from my earlier research + the votes on Rafay that resulted in a successful lynch, I think everyone else would have some defense.
I thought people either already knew this or would find out soon and it would add to Kevin's already reasonable vote on me.

It seemed to me too, that everything I've done in this had been a failure. If I had influenced people, it would have only lead us AWAY from success. Town was winning not thanks to me at all, they were winning IN SPITE of me.

So instead of fight against the inevitable just to save my useless counter-productive ass, I thought it best to encourage my own lynch. Everything I'd done seemed such an abysmal failure, luck was against me, I haven't always had time during the week to check in. Things been chaotic in life. It was hard to imagine things improving. In a dozen ways, getting my inevitable lynch out of the way seemed IMO the best thing for town.

Hilariously in a very sad way, I failed in this too and everyone thinks either it was a mistake and/or I was selfishly giving up, not caring about my team, like I'm trying to ruin the game.

I honestly just cannot see canik being scum at this point. No way would a scum player advocate for their own lynch.

And when you consider that two scum are already dead it's most likely 11 v 2 so that's a very big up hill battle for them, so I highly doubt scum would do anything that puts themselves in the forefront right now. They are probably going to hide back in the shadows and piggy back on people.

He is voting cannik because he doesn't like self voting. Not because he thinks cannik is scum or isn't town. He just doesn't like it. Could be a very convenient excuse for why he jumped on the canik wagon like that if canik did get lynched and turned out to be town

I disagree that a scum would never self-vote. It's a Wine In Front Of Me situation.

Now that we know Rafay was scum ...

Brewers gets a double dose townie points for being the deadline hammer. If they were scum buddies, it would have been easy to push either no-lynch or my wagon.
The others in on the Rafay lynch get a single dose of townie points.
Those not in on the Rafay lynch get a single dose of scummy points.

 
 
AbT gets a pass because we know he is not the same alignment as Rafay and Lord MK.

Canik, on the other hand, comes up with "I think I might know who another scum is tho" and votes for me.
I'm town so he must be scum. (OMGUS)

lol damn, it's hard to swallow, but yeah.. I seriously did have a bit of a mental breakdown these last few days and was throwing tantrums here. It's been a while since I got that bad and had about half a forum calling me out. Reminds me of some early days in FEAR, and I loved FEAR for it. Needed called out. (but thanks too to those who show a lil love and understanding, that's also needed) And I thank you all for doing the same. <3

If there are infinite timelines I guess I could have posted this in one. xD

but I believe your point is to show an example of how I could have probably recovered without much effort and it is a great example of that.

Seeing that relatively short list with some likely looking candidates on it I went back and looked through pages leading up to MK vote:

*LWW was on the MK wagon early and with commitment. Very town.

*Wolfpack joined the MK wagon early as well but later switched to Brewers, changing his mind and deciding Brewers was lying about the 50/50. Not as town as LWW, but I believe Wolfpack's stated motive for switching was probably genuine.

For what it's worth I will give what I remember from my quick look back. I'm not going to strain myself with it, which I think we can all agree is probably a good idea right now. Not to mention I'm probably still about to be lynched either way.

*The Warrior - from what I saw, actually rather suspicious. he sort of corrects Rafay and I think MK once or twice. when they say nonsensical things he is of course like, "yeah I don't get why Rafay would think that either" (when Rafay said 50/50 made the choice harder).. only after MK was pretty well screwed I saw TW start to hit harder.

*Robert - was on the fence some, gave some serious consideration to AbT. Only saw a comment that suggested a lack of concern for MK when a few votes were on. Only said he planned to vote for MK near the end.

*Tony - when he made his first "MK distraction play" comment, indeed it was before MK was mod-killed, but it was also going south for MK.

*CaptainJ - no offense CaptainJ, it's understandable because you are new, but all I remember is noob questions.. not sure I saw/remember them all tho.

Yeah, I'm unvoting myself now (if it's not too late already). Both to make sure the day does not end early and because now I see options appearing more "human" and with less town cred than I had built up in my head.

While I agree that what Canik did yesterday should be discouraged I think it's highly unlikely that he's scum. He would basically be game throwing and further ruining Velocity's first game.

Very likely it's true, but I'm keeping my vote on principle. Personally, I wouldn't want to see stuff like that happening in future games, and I do hope you understand where I'm coming from, Canik.

Honestly I cannot believe Rafay was scum, or that we somehow offed two mafia before a single townie died. This game has completely thrown me for a loop.

It has been surprising but it does happen on a rare occasion. Things may start to even back up now tho, with probably only 1-2 mafia left and so many town, the odds of mislynch are high.

Also, I was pretty sure I voted on Canik before I switched to KevinH last day (otherwise I wouldn't post "unvote" before voting on KevinH). But I couldn't find that post...do we still have a problem with someone accidentally deleting posts  ?

I'm pretty sure Canik was just reading scummy behavior without considering voting history the way he wanted to. He admitted as much in one of his mega posts, but I cba to find it lol. Who knows though, I thought the same thing about Rafay (he seemed to just be playing as himself and nothing suspicious) but I was obviously wrong there.
