Texas Justice II - GAME OVER!

Endgame - CLICK ME

TEXAS JUSTICE II

During the night, you hear a shot echoing from the town hall. Each townsperson alerts the other, and slowly a small crowd of people, each carrying a rifle, run to the hall. Slowly, carefully, you search the hall. Entering the Mayor's office, you see Mole Stargazer shot dead, his blood leaking all over his desk. Clutched in his hand is a note, written in a hurried scrawl.

"People!

The town is not safe! The mafia are about to kill me, I've not given them money.

Find them! Shoot them! Hur

The note trails off into a scribble, adorned with blood. Looking around with a shudder, you realise there are Mafia amongst you. The doors are slammed shut, and the rifles are readied - but you're willing to try discussion first.

Anyways, as far as CD goes, my thought is, are we sure he's scum?

Let me explain again. When there were 6 players total and 4 bullets left, if the scum had 2 bullets they could have shot the other 2 bullets and won with the end game of 2-2.

But they didn't. Therefore one of the 2 players without bullets at the time must have been scum: either Sir Jesus or CanucksDynasty.

The fact that Sir Jesus was townie doesn't change any of the previous facts. The scum wasn't Sir Jesus so it must be CanucksDynasty.

But yet, if CD is scum, that doesn't clearly say Kevin isn't. It could possibly be a sacrifice of a scum buddy

Follow my logic. Even if you suspect me as scum, I'm telling the town how to win. I could be a scum without a bullet meaning all three bullets are townie. One bullet kills CanucksDynasty, another bullet kills the third bullet. There would be 2 townies remaining and the town would win.

Follow my plan. The town will win. If I were scum, would I be telling the town how to win? Shoot CanucksDynasty.

EBWOP:

ok so hopefully mole doesn't modkill me...:

to flesh out what i said above, the town wins when all mafia are dead. so if one mafia is alive endgame, but the town outnumber him...then neither the town or mafia win. which leads to an interesting scenario where its up to the mod to decide who wins or if it is a draw.

The game would continue in that situation.

If all 3 of the people left alive had no bullets, then town would win as they would outnumber scum, and the scum would not have met their win conditions.

We have a couple of assumptions that I believe to be true:

  • There are 2 scum
  • Either Sir Jesus or CanucksDynasty are scum

We can easily reduce the number of scum to 1.

We will win if we can run out of bullets with 2 townies left.

The scum are in the same situation again. If there are 2 scum bullets remaining, they could kill two townies including the third bullet and win.

I can't believe there would only be 1 scum. One lucky shot would end the game.

The plan:

  1. Somebody shoot CanucksDynasty.
  2. Somebody else shoot the remaining bullet.

Town wins.

@Narsis - I'm not necessarily saying we should follow Kevin's plan. That was just one suggestion if we did go with his plan. As far as why I didn't suggest Curu to fire the bullet, it was basically due to the confusion about how we win (if we outnumber scum, do we still win), which, iirc, was not explained earlier. I could be wrong and somehow missed that though. Of course, now we know for sure, so yeah. So basically, if we followed his plan, I would want Curu to be dead, and if he was the one that shot the bullet first, that would not be the case. Not that I don't think he's town, but of the people with bullets, he's obviously the one I suspect the most.

@Kevin - I understand what you're saying. And I agree, that CD is the most logical choice for being scum. Logical does not mean correct however. Falzis / SJ were logical choices and both those leads failed us. The only thing that concerns me about you is if it's a mind game to trick us. Not saying that this is indeed the case, just trying to keep an open mind is all.

To be honest...my gut seems to keep saying that Kevin is scum.
Sadly I agree with this ...
But thinking about it, I'm really becoming unsure on Kevin.

Only one of you are scum.

Two of you are town: Tell me where my logic fails.

What if somebody shoots me? You'll see that I'm townie. I'm 100% certain that CanucksDynasty is scum. Whoever shoots me might or might not be scum. We've had a few instances of well-intentioned townies deviating from the plan ...

Case 1a: I'm shot by a townie.

The scum bullet will shoot the townie bullet and the scum will win. Granted, the townie bullet could be quick and shoot the scum, but the townie bullet won't know that I'm a townie until mole posts it and by then it will be too late. Town loses.

Case 1b: I'm shot by scum.

There will be 2 townie bullets remaining. One should shoot CanucksDynasty and the other should shoot whoever shot me. Town wins.

Logical does not mean correct however. Falzis / SJ were logical choices and both those leads failed us.

The logic with them was that they deviated from the plan and that appeared scummy. So they were only the most probable, not a sure thing.

If CanucksDynasty is not scum and I am scum, then my scum buddy with a bullet and I could have won earlier.

If CanucksDynasty is not scum and I am not scum, then there are 2 scum with bullets now and they can win easily.

If CanucksDynasty is scum and I am scum, then there are 3 townie bullets remaining. Why not shoot CanucksDynasty? It will prove my point.

@ mole: the thing is that the town hasn't achieved their win condition either...

but why am i complaining...town can win easily unless mole changes the rules on us...

Joe was a cautious man. As secretary to the Mayor, he'd spent his time living in relative luxury and peace. Until he walked into to find his boss dead, and a note saying the mafia had arrived. Since then he had been plunged into chaos. He had led the searches on the houses of all the unfortunate townsfolk who had been shot up 'til now.

He flinched as he heard another gunshot from within the large office. Shortly after, vgmmaster's name was announced. As he walked away, he heard shouting, and cringed.

He approached vgmmaster's house with his group of volunteers, and quickly begin to search the place. With each minute that passed, his gut tightened - nothing?! This can't be happening to me!

He entered the bedroom, and opened all the drawers, desperately hoping for something to come up. He blinked as he found a mobile phone, and traced the messages. Nothing...

vgmmaster, TOWNIE, has been shot.

Dreading the response to the verdict, he walked back to the room. That was when he heard a gunshot.

Shit.. SHIT! A cry of pain was heard from within the room. Readying his rifle, he rushed to the room, and kicked the door down.

"She was to-" He stopped. The bodies of two men were on the ground. He couldn't tell if they were breathing or not. He looked up. In front of him stood Curufinwe and CanucksDynasty, who grinned. Slowly, they walked towards him.

"No- No.." Joe turned to run. Curufinwe hurred up, and clouted Joe across the head with the butt of his rifle. The mafia pair grinned at each other, and walked away into the night, their job complete.

Narsis, TOWNIE, killed in endgame.

KevinH, TOWNIE, killed in endgame.

Curufinwe and CanucksDynasty, SCUM, WIN!

Congratulations!

Unlucky Narsis. ;)

A lot of the time, the town fell into the trap I'd hoped they'd avoid. If they shoot, then kill the person who shot, it was very easy for the scum to hide and finish the town off quickly at the end of the game.

To increase their chances of winning, they had to make each decision carefully regardless of bullets.

Nevertheless, it was a very enjoyable game to mod, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

you were too much on the fence narsis! you should have listened to kevin. :P

no it's just...weird.

in the back of my mind i noticed something was wrong when SJ turned up town but couldn't put my finger on it. i also was tempted to shoot CD back when i made the post about wondering why i was complaining, but didn't because i don't know...i just didn't.
