I mean they can't hide forever or they'll be inactivity lynched, so they've got to contribute something, right? Also I just get the feeling that he's trying to play his normal self even though he's scum this time around, but I could be wrong. I don't think I've ever seen him as scum in a game so it's hard to tell.

Speaking of that though, does anyone have a recent post count? I'm curious if anyone is noticeably hiding at the bottom, especially since the start of D3.

@Tony, I stand by my decision. Why vote for someone who is 90% confirmed town?

 

 

alright so, i threw out a late vote on MK yesterday not realizing the deadline was so close... I was hoping it would pick up steam because I am pretty sure he is scum.  And here is why:

 

I am not going to fully role claim,  however, velocity did give me a special ability BEFORE the game actually started.  I was able to chose two players and was told if they were the same alignment or different alignments. 

 

The players I chose were ABT and MK.  

 

I chose ABT because I have never played with him as scum, and in the previous games he has been pretty aggressive towards people, and to me, he is still kind of an unknown for if thats just his playstyle or there is more to it.  So i wanted to use him for it.

 

And I picked MK because MK has a reputation of sometimes acting a little scummy, while also making up information.  

 

The result I got was "different alignment"

 

So that means either one is town and one is not town, or both could be different non town factions.  With no kills last night, I doubt we have multiple scum factions so to me, its more likely that one of them is town and one is scum.

 

And based in D1, i am fairly confident that ABT is the townie in this situation.  ABT hard core pushed for us to lynch rafay yesterday.  I dont think a scum player would do that d1.  I could be wrong since Rafay is well, Rafay, and no one would really give anyone shit for pushing a rafay wagaon, and ABT could be scum and know this, BUT, i think its far more likely that ABT is town.  I threw out the torres comment on MK yesterday because it makes sense he would be worried about toress killing him again IF he is scum.  And now today MK just threw a vote out on lyner with zero explaination.  Again, this makes me think MK is the scum in this situation.

 

while I am pretty sure a lynch of mk will result in us getting scum, he could still be a third party role or town.  If he does flip town then obviously that means ABT is not town.

Not that I believe it is happening in this game, but it's a good scum ploy to push to lynch one of their own early and then look townie for the rest of the game.

They can hide by making safe posts and contributing safe things. I hate to say it (because TW has been nice and argued I'm likely town) but TW's posts have been gnawing on me all day. They've just been so safe and neutral. Leading up to MK's lynch, he doesn't attempt to really defend MK but does encourage MK to defend himself, and doesn't really go after MK either, just kind of safely goes with the flow. His interaction with Rafay too, knowing Rafay was scum now.. maybe it's my imagination but I get a feeling like I'm watching scum team talk.

Tony is suspicious as well though. He has 40 posts and yet it's hard to remember anything he's really said. Nothing particularly useful or bold anyway, that I can recall. He did say "MK is making a distraction play" but that was after MK lynch was looking sure.

Just to answer this question that was brought up by many, I left my vote as No Lynch on D2 because by the time I had a good idea, Rafay had L-1 or L-2 votes. I didn't feel like ending the day very early. In addition, Rafay already had enough for the lynch to occur by the end of the day so I didn't see a reason to vote with 1 hour left either. Sorry if that makes me look scummy, but I wanted to gather as much information as possible first.

Well, in a sense, "No Lynch" is that someone else you advocated for.

 

I totally get it by the way, as a new player you want to be cautious in order not to attract any suspicion, but so does scum, and that stands out to experienced players. This is one tip I can give you: if you're town, show us you've got the balls of a townie. Vote, even if you're not certain, speak, even if you don't have information, just do stuff so we know that in the end, you're here for cooperation. That's ultimately why we voted Rafay off, and if you at least try, no one can really blame you for not putting in effort, eh?
