Hysterical SNL skit on who Democrats will nominate for 2024. It's 3 months old and I just saw it.

Once in a while, they do some real comedy.

I don't think anybody can intelligently claim Biden has done a good or even decent job as President. 

 

is Trump the answer, not likely,

while statistically he did a very good job with the economy, jobs, border control and international relations the fact that the media has become so toxic when it comes to "evil Orange man" and openly covers for the current president it will be almost impossible for him to get re-elected, 

 

I don't think the left has a quality candidate they can put ahead of Joe, - perhaps Newsom?  he would carry California and New York, as well as the deep blue States, however, he is pretty far left and has very limited international experience 

given that information, I'm Not sure how well he would do with the moderates. 

 

I have been watching Nikki Haley, She seems pretty interesting for the right,  Seems somewhat middle of the road. Also; a well qualified female of color she would be good for the Republicans to nominate. She has A great deal of international experience and is respected by other world leaders- something we are sadly missing with the current administration.

Wow... I gave up on this here because I used to have fun with it, but the things that have happened in the past year have changed things for me. I had a good time talking about things, but Democrats have turned so completely dishonest, hateful, and totally corrupt... I no longer enjoy exposing how stupid their policies are... now I just want them all to die.

 

It's all pretty much cooked on the Republican side. Trump has a lock on 60% support of Republicans... it will carry through the primaries.

He will not participate in any Republican debates, and it would be foolish for him to do so. He has already won the nomination, and he knows it. The ridiculous attempts to ruin him will fail.

 

Ron DeSantis took too long to enter, and in doing so, he lost all the momentum he gained from his reelection. It also allowed his enemies too much time to tear him down with negative attacks before he was even a candidate. He remains my first choice.

 

Nikki Haley will not get enough support. She supports unlimited US aid to Ukraine; this is a losing position. She will not be on the ticket for VP because she ran against Trump. Pence and Christie are gone... again, attacking Trump. Vivek is smart and has mad communication skills... but he is young, and he has never run for elected office.

 

Trump wins the Republican nomination, and my guess for his VP will either be Tim Scott of South Carolina, or Kristi Noem of South Dakota.

 

Joe Biden is an empty suit, and that's exactly what Democrats want. As long as they can control him, they don't have much to worry about. Democrats still control most of the media, so they just need to keep hiding him. They have no one else.

 

Kamala can't win an election, and Newsom has continued to destroy California. Both of them are from the same corrupt state, so they will stick with Joe until the bitter end.

 

I have little hope for anything good to come out of the 2024 Presidential election. Civil war seems to be the most likely scenario. For 49 straight months there have been more than a million guns sold per month in the USA. They were not purchased to be wall decorations.

You may be right about that. Democrats want to make it a crime to believe it's all rigged, but at least we have Elon.

He's one very rich man that calls out the lies and tells it like it is. I would vote for Musk if I could, but he's from South Africa and he wouldn't want the job anyway. I could actually bore you to sleep with all the things Democrats wish to make a crime, while totally ignoring real crime, but I'm pretty much done with trying to help them out... best to allow them to fail hard and then clean up the mess later.

Summary of my feelings:

 

DeSantis is the best choice without shadow of a doubt from Republican standpoint, but all major media will stop at nothing to convince the unthinking public that he "has no campaign," "has no momentum," or "is doing nothing and saying nothing."

 

Biden is a free ticket for establishment politicians to continue growing and maintaining the ever-toxic status quo that is Washington DC, and Trump is the only person Biden can run against and manage to still win. Which is why for as much as that same media says that he's horrible and terrible, he's the only candidate that they continue to give unlimited free coverage to.

 

Unfortunately each election cycle is producing less and less hope for a cooperative resolution to the ever-expanding social policy debates that we're faced with. At this point all we're missing is one lawmaker caning another and we'll be right back in the mid-1800s.

Absolutely, it would take an entire overhaul of our government. However the POTUS is a huge starting point, as the main role of the position is to be the figurehead and overall spokesperson of the federal government. But it is very fair to say you are right, even with a perfect POTUS who fights tooth and nail for the citizens and not their checkbooks there's very little that can be accomplished without getting new blood that feels the same into Congress. Both sides have an issue with that.

 

Where I derive my beliefs is looking at the future of both parties. Younger Democrats want to fashion themselves as extreme progressives that push for policies that basically lead to Socialism. That is bad.

 

Younger Republicans tend to feel that we've gone too far and have let the government balloon into a monstrosity. When you cut away a lot of the social issues and all the crap that media wants people to focus on, the true intent of most people I speak to in this group simply want the government to stop trying to shove its nose into everything.

 

Government is meant to run the country, not tell us what and how to think. That's where Republicans have an issue and Democrats continue to go all-in.

Both sides just keep going into the wrong side of their prefered "issues" while slowly draining your nation of the very middle class that once "made america great".

the problem with Socialism is simple, 

whatever the government gives you can and will be taken away when you don't do what they say, 

 

like mice in a cage, you are fully dependent on the good grace of the hand that feeds you,  cross your master and you lose everything, 

this is why Creeping socialism is so dangerous, you don't know how dependant you have become on your master the government until it is too late- your food , your home, all gone - 

 

quite honestly, the only role the Federal government's of any nation should be is 

1) Common weights and measures

2) common nation defense

3) interstate and international trade-

That's absurd. According to you, two people can't shake hands, work together, or agree on anything, without socialism.

Dare you to walk into a crowded military bar and yell "You're a bunch of Socialists!".

Some of the things on your list were created with socialism directly responsible... I would support to dissolve them completely.

You seem to have the misconception that anything government does is socialism.

You also seem to have the misconception that the USA is a Democracy... it is a Constitutional Republic.

The only power the Federal Government has over the States was granted to it through the Constitution.

The States can take that power away at any time... let's have a Constitutional Convention and see how things change.
