Plane Crash II - Game Thread - GAME OVER!

Featured Replies

as predicted the scum didnt nk.

another interesting thing is that it is now fairly obvious that mole didn't foresee the plan we came up with. otherwise why change the 5-1 rule? what that means now that the rule has been changed...well not much really. but it does mean we had the right idea to a winning strategy. which makes me wonder more about those that advocated for a no lynch yesterday(except for Kevin who always seems to no lynch).

so now what?

well, the power roles must know something. guess this one is follow the cop. i say nl.

what's nl?

and we were right no NK would happen.

nl=no lynch

we have already voting patterns from d1 but we don't have a killed townie based on those voting patterns. and since the main reason for voting crazy of was inactivity, the leads aren't good really. but, i'm open to suggestion. anyone have a better idea??

btw, weren't there supposed to be some clues in the rooms??

I'm wondering if any of us got any items. I didn't get anything. :(

Well, yes, the power roles should know something, but why would it be a winning strategy to go for no lynch and play follow the cop? I would agree with this strategy if we expect the scum to continue to do no night kills. But with the rule change, I believe it is clear that the scum will start killing again. So that brings it down to a much more regular game and I think we can all agree that no lynching and following the cop is a horrible strategy there.

vote: junkahoolik

I think we can all agree that no lynching and following the cop is a horrible strategy there.

I don't agree.

What if these assumptions aren't true?

  • It's an assumption that mafia can kill in any room.
  • It's an assumption that mafia will night-kill again.

I don't agree.

I'm sorry. I should have said, I think everyone except KevinH can agree that no lynching and playing follow the cop is a bad idea in a regular game.

The first one does not really matter. We can go back to a division strategy if they cannot kill in any room. I think it would even be best to stick to our division strategy just to be sure. However, the only thing that really matters for the no lynch debate is whether the mafia will nightkill. I'm assuming mole changed the rules because the mafia has no chance of winning if they cannot perform a NK. So I think it's safe to assume that the updated rules will give the mafia a fair chance of performing a nightkill. Should they still choose not to perform a nightkill, we play follow the cop starting tomorrow. But I think it would be a mistake to start following the cop today. We will lose a valuable discussion day and we won't have any votepatterns to use.

QFT.

also @ junk: no we didnt get any information because the mafia didnt nk. unless you are referring to the item thing...in which case i have no idea.

martino, we have voting patterns. we don't have information regarding a nk. we also don't know if the mafia can move where ever they want to nk. the power roles and the mafia should probably know though. i doubt the cop wasn't announced if he can or can not investigate anyone in the plane. and it's probable that if the cop can investigate everyone, then maf can kill anyone. if he can't, mafia can't kill just anyone, there are still restrictions. i think today we nl and start a regular game of mafia first thing in the morning. as for room placings, i say we change rooms but keep the same partners just in case the rule wasn't modified. that way, if it wasn't, the cop will have scanned both their roommates. we can shuffle them afterwords to provide the power role with fresh meat to scan.

We're working blind here. The question is what is a more reasonable assumption. I'm leaning towards that mafia can move anywhere and because of this will most probably night kill next as aforementioned by EM, Narsis and Martino. Maybe our strategy of room division was perfect to the point of game-breaking.

I'm still very curious to the items thing and whether it's true. I don't know how mole makes that happen, whether it's random by room each night and randomly picked up. If anyone got any item and it's advantageous to tell us, I hope someone steps forward. I would like to know what kind of items there are and if at all they're important to the game.

The 'Mole finally gets off his arse and does a vote count' VOTE COUNT

junkahoolik (1): Martino

Not Voting (11): Narsis, Junkahoolik, Electric Mango, KevinH, Firkked, Sir Jesus, angel of doom, Falzis, Kaziocore, Aquinas, CanucksDynasty

I think not necessarily they can move anywhere but maybe they can now move two rooms now but nonetheless they'll really use their night kill now.

And I don't know about my roommates but I haven't received an item in my room.

I didn't find anything in my room either.

The distance limitation removal benefits the mafia as our previous strategy was "game breaking" as noted above. It doesn't matter if it is now 2 rooms or unlimited, our strategy was only effective when movement was limited to 1 room only (eg even with a 2 room limitation we'd have to stack people into rooms 1 and 9 only, making the limitations on catching scum very ineffective; more range further exacerbates this problem)

I'm thinking a max spread is now more ideal if and only if for the sake of getting items, assuming the items are worth something in the first place.
i think there are 2 enemy factions. 2 mafia and 1 sk. i think they didn't nk cause of the thought that the other would do it. why?? because getting 5 townies dead at the cost of 1 maf player while the others are not even suspected is a good deal imo. of course, there is the possibility that the maf were placed all in the same room bu the chances of that happening are too small to consider. these are my thoughts for the moment.

Now, this is kinda of weird. What made you think that?

We, well at least I, thought that the mafia wouldn't nk because they will get caught if we only have 12 people.

2 enemy factions? I don't understand.

Now, I am worry about the items.

They could have the possibility of turning a townie into a mafia or a sk since well, rules can be changed in mid-game... that is kinda wrong. Maybe we will be playing a vampire mafia game... what would mole think of next?

People cannot change alignments.

The rule changes were to stop a game-breaking strategy from the town, and to make the game focus more on scumhunting. It is unlikely to happen again.

There are no vampires on the plane.

I am not a bastard mod.

There are mafia amongst us. They can influence our lynch. They could win that way. Especially if there's not a cop.

I'm willing to assume that there is a cop and that the mafia had a night-kill option but didn't use it for fear of exposing themselves. Meanwhile, the cop learned something about somebody. I'm looking to follow....

I'm looking to follow....

...follow the cop?

So this means you're going to vote No Lynch?

You've almost always voted no lynch on Day 1 but have always decided it was in the towns best interest to lynch on Day 2. What makes this game any different than the rest Kevin?

uum... we're hoping they will influence the lynch most of the times??... that way they give themselves out by voting patterns??... and cases??... and being pushy for lynches??...

though this day i think a nl is in order.

There could actually be no cop looking at the flavor first post of mole. But of course it's still more probable that there is otherwise we'd be too disadvantaged... but it could also be why mole rebalanced the game by removing rule 5-1.

@junk and sinkon

You guys are out there. First, to junk, where'd you get the idea that there could be an SK? And second, to Sinkon, I just LOL at the vampire idea.

Mafia Zombieland! Garrrr...!

Columbus: [while running towards Tallahasse and being chased by a zombie] Don't swing, don't swing, don't swing!

[slides under Tallahasse's baseball bat]

Columbus: Swing, swing, swing!

It could be fun :P

You know, if mole did tell us that there is no zombies, I would've look more into things too. Like how someone talk because maybe inorder to invoke the power of zombie, one has to talk a certain way. Maybe use a keyword or something like : Garrr!!! flesh...brains....blood....hunger....must feed....oprah...(opps that slipped out)
