Trouble In Terror Town - GAME OVER!

The terrorist leaned on his rifle and sighed, looking down into the bleak wilderness below him. He looked down near the gate and so no movement, and looked around, trying to stay alert. He hated sentry duty.

The camp was situated near the top of a snowy mountain near Russia. That was all he knew. He was brought to the camp blindfold to ensure secrecy whilst he was trained and indoctrinated. Now, he was firmly loyal to the cause, but couldn't help getting irritated at having sentry duty - the camp position was chosen specifically to ward off any uninvited visitors. Barely anyone had ever climbed this mountain.

Some new initiates had been brought to the camp yesterday. It was rare, having more than one, but he supposed wherever anyone could be found, they were brought in regardless of number.

He turned around and looked back into the camp, thinking slowly to himself. The surroundings of the camp had always been silent, no sign of any activity at all. So why DID sentry duty exist?

"Damn." He looked up to see that it had started to snow softly. He hated the snow, after spending months in it, it started to grate at you - and having to spend your nights curled up trying to get warm didn't help either. He hoped it wouldn't be a blizzard.

Yet, despite his hopes, the snow picked up rapidly. He started to have to strain to see. The terrorist turned around quickly has he heard footsteps in the snow. There was nothing there. That was strange.

He let out barely a cry as someone snuck up behind him, grabbed him by the neck and drew a knife swiftly across it. Someone was in the camp who shouldn't.

strange though that theo showed up when two people voted him <_<

No I was the 2nd person to vote on Falzis, tbh I missed Nerau's vote on him ... mine was like the 6th post on page 1.

VOTE COUNT

Falzis (2): Theophilos, KevinH

Theophilos (2): Kaziocore, CanucksDynasty

Kaziocore (1): AKCPLUTO

CanucksDynasty (1): Falzis

Nerau (1): Windblade

Windblade (1): Narsis

Not Voting (1): Nerau

With 9 Alive, 5 is needed to lynch.

At deadline, a half-majority (3) is needed to lynch. This has not been achieved.

The terrorists, after some discussion, decided there wasn't nearly enough evidence to condemn one of their own to death yet. Night fell as they returned to their respective tents / caves.

IT IS NOW NIGHT ONE.

NIGHT ACTIONS TO ME BY TUESDAY.

  • Author

The terrorists wake up the next morning, and anxiously peer out of their respective sleeping quarters. Finding nothing untoward, they go about their duties.

One lone terrorist decides to go for a run. As he passes Theophilos' tent, he notices the tent is open. Curious. He stops for a moment, and peers inside.

"Ah."

Everyone is rallied, and Theophilos' body is searched. Nothing.

Theophilos, innocent terrorist and TOWNIE, has been killed.

It is now DAY TWO.

Deadline is 11th May.

I'm still looking for a replacement for Falzis. If nothing is found in a few days, Theo can replace in if willing.

Two theories:

  •
  • Theophilos was voting for Falzis so that would put some suspicion on him if he were active.
  • Kaziocore and CanucksDynasty wanted Theophilos dead so when the lynch didn't succed, they night-killed him.

OK, they are both weak but that's all I got.

Yeah, tough one...

Kevin, if I had to pick one of your two theories, I think the second one is much more likely, especially in light of CD's experience.

Remember last game when Windblade got lynched?

My theory is that scum is neither on your list. It would be too obvious.

I would certainly expect you to say that. You're on the list!

I don't treat the theories seriously. If somebody voted on day one, there's a chance they could do something "suspicious". When scum is picking a night-kill, they can easily set up somebody to look "suspicious".

Yeah but still other people will use that reason to vote if they don't see other people worth lynching (like again last game).

So yeah it's a great tactic for scum because they know it's obvious but they'll still have the townie lynch their own.

In my experience...a short game like this (ie. only 2 scum)...scum tries not to attract attention to themselves.

So therefore...I'm inclined to believe that Falzis, Kaziocore and myself are townies.

My current suspects are...

AKCPLUTO for the bandwagon vote.

Nerau for his quick unvote.

i really dont think that Falzis is scum. And even if he is...he's inactive. so until he gets replaced he isn't really a threat to the town(although he's not much help either).

anyway i agree with CD that scum aren't likely going to draw attention to themselves. more then likely they would have lied low during the day, staying out of the discussion. granted they could have been doing the complete opposite...however i dont think it's that likely on day 1.

Agreed.

I think lynching Falzis is like lynching a townie.

I only played one game that had an abandoned mafia role but played many that had an abandoned vanilla townie role.

That's also why I think Falzis is most likely townie.

I could be wrong...but I don't think so.

Also...it seems that Theophilos will be replacing Falzis.

So it would be best not to lynch Falzis/Theophilos just yet.

@ CD

Me:

CD:

How am I bandwagoning or voting? All I said that out of the two options that Kevin presented, the second one is much more likely than the other. In other words, I think that CD and Kaziocore are much more likely to be scum than Falzis, and I think that to be so because of Falzis' inactivity. However, I'm not voting, and I'm not even FOSing. I'm merely stating an opinion.

@ KevinH

What does the acronym WIFOM mean?

@ CD (again)

So it would be best not to lynch Falzis/Theophilos just yet

I agree -- I don't see the point of lynching Falzis for being inactive. If Falzis is townie, then obviously, we wouldn't want to lynch a townie. If Falzis is scum, it is to our advantage that we have an inactive scum. I would rather shoot for (no pun intended) the active scum, as opposed to the inactive scum, in a 2-scum game.

Anyways... the day is young...

@AKCPLUTO - by bandwagon vote...I mean the 2nd vote you casted on Kaziocore on the very first day.

Although you claimed it to be a "revenge" vote.

And in the previous games you've played...you would offer little reasoning for your vote and would vote with the majority. (ie. bandwagon voting).

My suspicion on you is pretty much the same reasoning as to why I voted for Theophilos on Day 1 (eventhough he turned up townie).

Wine In Front Of Me

@CD

Oh okay...in which case, arguing from precedent...you are entitled to your opinion.

@Narsis

Ah...yes...I remember the humor of that film well. But I fail to understand the concept of a 'wine in front of me' vote. Is it akin to a ly-or-lo situation?

Remember last game when Windblade got lynched?

My theory is that scum is neither on your list. It would be too obvious.

Want to highlight this due to previous experiences. :P

Also want to say +1 for the fact no one got lynched on the first day. With the odds you get most of the time a townie and that's something no one wants. Well except the scum of course. :P

As for suspicions I havn't gotten any big ones yet. Would like to say the theophilos voters but I think I might fall in the same trap as the last game so I'll be waiting for a bit before I cast my vote.

Exactly, I don't want to get hasty with my vote either.

not really. WIFOM is sort of that kind of circular reasoning that defeats itself. like you are voting fro player X. thus you must be a townie. except you could be a scum trying to look townie by voting for player X. but that's not possible because of Y. yet again you could have been scum doing Y to throw everyone off to think you are a townie. thus you have to be scum, even though you have done absolutely nothing scummy at all this game.

Which makes the game so fun. Let the crazy paranoia set in. :D

It's not paranoia when they really are out to get you.

An inactive scum is still scum and is deserving of a lynch. Theophilos voted for Falzis and got killed. It could be a setup by the scum, but they could think that it's safer to kill because nobody would believe that they would be so obvious.
