[KH-17] Matrix6 Mafia - Mafia Wins!
I haven't the faintest idea who the scum is. I do not have time right now to go through this thread with a fine tooth comb. As for saying that what I'm really saying is "don't vote for me or the scum will know who I am", no, I insinuated nothing of the kind. What simply went through my mind was "well, as a last resort, i'll roleclaim if i have to, i am not going down without using every option available to me."

Ok... Reading that there are only two possible things you could claim (besides scum): 1) Vanilla Townie 2) Town Power Role If you claim 1, you're claim means nada, because everyone can claim that. If you claim 2, you'd be killed by scum tonight because there's either only 1 or 2 town power roles out there. Roleclaim is pointless because it'll either be weightless or set you up to get killed, and in the end the statement that you will roleclaim in my opinion sounds like a desperation move not to get lynched. That hadn't really occurred to me. I simply saw roleclaiming as a common thing people do when possibly on the verge of being lynched. There are all sorts of options that you need to consider, though. If I roleclaimed a power role then tonight I could be protected by a townie with a power role. I could be a one-shot bulletproof (although I'm not.) And it would be too risky to claim a power role if I didn't really have it, because I could be claiming something that someone else has. It'd be shooting my last chance of not getting lynched in the foot. All I'm saying is that you're a little quick to jump to conclusions. But of course you're right that roleclaiming is a last resort. The fact that I'm not doing so yet means that I'm not quite at the point of desperation. But I can certainly see that I'm in hot water here (due to no fault of my own )

Well, because captain has been inactive I have taken 15 minutes out of my day (despite being very busy) to read this thread, because given captain's inactivity I thought it was unfair on you guys to have to wait an extra day. It's difficult for me to comment on the machinations of captain's mind, however reading the posts as an objective bystander (as it were) and knowing his role I can only say it's inexperience. I just don't have time for a detailed evaluation of each of his posts (let alone speculation as to possible scum) until later. But some comments: - His post on the first day is easily attributable to noobishness. TW says it makes even more sense if the other scum (are there two scum in this game, or more? I found the description of the setup slightly confusing nvm, reread it and it's clear there are two) was voting for him. But I don't think it makes it *THAT* much more sense than the explanation captain already gave. I have to say that most people had decided to give the noob explanation a pass, and I find it slightly suspicious that TW started pushing this argument. For reasons others have said in this thread, he's already a somewhat/ slightly suspicious character for making it to day 2. This is not an OMGUS situation, it's just me genuinely saying what I think to be true. - Captain's failure to withdraw his vote I'd put down to it simply not occurring to him to withdraw it. There was no possibility at that point of TW getting lynched, so it's not some kind of genius masterplan to get TW lynched by keeping his vote on him. He simply kept his vote on TW while considering whether to vote for someone else (as he explained.) Shrug. It's not that compelling a piece of evidence, at least in my eyes. - Captain *HAS* been quite inactive throughout this game, but that's not some scum masterplan either, as we can see from the fact that I've had to replace him. He's just inactive for other reasons.... probably not committed to the game. I am known for being hyperactive on these forums and I can confirm that I'll be around and about, assuming that you guys don't lynch me. So inactivity on his part is not a good reason to lynch.

Hey guys, Yes, just so you know, I'm replacing Captainjf. I'm afraid I have my (unfinished! lulz) Honours dissertation due tomorrow (although I'm trying to wangle an extra day's extension) so I just don't have time to read through six pages of mafia thread at the moment. I have barely skimmed the thread, but I saw TW say that whoever replaced captain should provide an explanation for his actions. I can't do that right just yet, not because I'm a scum but because I'm just a bit busy right at this moment. But I'll do all my 'splainin soonish. ~KK

I tell a lie. I *DO* have something else to say. I visited SM's profile and went through her posts on the IRON forums outside of the mafia threads in the lead up to Wolfpacks' lynching. She was telling the truth that she wasn't around in the couple of days that led up to that. So in fairness, it's important to point out that may have been the reason she didn't vote Wolfpacks. She did however post other stuff on the forum on the same day that Wolfpacks was killed, almost exactly two hours after the fact. TW announced the lynch at 9:48am and she posted elsewhere at 11.45am.

OK. Having reread the last 10 pages again (albeit not in *THAT* much depth, it was half reading, half skim reading, I focused on the posts from relevant people) I'm voting for SM unless something changes (for example, if SBG has something interesting to say.) As CoD says she talked a lot which shows that she was active but didn't actually say much of substance, especially in important discussions like whether to lynch Wolfpacks (although she says she wasn't around for rl reasons at that time...) She wasn't on the wagon for either Canik or Wolfpacks (even though Canik in particular was a really obvious scum.) She also pushed really hard to kill Yehom, and was the third vote needed to kill him when TW took him out of the game. And it does seem suspicious that SM supposedly saved up her action for the sixth night just when it was most convenient to cause confusion and get a possible ally onside. My only other comment is.... it's either SM or CoD. Both were checked by Robert and both came up clean. So either one is a ninja, or else SM wasn't the mafia nominated to kill the victim that night. Vote: SM

Both of these posts have the ring of townie about them. I mean, it's not much to go on, but it's what I happen to think. I think it's either SM or CoD, and of those two I'd pick the latter, but I'm really not certain at all. Penny for your thoughts, SBG? If CoD *IS* scum, it means he must be a ninja.

Here's something we could consider: don't lynch anyone this round. Scum will kill someone overnight. That reduces our chances of lynching the wrong person by one. Tomorrow the two townies and the scum will remain, and town will have to lynch then. Better odds than we've currently got. If we lynch today and get it wrong then we've lost anyway. CoD could be a ninja. I find it suspicious that he was the one who gave the lengthy explanation as to why it was unlikely that we're facing a ninja. >_> Do we really want to fix our hopes of winning on speculation about whether the scum team would've been too strong with a ninja?

Ugh. How on earth do I figure out if SM is false claiming or not. I mean, she has seemed pretty townie throughout the game. But she could just be good at what she does. SM, out of SBG and CoD, who do you think it is? I'm inclined to think the latter, but that's purely based on hunches. I really don't have time to read through 20 pages at the moment (I'm teaching law and I have classes to prepare for.) Could you read over some and see if you can pick up anything? I also want to hear from CoD.

That's prettttttty suspicious to me. The only possibility is that mafia tried to attack you and were foiled by Imran. I'm still suspicious. no. The night I probed him we had a night kill happen. He couldn't of been targeted for the kill cause somebody else was killed. Ah. So the answer in short is that he's a mafia.

Re: Sea, that was when I still assumed Yehom was a mafia... I'll have to reread and see what my thoughts are now. I'm feeling bad for sucking at this game so much. I might leave things to more experienced players from now on! It's different from in person play. That's fine. I hadn't caught anything from Sea that proved without any doubt he was town. I'm not necessarily saying he's scum, just for me, he hasn't been taken off my possible list. Could of missed something. Also don't feel bad, I know yesterday I was getting a bit irritated, mainly because the active people were staying stuck on Yehom and I, and no matter what I said or could do it was staying that way. I was trying to help Yehom out and try to look to lynch elsewhere but me saying I believed his RC only made him suspect me more. It becomes a bit frustrating when you see who I believe are fellow town arguing with one another, and thus the day is spent wasted on town trying to get other town lynched. At the end of the day, play your game, and learn from mistakes/get more experience. I for one sucked ass the first few games I played, getting lynched early on twice. Sorry if I've been a bit blunt to you and Yehom, just was frustrated, but certainly don't want to see you not enjoy the game and/or not want to play anymore/again. And like I said, play your game. You can't always leave it up to the more veterans either, they just as well could be scum. At end of the day, enjoy and learn, and go with how you feel. I still think my top choice right now is WP. Robert got movement with his motion senor role off him. At this point, no one has came forward to say they used a role on him that would set it off. I already mentioned this, but even if WP is inactive and not on to say if he wants to use his action or not, the rest of scum can still submit a night action for him. The other scum could of just told TW to use WP's action on someone. He's also inactive, and hasn't given us much to go on. He's my choice atm. Smile. I'm tough enough not to get upset or anything by your post, and I've still enjoyed my game. I'm not planning on quitting online mafia altogether. It's just that in real life, not to show off or anything but I'm generally the best player in the room (at least when I'm a townie. I'm not so good as a mafia.) But although I'm not like, emotionally crushed by sucking at my first game of online mafia the kind words do give me warm fuzzies. Yes. This did occur to me. But being wrong about Yehom dented my confidence.

Well that was... unexpected. o.o I wrote out a lengthy post where I did a comprehensive survey of the posts in this thread from page 10 onwards and wrote up my top suspects for mafia. It got deleted and I don't have a copy of it But after Yehom, I said Rhizo was the most suspicious, and that's also in accordance with Yehom's stated wishes.
