I also wonder where this roleclaim suddenly comes from... the way I see it CaoCao is pretty much dead meat (provided all those virtual votes become real), but by claiming my role... AKC is suddenly extremely suspicious on my list...

Also a question: how is paraphrasing a pm we can't check proof for anything?

Knowing an actual role name for a verified townie role allows us to check for an internal consistency in how mole named roles - i.e. does your 'lifeguard' sound like the one AKCPLUTO claimed. You say you are an ex-lifeguard, and he says he is 'cowardly lifeguard' as listed in the previous game - as opposed to an 'ex' lifeguard. It's more information for us to consider.

As for paraphrasing, one of the rules is that you cannot verbatim-quote your role PM or any other PM you have gotten from mole - though listing the NAME of your role verbatim is safe. The penalty for verbatim quoting mole is being modkilled, so whenever someone is told to paraphrase their role PM as extra justification/detail, this is why.

As for what we gain from paraphrased role PMs, it's both additional role detail and more internal consistency - we get to see if the role 'sounds' real, beyond simply having the name. It's not beyond a creative scum to come up with a fake role, but forcing them to say more gives them more space to possibly overreach/conflict with an existing role.

Also, RoT has decided to cast his vote after this surprising roleclaim. We dont have much time left in the day, but TC has responded with his role name and AKC has responded to THAT, so I dont think there's anything else to wait for - cao cao is not likely to appear in the mere hours left at this point. I will honor my previous post and provide the hammer now that RoT has voted.

Here's hoping his inactive self is scum - he WAS suspicious on day 1, so I'd give us a little better than the raw 1/3 odds on him. And if not... we have CD/ccabal and possibly EM/AKCPLUTO to consider on day 3.

CaoCao was next to be accused. The first accusation was almost casual, but after he refused to respond suspicion quickly grew. Eventually enough of the stranded townsfolk were suspicious enough that CaoCao was picked up and pushed back into a shelf, hard. He hit his head on the back of a crate and slumped down, seemingly unconscious.
"Oh, my god... guys! GET BACK!"
It seemed the shove into crates had dislodged a crate of antiseptic liquid that had been lurking on the top shelf - and in a warehouse, that's a long way up. The crate fell on top of the stricken CaoCao with a sickening crack.
For a while after the dust settled, there was a horrible silence. But eventually, someone recovered enough to shove the bottles and broken crate aside to check the body.

"There's nothing here... but he'd pocketed a few CDs."

The fact that he was a lawbreaker did nothing to dispel the townsfolks' shame. He wasn't a member of the mafia they were looking for, that's for sure.

CaoCao, SHOPLIFTER, has been lynched.

Nerau had sat down following the fall of the crate, and now his eyes were shut. It wasn't until a few minutes after CaoCao's body was found that someone turned round to find him lying on the floor, deathly pale. He had finally died after his miraculous recovery.

Nerau has died.

It is now NIGHT TWO.

Day dawns, and the mood is grim within the supermarket. When everyone wanders in, the sound of the freezers working away is the only sound that can be heard throughout the building save the odd stifled yawn. No-one was sleeping very much, all too scared that if they closed their eyes it would be their last time to do so. Sleep came eventually, though - eyelids dragging themselves down after most of the night had passed, and when it came it was fitful, dreams of a knife inexplicably flashing in the pitch black.
The survivors gathered round near the checkouts. But the more of the morning passed, the more it was clear that one person was missing.

The body of KevinH was found face-down in the staff canteen upstairs. For some reason, a pile of stock reports was in front of the table he had been sleeping at next to a now-bare plate.
But after a brief search, it became clear - he wasn't mafia. He worked at the supermarket - and seemed very dedicated to his job. Almost fitting, then, that he took a bullet for it.

KevinH, DEDICATED EMPLOYEE (aka One-Use Martyr), has been killed.

It is now DAY THREE. Deadline for today is Monday 23rd.
