  1. Duuuude. Awesome to have you back. (Remember me?)
  2. Grumble grumble. Hurry up and vote to kill me iSoc. This waiting is killing me. (Ok, that was a terrible pun.) And the rest of you guys are denying me my fun by not replying either.
  3. *cheeky grin at @The Warrior*
  4. You know what. Scrap the original version of this post. Yeah, I'm a mafia. To my scum buddy (you know who you are).... you're the roleblocker. When the town lynches me today, the only thing you need to do to win the game is not attempt to both kill and roleblock the same person tonight. Let me explain. If person A is the doctor and person B is the vanilla townie, person A *HAS* to protect person B tonight, because the doctor cannot save himself. That means that if you target person A to kill him and you roleblock person B, you're guaranteed a kill. If, on the other hand, you target person B to kill him and you roleblock person A, you're also guaranteed a kill as person A will be prevented from using his doctor power to save person B. The only possible way for us to lose at this point is if you target person B i.e. the townie tonight to kill him AND ALSO USE YOUR ROLEBLOCK POWER ON THAT SAME PERSON B. I repeat for emphasis: when the town lynches me tonight, use your roleblock on one of the two remaining people, and target the OTHER person (whom you did not roleblock) to kill. That guarantees us a win. DO NOT both roleblock and attempt to kill the same person. GG everyone.
  5. What happens if iSocialism gets back in time to vote for me? With a 3-3 draw, the rules say the first person to reach half lynch dies, but does that mean the first person to reach two votes or as in this case the first person to reach 3?
  6. Eh? I thought half lynch was two people? o.O (TW said I was at half lynch, and there were only two votes on me.)
  7. Thank you for this. It confirms what I have long suspected. How could those morons in the American diplomatic corps *POSSIBLY* think that promoting sectarian rivalries in Syria was a good plan? Those $#%!ing idiots. I hope there's a special section of hell reserved just for them.
  8. Ah. I didn't realise that two votes was enough to get someone lynched. My mistake. Still, I don't see your asking for a game extension as definitive proof that you're town. Given our forum problems it was common sense to get an extension and KevinH could easily have done that of his own accord. I fully expected that there would be an extension from the moment I saw we had forum problems again (lawl.) And, no, other reasons have been given for considering you suspicious other than simply the fact that you're alive.
  9. Re: asking for game extension, I only had two votes on me at the time. I would not have been lynched if the day had ended as two votes are not a majority. Re: your claim that I did not answer your question about why LordSunday [edit: I originally said Robert, it's late here and I confused him with LS] voted for me, that is simply false, as you (and everyone else) can see I answered that question at length. Also, roleclaiming VT is exactly what a scum would do, so it doesn't help you much. The one thing that gives me pause is that we can ill afford a mislynch. But you've pressed so hard to lynch me based on such feeble evidence that you *are* my number 1 suspect.
  10. Alive and kicking.
  11. Shrug. Alright. Vote: TW
  12. I accept that. I'm simply pointing out that TW was the final vote on Robert (meaning he clearly saw value in doing so) and then when I called him out on this and said that he was the hammer he turned round and said that it was posted after the deadline and made no difference.
  13. So why did you place the vote then, if it meant so little?
  14. True... although you sealed the deal on Robert. You can never know whether people might change their vote or what. The vote was 3-2 when you placed your vote, it could easily have ended up drawn. (In fact, believe it or not I toyed with changing and voting for EM, but decided I just didn't find him a suspicious character.) Plus, if I had to pick your scum buddy, I'd say either iSoc or Finster (although I'm not certain enough to FoS or lynch him.) (Incidentally, this is not something I'm just coming up with on the fly, iSoc and Finster were both on my possible lynch list the day Robert was lynched.) I also find it pretty suss that you've used the fact that I voted for Robert as material to incriminate me when you voted for him yourself. (As did Finster, who is along with yourself my biggest critic.) I shall reiterate for emphasis: I did not initiate the vote on Robert. I did not hammer Robert. The vote could just as easily have gone the other way and EM would have been lynched instead. It was my bad luck that the vote went the way it did, and even if you didn't set me up it was a fact which was certainly not lost on you, as you have used it to cast suspicion on me since.
  15. Not if he was sufficiently certain that I was scum (which, having just skim read that section of the thread, it seems he was.)
  16. Oh and by the way there was another wagon going on Electric Mango. I didn't need to vote for Robert to "save myself". I could've voted for EM. It was just my bad luck that others chose to place the hammer vote on Robert instead of EM. (As I've said, I was not the hammer.) It could just as easily have gone EM's way. In fact, it's interesting that TW placed the hammer vote on Robert (suspicious much?) It set me up quite well to look like a mafia, as he could then point out that I voted for Robert while overlooking the fact that he did so himself.
  17. I'm glad to see Gorsuch appointed. I'm not glad to see the filibuster removed, as we will see further and further ideological polarisation on the Supreme Court. I don't want justices who hold my political views on stuff, I want justices who will objectively apply the law. Plus, there will come a day when the Democrats will have a majority in the Senate and there's a Supreme Court justice spot to fill, guys. And there's no guarantee that any of the other Supreme Court justices will die while the Republicans still have a majority. The other thing I dislike about all this is that it invites people to hope that justices who do not share their ideological persuasion will die. I for one do not like Ginsburg's views, but I refuse to speculate as to when she might die, or worse hope for or pray for her death. In person she is apparently a lovely woman. I found her tribute to Scalia when he died very moving, and a beautiful demonstration of how friendship can transcend ideological differences. Carry on.
  18. No, I don't see defending myself as just an option. I simply wondered whether it was pointless rereading the entire thread (which, by the way, I haven't done, as I'm a bit busy atm) and making a defence seeing as you clearly have your hearts set on lynching me. As to LordSunday's vote on me: I can only say that it's less than certain that he investigated me on the first night. We have no certain evidence of that. What I did on the first day was simply not *THAT* suspicious. It's entirely possible that LordSunday, say, visited someone else and they weren't scum, so he had no suspects. In fact, in LordSunday's shoes, even if I did find me suspicious on the first day I wouldn't have visited me overnight. By that point, I was already a suspect. Given the risk of being killed overnight I would want to find more information about the scum as soon as possible. I'd have visited the people who posted before me/ captain in that thread to corroborate TW's theory that I/ captain just followed my scum buddy, where I suspect he found that whoever he investigated was not scum. (Why do I suspect that? Because I know that TW's theory that I was following my scum buddy *is not true*.) At the very least, I'd have visited someone else to get information as quickly as possible. I'm tired of being harried from pillar to post for a couple of noob errors on the first day. I've done nothing suspicious since then. There's a lot here that makes me seem more suspicious than I am: 1) Yes, I voted for Robert. I wasn't the hammer vote, nor did I initiate killing him in particular. Rafay was the one to suggest killing him. 2) Yes, LordSunday got killed overnight after having voted for me. But assuming I was scum I had no way of knowing that he was the cop. The fact that the cop got killed is an unhappy coincidence. In fact, the fact that he was killed after voting for me suggests to me that I'm *not* a scum, as I wouldn't be so foolish as to incriminate myself by a retaliatory assassination. I'd have gone for some random person with no connection to myself. Following on from that, I wonder if in fact the scum killed LS to frame me. Which leads into the next part of what I have to say. TW has pushed so hard over most of this game to lynch me over a couple of noob errors early on. I don't know for sure whether the scum were out to frame me. But if they were, it fits with my budding theory that TW might be a scum. He's quite a strategic thinker, it is the sort of thing he might do. I also do find it suspicious frankly that after two nights he is still alive. If his theorising were as accurate as he purports, I'd have killed him already if I were scum (which is in fact apparently normal in these games, given that he is such a good player.) FoS TW
  19. I'm not sure whether I can be bothered making a defence, seeing as I'm pretty sure you guys have made up your minds to lynch me, but I'll see how I'm feeling later today (I'm about to head into uni.) In the meantime, I'm innocent, you meanies, OMGUS, Lyner is my top suspect even though he's dead, etc etc etc.
  20. Seeing as nobody is taking up my suggestion of lynching Rafay, I'll go with Robert. It's true he's pretty inactive, and we do need to lynch *someone*. Lynch: Robert
  21. Simply that he has said stuff lately, whereas Rafay hasn't. I can't comment on Rafay's comparative activity levels as I'm fairly new to IRON's mafia games myself.
  22. Who would you suggest? We don't have to decide that quite just yet, but I'd like to hear more from iSoc, Rafay and Finster. Rafay in particular seems pretty inactive.
  23. I am not convinced that captainjf/kitkat is scum, but captain's actions on day 1 are the best that anyone has to go off of up to this point. So you are saying that you don't believe anything that captainjf did was scummy? Noted. I read that one of two ways: 1) You are town like I suspect and truly don't believe captain acted scummy. This would likely cast me as being suspicious to you since I am suspicious of him. You would also have to be extremely foolish to continue to push me as being suspicious if you were scum since my death would immediately point the spotlight on you. 2) You are scum and know that both kitkat and I are town. You know by "defending" kitkat and questioning me, that any lynch of kitkat will reflect poorly on me and you will use it to say "see TW is scum because he questioned kitkat and I didn't." I'm also not sure how you can say it's too early in the game to have feelings on anyone. We are essentially at the midway point of the game (assuming the worst case scenario). If the town does not find a scum today or tomorrow during the day we lose tomorrow night. If someone doesn't have any feelings on someone else at this point it's because they aren't pushing anyone for answers. Townies should be doing that. He said that in his eyes I (or rather, captain) hadn't acted any more scummy than anyone else so far. Which means that it's not that there's something to go on and he doesn't want to act on it because it's not that convincing, it's that he thinks there is nothing to go on because my explanation is highly plausible. I suggest (if we do lynch) that we lynch one of the inactives (especially given that it's entirely possible that one of them is a scum and just sitting back and chilling and watching us talk.)
  24. I thought it was a good explanation too, but for some reason people didn't seem to find it persuasive. Shrug.
