Why I chose CD instead of EM

1) If not Martino, who's the next best mafia player here that could guess that KevinH is scum?

2) and that could avoid the scum radar of people

that I'm correct.

 

Also you completely ignored (since i didn't see this in your post) what Martino said about EM and your Occam's razor thing that the scum is either Theo or EM.

Martino also thought EM was mafia and he would even vote him if he survived the night.

I didn't ignore Martino's last post. I even questioned EM about it.

 

There are multiple scenarios...but IF I was scum...yes that would one way of thinking of it.

Even though Martino mentioned targetting EM...he could always change his mind and go after you since he suspected you on D2.

Thus...it's enough of a reason to kill Martino.

I think the new rules (D=5, N=2) were effective (in this game at least).

It got the game moving along and everyone posted at least once a day.

 

Only bad part was that Theo had requested a replacement...so we lost so gameplay there.

Stuff like that will happen from time to time.

But overall...I think it went pretty well.

Not much point in writing up my uber awesome lynch scenes since CD already gave it away.

I think that the D=5, N=2 worked quite well. it's unfortunate that i couldnt get Theo replaced as i think it would have made a bit of a difference had he roleclaimed.

 

as for the cop/deputy combo...i wanted to try something a bit different from the usual cop/doc combo. basically i wanted it set up so that the cop would at the very least get one chance at gaining info on someone and revealing it. it didnt happen, but it gave them the chance.

 

 

now i have an interesting idea for the next game...but i'll let mole have a chance if he wants.

First of all, congrats well played. I was a bit surprised that you guys lynched Kazio "because I was suspicious of him". I shifted my suspicions to EM at the end of the previous day and I would have voted that way. I also thought I had made that pretty clear at the end of the day. Anyway, we would have lost either way so it didn't really matter.

 

Secondly, yes we got a lot of discussion. But I'm not sure we got a lot of discussion due to the strict 5+2 rule. I believe we got a lot of discussion because we lynched a scum on D1 and because we had a group of active players. In any case, I have to say I was pretty annoyed that the discussion on D2 got cut short due to the deadline. It's unlikely that I would have ended up pointing to you as the second scum, so it didn't really influence this game, but there was still plenty to discuss. In my opinion, a deadline should be used to end the day if the discussion is dying down and there is little chance that there will be agreed on a lynch without one. A deadline should not end the day just for the sake of ending the day.

 

Finally, I'd like to know from EM and Theo(once he is back) why they kept their random vote on me without even mentioning it. Why would that be in the advantage of the town? Even if I had been scum and been lynched, we could hardly clear you based on a random vote.

I really shouldn't be doing this....but here is what went on my mind during the game.

 

As AKCPLUTO garnered 3 votes first and would have likely ended up lynched if I did nothing. I had 2 choices...save him or lynch him. If I chose to save him...I thought I would be immediately be targeted by the cop (since I would have put the hammer vote on Martino) and subsequently be lynched on D2. If I was lynched on D2...I was pretty certain that the cop/town would focus on AKCPLUTO since I didn't vote for him.

 

Since AKC was lynched early on...I wasn't able to get his advice for the rest of the game. So I decided to nightkill KevinH on N1. I had an inkling (gut feeling) that he was cop and thankfully I was right.

 

On D2, I wanted to put the focus on either Theo or EM. I saw EM post something short on Theo and decided to place my suspicion on Theo. As Kaziocore was suspected by Martino and EM...I had a choice to put the final vote to lynch him. I decided not to for several reasons. I needed him alive to garner more suspicions from the rest of the town. And I didn't know how Theo's replacement would play and that was unknown risk. So I decided not to flip flop my vote. I was prepared for Kazio to be lynched but was surprised when the sudden switch to lynch Theo. I had no idea he was a power role.

 

Even though I stood better odds if I did not nightkill, on N2, I decided to nightkill Martino. Cuz he's an experienced veteran who might be able latch onto something on my past and/or future posts. So he was a threat I wanted to remove. Also that would serve as fodder to frame either EM or Kaziocore.

 

On D3, I waited to see who would be voted first and then I would quickly vote for that same person to end the game. That didn't happen eventhough EM and Kazio suspected one another. I was still an outside chance but at this point...not the main suspect. With no deadline...the game could have gone alot longer until someone breaks and decides to vote. There was a small chance that the back and forth between Kazio and EM that they might realize I was mafia. So I took the initiative and I voted Kaziocore instead of EM for several reasons. One reason is that I had previously stated that I believed EM to more townie that Kazio...so I had to be consistent. Also it wouldn't had made much sense if I was mafia and voted first...I basically gave up my advantage to winning the game. It was a gamble (50/50) to hope EM would vote for Kazio....I just hoped I did enough to seem more townie than Kaziocore. I guess I did just enough.

 

 

As for the 5+2 rule...I agree that the discussions are mainly due to active players but I think it helped move the game along with no real dry spells. As for the no extensions...that's debateable. I just don't want games to last 3 months and 60+ pages like some past games.

correction: the cop role stated that there were two mafia...the townie role said nothing of the sort. it was actually a bit of a slip on my part mentioning that in your pm. i need to be more careful with flavour.

Yep...his post about me was pretty much spot on.

He even quoted AKC post about me...which really was a distancing post.

 

But really...I knew that would happen anyways when I voted for him.

It makes sense to grab onto any posts and spin it to make the person look like mafia.

I was prepared to counter his post but was relieved to see EM already voted for Kazio.

 

Like I said...I had to wrap things up sooner than later in fear that they (Kazio & EM) might be able to put the pieces together.

Two points (I came back yesterday btw, but had a lot to catch up with ...)

 

I didn't role claim for a simple reason, I wasn't convinced it's the most beneficial thing to do - so I went as close to role claiming as possible. Apparently it somewhat worked since CD didn't know I had a power role (also remember, that my power role was activated only after KevinH was killed).

 

@Martino, tbqh I didn't have a better alternative so I left my vote on you.
