  1. I am saying that we either take the highroad or we don't. Right now we aren't and we are hiding the fact. Many of these "terrorists" are actually just normal people. These bombings turn them into martyrs. I would rather leave 1 alive than make 10 more because we killed people are random.
  2. Except not everyone we bomb are at war with us. Perhaps this article can help shine a light on the issue
  3. except there are countless cases where there was a suspected terrorist and we bomb innocents. The thing that makes them the bad guys is the same thing that the killbots are doing.
  4. To what end though? Bombing of a hospital, and countless on countries we aren't at war with.
  5. It wouldn't benefit him to stay back and not help Sansa, even though she give him the finger, doesn't mean he wont fight Ramsey. Especially when you consider if he does that means no Northern army would stand in his way to get the iron throne, hell he might even end up getting their support because of it.
  6. Look at you, still have photoshop open to prove you didn't do it
  7. Now we just bomb them with killbots. What a time to be alive.
  8. No I meant the largest terrorist attack on the US, ever. But hey ignoring pieces of history to over vilify someone is always smart. While I agree that would be a terribly difficult thing to handle, he went about handling it in a completely backwards way. AQ laid out their strategy for our government and then our response was to play exactly into their strategy and more. I guarantee you that Bin Laden was celebrating when we invaded Afghanistan and partying like no other when we invaded Iraq. In fact I think our invasion of Iraq just blew his and everyone else's minds. And in case you haven't noticed, the entire plan with 9/11 was to: Provoke an over-reaction. Check. Bog down the US in a war that will never end. Check. Drive the US into crushing debt. Check.I mean it probably wouldn't be so bad if we didn't literally play into their hands with literally every god damn thing we did. Especially when said strategy was no secret. Over-reaction? Of course but everyone was wanting it. Congress, the House of representatives and even the public. You cannot honestly blame that on one man, especially when no one spoke against the action until we were way too back. The fact that we reelected him after is proof of that. Now I am not justifying his presidency especially with how much I hate "no child left behind" and the "patriot act" but there were no innocent parties in government back then, and a good bit of them still hold office.
  9. I had similar thoughts. She might just say screw it and try and convince Dragon lady to side with her before the uncle and even show up. Either way the ball is in her corner.

  11. evil + evil = bush. Bush wasn't evil. He did some stupid stuff but no US president had to deal with anything like he had to.
  12. Good will always defeat evil, but what if it is two evils fighting each other?
  13. TPE - The Prolific Empire.
  14. Exactly my point. No one expected Ripley to be the survivor if they had to guess at the start.
  15. It is kind of like when the movie Alien first came out. Everyone assumed that John Hurt's character was the main character but then he died. Then Of course they would assume that it had to be the Captain, a strong guy who is obviously American. Then he died off and Suddenly it is Weaver's character that is the actual main character. They have done that same trick on us several times already. Ned Stark, Robb Stark, and a lot of characters who could have been.
  16. It would be difficult for them to do anything even if there is a trap. These are well trained, veteran fighters of massive number against lightly armored, and under-equipped zealots. I am not saying that it wont work in the short term, but both factions fighting and weakening themselves gives the Lannisters a huge advantage which they would exploit.
  17. This was established fact, not a one time fluke. Anyone want to bet that the Lannisters will betray the Tyrell's when they march on the high sparrow?
  18. Mine is quite high and let me be clear, I am paid above minimum. If there is any economic disasters from those states it is because of state governments micromanaging funds, which has been a staple for Washington. However with weed being legal there I seriously doubt it will happen and there are no signs of that occurring.
  19. The federal government isn't the main factor. The fact is the minimum wage is too low for many reasons, and I have yet to see any counter point here that is backed by fact, or a valid news source
  20. But minimum wage hasn't been keeping up with inflation. It has been outpacing it for years. The buying power is lopsided. Yet things are actually cheaper now than ever before. Labor, materials, and refining processes. The national minimum wage in 1978 was $2.65 adjusting to inflation that is $9.72. The current average national minimum wage is now $7.25. So just going off of that your first job you would have netted about $315 a month ($1.97/hr), versus the $400 you were getting ($2.5/hr). Also none of this is factoring in taxes and as you've said they have gone up. Here I thought the future was supposed to be better and brighter. To add to this to compare the two weekly incomes 1978, 40 hours at $2.65 plus inflation would be $388.8 per week. ($1555.2 per month) 2016, 40 hours at $7.25 would equal $290 per week. ($1160 per month)
  21. Yet in one of the links I posted showed a drastic drop in the unemployment rate. Of course not all of them, but a good portion of them are trapped, and that is the point. Lets say that only 20% of them have no options; don't you think that is 20% too many? Especially when there is no proof that it would impact us negatively?
  22. I just read something recently that there are quite a few job openings that can't be filled because of drug testing requirements. Of course, I can't find the news article that this was in, but the gist I got was, there are plenty of jobs available, but nobody to fill them because they can't pass the drug test. I wasn't able to find anything off of a quick google search, if you come across it again i would be interested in seeing it.
  23. I'd call it layoffs or extreme inflation. I don't see what is so difficult for people to understand about this. There is a cause and effect to these things. If people expect fast food restaurants to raise their minimum wage to $15/hour, one of two things will occur: 1) Layoffs 2) Extreme inflation People will either lose their jobs and be making nothing or your hamburger will cost $56. There is no third option. The people behind the $15 minimum wage are not trying to earn a living wage. They are asking for it to be given to them. This is a fundamental problem with our society. You are not entitled to something just because you think you deserve it. You have to work for something if you want it. I worked in a fast food restaurant during my senior year in high school and then off and on throughout college when I was home for breaks/vacations and made $7.50/hour. I even went back to the restaurant after graduating college and managed the store for almost a year and only made $11/hour. I never expected to make a living working there, nor did I want to. I was only there to make some money until I found a career that actually required something of me. If you want something in life you have to work for it. If you don't want to work for it then you aren't going to get it and you need to adjust the way that you live accordingly. I consider myself to be in the middle class and I've worked to get to where I am. I don't expect to live like I'm in the upper class. I don't spend money on stupid non-essential things on a regular basis. Now that doesn't mean that I don't splurge from time-to-time but I am generally protective of what I have earned. If you want a better life, make a better life for yourself. Get an education. Learn a trade. Develop valuable skills. Just stop pretending that you deserve something and should demand it from the government just because. Inflation will always be there, infact it has been increasing even without minimum wage's help. Losing jobs because of raising the minimum wage is a myth. Hell here's a few more huffingtonpost The daily Dot Alternet Forbes As for working towards a career that is fine, but I know several college graduates that took 2+ years to find a job after graduating. All while paying student loans and working minimum wage and barely affording rent. Plus it is easy to say that when the opportunity is there, many people I know would never be able to go to trade school, let alone a college.
  24. People do things without being motivated by greed all the time, and I am not suggesting that it goes away. Greed is good, just not at the expense of others. For instance gambling as you pointed out isn't a bad thing if done for entertainment. Ideally everyone in the USA would get the basic human needs and would work for fulfillment, and luxury items. Unfortunately we are far from being able to provide for everyone here, not because we cant but because of people who are mega-greedy. My question is cant we have our cake and eat it too?
  25. That show is ridiculous. I liked the main character and the story was interesting but I am a fan of happy endings and code geass didn't get all the way there
