Mage Wars Mafia

It was quiet that night in Arcanus, as usual. It was around midnight, and most everyone was in bed asleep, or getting ready to go to sleep. Suddenly, powerful explosions rocked the town. The whole town shook as though it was an earthquake. Out of some windows, you could see colourful flashes of light. Then it stopped. Puzzled, afraid, and intrigued, the townsfolk got out of bed to investigate. They found the fields of Farmer Joe scorched badly, and here and there it looked as though there had been an explosion. Talking amongst themselves and putting tow and tow together, they soon realized that these were no ordinary explosions; they were caused by magic. Everyone headed back to their homes in fear and awe wondering what would happen next...

Damn. I think AoD and Carl Vincent are townies. EM or Theo maybe scum. Mole is more likely an overzealous town on D1. And I also agree with EM that I think more scum didn't vote for Kevin than voted for him. So possibly 1 scum in those that voted, two that didn't. Analysis later to follow.

that is true, however

this.................

how true kazio... but, @ falzis, seems we have a bit of time to enjoy ourselves now so... THE MADNESS MUST CONTINUE!! (well, at least a little bit more :P )

unvote

vote kazio because he always has little girls on his avvy... and they get changed too often!! whyyyyy?? :P

is clearly a joke vote

this however........

You want to stay crazy???

Fine...

I'll vote for you instead...

Vote: junkahoolik

is a OMGUS

and Carl Vincent didnt say a thing about being confused about random voting, he was confused about the no lynch not being a normal thing.

KevinH - 6 (Electric Mango, molestargazer, Martino, Theophilos, angel of doom, Carl Vincent)[/color]

Carl Vincent - 2 (Falzis, Sir Jesus)

junkahoolik - 1 (Kaziocore)

molestargazer - 1 (KevinH)

Not Voting - 2 (CanucksDynasty, junkahoolik)

Ok. Like I said, I don't think AoD and Carl Vincent are scum. That is because even if they didn't vote KevinH would have been lynched (half majority by deadline). No one was even considered as an alternative lynch to KevinH so he was surely to die with just 4 votes.

I get a good vibe from mole in his aggressive stance which leads me to believe he could have been just an overzealous town on D1, like I was on another mafia game.

Electronic Mango could still swing either way but with more points on my townie meter because of his different meta in this game during D1 from previous game when he was mafia. Although, I'm not discounting the fact that he could be scum who got lucky in his random vote and stayed the course while others quickly piled on KevinH.

I'm suspicious of Theophilos though since he was the one who actually placed the lynch vote (half-majority).

FOS: Theophilos

For those that didn't vote for KevinH, I believe Sir Jesus to be townie as well much like what KevinH said. This is because he, like I, suspected KevinH to be a pro-townie power role and avoided voting for KevinH. Had SJ been scum, and saw that KevinH was a pro-townie power role, he should have helped in the lynching. Of course it could be WIFOM that he could be scum who wanted to avoid detection but for the meantime, I'm putting him in the townie side.

I have no read yet on Kaziocore with the lack of things I could use to read him. A little bit the same with junkaholic, but his Unvote of his random vote on Kaziocore is still suspect until I hear a reason why he didn't vote for KevinH and why he didn't place a serious vote.

CanucksDynasty is, I believe, split evenly. He could be scum or townie because of his unvote. As EM said, it could be a distancing vote from lynching a known townie. But it could also be because he believed KevinH and didn't want to lynch a pro-town power role. So he's 50/50 in my books.

I didn't vote for KevinH because I suspected his poem hinted at caging a wizard(the mage filled with rage in the cage? i think that's how it goes), and wizards are the enemies in this game. I voted for Carl Vincent because of inactivity but I don't think he's actually scum as aforementioned.

KevinH - 6 (Electric Mango, molestargazer, Martino, Theophilos, angel of doom, Carl Vincent)

Carl Vincent - 2 (Falzis, Sir Jesus)

junkahoolik - 1 (Kaziocore)

molestargazer - 1 (KevinH)

Not Voting - 2 (CanucksDynasty, junkahoolik, Kaziocore)

I just noticed Kaziocore isn't included in the last official vote count of Narsis. He should be in the Not Voting. This post is just for easy vote reference.

Ooops. Sorry. There you were. Well then, my analysis for junk applies to you as well, except you didn't unvote. So my question to you is why didn't you place a serious vote?

Because I don't know who to vote yet so all I could do was to random vote.

I had a feeling that KevinH was not really scum on D1 so I haven't voted him. I think he acted like that on the previous game and he was townie.

he acted in no way like his previous games. he was all over the place in his voting and posting.

@molestargazer

and just because someone didnt vote for kevinH doesnt mean that they arnt scum.

Bad news is that KevinH was a townie after all, but judging by there being only 1 nk, it would appear that there are no sk's.

Martino was the one targeted, which is kind of odd in a way. Martino and Mole were the ones who did the most to lead the charge against KevinH. With Martino gone, it leaves Mole as the primary pusher of Kevin's death. This makes me think that scum wanted to set it up this way so we would go after Mole next. Also Martino was one of our most veteran players, taking him 1st is what I expect other veterans to do as well.

Something tells me that there were more scum that did not vote for KevinH then there was that voted for him.

CD is the first one that comes to my mind. His late unvote on KevinH seemed suspicious, as if he wanted to seperate himself from lynching a known townie. He's also smart enough to know that the scum stand a better chance of winning if the vets are taken out 1st. He may also be after revenge for being nightkilled so fast in the last game by Martino and SJ.

FOS CD

That bolded part is plain silly.

I had already explained why I unvoted. I thought he hinted he was a cop. If I hadn't unvoted...he would have been lynched with subsequent weak votes from AOD and Carl. And we would have ended the day much sooner without giving KevinH a chance to defend himself and continue discussion.

FOS EM - your vote was random but when the votes piled on...you were reluctant to unvote KevinH in fear of it making you look scummy. If you were a townie...why would you care so much?

OMGUS?

Also my previous post should answer your question:

Some other posts came in as I was typing this, let me respond to CD's question.

My vote on KevinH was random and I have not changed it yet because there is no more evidence against any one else than there is on KevinH. Also, any action taken by me would look suspicious and I would have a good chance of coming under fire if I changed my vote. If I unvote Kevin then we will most likely not have a lynch tonight. No lynching gives us no info and is bad for the town. If I do something bad for the town than I would be "scummy".

Also there is a chance that if I moved my vote Kevin may still be lynched and could be scum. Making me look very suspicious and probably the next one up on the chopping block.

Any one else that I vote for will have virtually no chance of being lynched anyway and that would look suspicious. The only other vote that has a chance is No Lynch and I am not going to do that.

Basically, if I change my vote it will look bad for me. I know I'm town and I don't want to do anything that looks suspicious and waste the next days lynch on an innocent me, when I'm much better left alive and scum hunting. KevinH has as good as chance as being scum as anyone else and the reasons against him are as good as we have on any one else as well.

This is also why I wanted to change my style for this game. I loved my aggressive style of the past but it kept getting me lynched by fellow townies and I wasn't making it to the end game where I felt I could make a real difference. I'm trying very hard to find a good balance of scum hunting without putting my own neck out too far. I guess we'll see what happens.

Of course it doesn't.

I just wonder why you're bringing such a small point up now.

Is this addressed to me?

It's ok to change game styles but I think it's not ok to want to appear townie at the expense of your convictions or beliefs of lynching someone. Actually, that is partially the reason why KevinH was lynched by you guys, because he was inconsistent with No Lynch and a harmless Lynch vote, the purpose of which he said was to appease anti-No Lynch crowd. You're doing the same.

I get what you're saying. Everyone wants to reach the end and play a critical/heroic role. But if you're really town, your goal first and foremost should NOT be lynching for the sake of appearing townie but lynching for the sake of killing scum, which would entail a strong conviction despite possible misperceptions.

Re-read the posts.

I firmly believe 2 mafia voted for KevinH. It was their best chance to remove a pro-town power role without using a NK. Cuz a doc may have been able to protect KevinH if he didn't get lynched.

6 people voted for KevinH.

Electric Mango, molestargazer, Martino, Theophilos, angel of doom, Carl Vincent

#1 molestargazer - placed 2nd vote and pushed for role information

#2 Martino - 3rd vote with weak justification

#3 Electric Mango - 1st vote could have been random but didn't unvote

#4 Carl Vincent - Lynch minus 1 vote

#5 angel of doom - Lynch minus 2 vote

#6 Theophilos - 4th vote with misguided justification

Out of the list...

EM and AOD stands out the most for me.

EM left his vote on KevinH cuz he didn't want to appear scummy so he could reach the end game.

AOD faulty logic on losing a doc if KevinH was protected which was clarified by several other posts but he still kept his vote on KevinH.

Possibly scum but probably townie:

  • Junkahoolik
  • Kaziocore
  • CanucksDynasty

Most likely townie:

  • Sir Jesus
  • Falzis

I'll take it with a grain of salt and believe in KevinH insight on this one.

KevinH Townies

Falzis

Sir Jesus

Townies (my gut feeling)

Junkahoolik

mole

Undecided

Theopolis

Carl Vincent

Kaziocore

Who I think are probably scum

Electric Mango

angel of doom

With that...

Vote: angel of doom

fazis, i actually placed a serious yesterday, but since everyone was piling up on kevin and CD stopped giving me scum vibes, i unvoted. hmm... i think it's time for me to come up with a case tomorrow against someone. i'll read everything when i'm sober and stuff like that that is good for the brain (and for the analytical properties too) :P
@Everyone - please name 2 people you suspect as scum out of the remaining 5 that voted for KevinH. If you like...name 1 or 2 people that didn't vote for KevinH that you suspect as scum.

I think that not 2 but only 1 scum voted KevinH. The mafia people may have figured that even without their help, the town will lynch KevinH as long as his votes reaches like 4 or 5 because the other townies will start to bandwagon. Right now I'm not sure who the scum is in the KevinH wagon.

And right now I'm still suspicious of you CD for unvoting after KevinH's votes reached 5 and for telling that you don't mind him being lynched just because he's a pro-town and not a townie (i read your explanation but i'm still suspicious of you).

@Falzis I explained why I voted for Kevin already, including the fact that I was willing to risk a townie getting lynched as long as there is a chance we (the townies) might get to lynch scum. Kevin was as good an option as any other on the first day and he might have turned out scummy. The fact that he didn't ... bad luck for us townies, nothing more.

The other possible scum: EM and probably molestargazer ... need to re-read everything before I can add more.

who i think it's scum?? CD and EM.

They are at each other's throats. I don't think you can call that 'distancing' even.

But assuming you are correct, may I know why you think so?

I think that not 2 but only 1 scum voted KevinH. The mafia people may have figured that even without their help, the town will lynch KevinH as long as his votes reaches like 4 or 5 because the other townies will start to bandwagon. Right now I'm not sure who the scum is in the KevinH wagon.

That's because I thought he had different win conditions from the town. Sorta like the survivor game I played where a TV executive. I usually lump in a vig, cop, doc as townies...but KevinH said it was separate. Thus the confusion with lingo.

If he had said he was a pro-town vig...I would equate that with townie.

I don't know about only 1 scum voting for KevinH.

That's leaving alot to chance that townies would have voted for KevinH after he hinted to a power role.

When I unvoted...it was down to 4 votes.

KevinH could have conceivable manage to persuade a townie to unvote...bringing it down to 3 votes (not a deadline lynch).

Howver, before that could happen...the 5 vote came in and then the 6th vote.

It was apparant that KevinH would be lynch as not many would have unvoted by then for fearing being labelled scum (see EM explaination).

That's why I think 2 scum voted for KevinH.

One vote in the first 4 votes (I suspect EM).

One vote in the last 2 votes (I suspect AOD).

That's my reasoning for suspecting them.

Hmm interesting analysis on the last 2 votes. It is agreeable that AoD's vote made unvoting and saving KevinH's neck unlikely. But I'm still pegging Carl Vincent as townie since his vote would be a vote of superfluity.

I want to know from AoD why he didn't unvote given the explanation that his scenarios could be prevented if a normal Doc was in play.
